Megan Thee Stallion, Vanilla Ice, PSY and ITZY all in one room? Kpopped brings the best of the west to Seoul
The lineup? Unhinged in the best way possible. K-pop groups like Billlie, Itzy, Kep1er, JO1, Ateez, STAYC, Kiss of Life, and Blackswan will be joining forces with Western legends including Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Mel B and Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls, Vanilla Ice, Kesha, TLC, Kylie Minogue, Boyz II Men and more. The show is hosted by comedian Soojeong Son and features Psy and Stallion as star mentors.
Naturally, the internet is already spiraling
'Looks like a fun show. Imagine this leads to more positive collabs in the future, this is good for the mid-tier groups like Billlie and Kep1er. Just for the laughs, I would love to see a Mnet styled show, with zoom ins or close ups of voice cracks, 'evil editing' and repetitive repeats of choreo mistakes,' wrote one fan.
Another added, 'Dang, these are some heavy-hitter A-List musicians collaborating in this project. Personally, looking forward to Billlie. Taylor Dayne has a ridiculous voice but pairing with Vanilla Ice? That one is unexpected.' Someone else noted, 'Vanilla Ice and Kep1er is either going to be the best thing ever or beautifully chaotic. No in-between.'
Others were equally floored by the lineup. 'This is the most unexpected lineup ever,' said one. Another declared, 'This is going to be such a fun show.' One person summed it up best: 'This isn't a concert, it's a multiverse collision.' And finally: 'Such a random, yet iconic lineup! We are seated for all of these collabs!'
KPopped premieres August 29, and if nothing else, it's proof that chaotic TV is still alive and well.

Has VCHA officially disbanded? JYP Entertainment girl group disappears from social media amid fan concerns
Girl group VCHA, which came into existence all thanks to the reality competition program A2K, may have disbanded as fans await updates about the group's future. On August 5, many netizens noticed that all social media accounts had deleted their content and removed the profile photos of the girls, going into complete 'blackout' modes. This included the team's Instagram profile with 825K followers, X account with 62.7 K followers, YouTube with 674K subscribers, and even TikTok, where the team enjoyed a whopping 1.4 million following. This has further raised concerns about the group's disbandment amid the team's ongoing issues internally. VCHA's run in the K-pop industry over? Here's all we know The disappearance of VCHA's official accounts is a recent development amid the group members' struggles with their management. While usually a marketing tactic to attract more headlines and online engagement, their absence from social media appears to be a goodbye instead. Inclining more towards a break-up of the team, VCHA's name had also been removed from JYP Entertainment 's website under the artists' section, as fans observed on the same day. This has more or less confirmed their doubts as Vlights (VCHA's fandom) waited for news from the agency. The issues first came to light when member KG spoke out about the alleged mistreatment she received at the hands of the staff, which the company soon denied. After being placed on a hiatus, her departure was announced in December 2024. A case is also going on between her and the agency after she first registered it at the Los Angeles Superior Court. Following her, member Kaylee also decided to leave the team and the label in July 2025 with mutual termination, turning the group into a four-piece. While further updates have not come in from Camila, Lexi, Kendall or Savanna, it seems that the team will no longer continue its course under the South Korean giant, which was managing the group alongside Republic Records. VCHA debuted on January 26, 2024, and was all set to appear during Lollapalooza for their first music festival performance, but pulled out eventually. So far, JYP Entertainment has not shared a comment on the group's future.

BTS x Michael Jackson? Truth behind tribute collab revealed as BigHit releases official statement
Synopsis Rumours about BTS recording a track for a posthumous Michael Jackson tribute album have been officially denied by BigHit Music. The speculation began after studio owner Paddy Dunning claimed the group had visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland to record an unreleased Jackson song. However, BigHit clarified that BTS was never involved in the project and had not visited the studio. The Michael Jackson estate also denied any collaboration. BTS Not Involved in Michael Jackson Tribute Album, Confirms BigHit Music Rumours about a collaboration between global K-pop group BTS and the late pop icon Michael Jackson have been firmly dismissed by BTS's agency, BigHit Music. What began as excitement over a potential posthumous tribute album quickly turned into confusion after claims surfaced that BTS had recorded one of Jackson's unreleased tracks. BigHit has now released a statement making it clear that the group is not involved in any such speculation began after The Irish Sun published an interview with Paddy Dunning, owner of Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland. Dunning claimed that BTS had recorded a song for a tribute album featuring unreleased Michael Jackson tracks from 2006. According to the report, Jackson had worked on music during a stay in Ireland, and some of these never-before-heard songs were being revived for a tribute project involving several international artists. Dunning also mentioned a documentary in the works to highlight Jackson's time in Ireland and added that he had been in touch with the Jackson estate, which had supposedly approved the idea. His comments sparked major online buzz, with fan forums and social media platforms reacting rapidly to the possibility of a BTS–Michael Jackson after the report spread, BigHit Music released a firm statement in both Korean and English on its official X (formerly Twitter) account. The agency clarified that BTS had not visited Grouse Lodge Studio and was in no way involved in the tribute project. The statement emphasized that BTS had neither recorded any Michael Jackson song nor taken part in any sessions related to the tribute agency stated that all seven members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — are currently in Los Angeles working on their next group album, expected in early 2026. BigHit also acknowledged the fans' support and reiterated its commitment to protecting the artists and addressing the spread of misinformation. — bts_bighit (@bts_bighit) Adding to BigHit's statement, several fan-run Michael Jackson platforms noted that the Jackson estate had not authorized any collaboration with BTS. One fan had reportedly emailed the estate for clarification and received a reply confirming there was no such project involving the K-pop group. This further strengthened the position that the circulating reports were based on unverified claims, not official announcements. The confusion appears to have come from misinterpreted media reports and unconfirmed BTS has denied involvement, the tribute project itself has not been ruled out. Dunning claimed that a number of Jackson's unreleased tracks — originally created with collaborators like Rodney Jerkins and Nephew — are part of the plan, along with a documentary on Jackson's years in Ireland.
