Kamino Finance and Pyth Network Partner to Bridge DeFi Performance Gap

Kamino's Meta-Swap leverages Pyth Network's Express Relay to deliver a CEX-quality trading experience with transparency, self-custody, and composability
LONDON, April 2, 2025 (Bitwire) -- Pyth Network ('Pyth'), the universal price layer powering the next generation of finance, and DeFi protocol Kamino Finance today announced the launch of Meta-Swap, a next-generation swap router built to redefine what on-chain finance can do. Kamino Swap's Meta-Swap is powered by Pyth Network's Express Relay and offers highly competitive price execution found only in CeFi.
Competitive price execution means tight spreads and fast, reliable trades for DeFi users; this is what Kamino Finance calls 'CEX-like performance.' Instead of plugging into a single DEX or DEX aggregator—and being subject to liquidity fragmentation, protocol fees, or MEV—Meta-Swap broadcasts every swap to a network of searchers via Express Relay.
Meta-Swap runs active simulations to ensure swaps execute successfully and at accurate prices, removing failed transactions and inflated quote estimates from the user experience entirely. This results in no more inaccurate quotes, no more failed swaps, and no more mid-quote checks or on-swap validation.
'Meta Swap, powered by Pyth's Express Relay, is bringing CEX-level execution to DeFi, without the MEV tax,'said Mike Cahill, CEO of Dourouoro Labs, a leading contributor to Pyth Network. 'For the first time, traders are going to get the best possible price without any interference. This will make decentralized trading as fair, fast, and efficient as it is on centralized exchanges, thereby leveling the playing field between DeFi and CeFi to give all participants access to a borderless global financial market.'
Express Relay makes 'tipping' users, MEV elimination, and best price execution uniquely possible. It offers a secure auction environment for protocols to submit transaction opportunities to a network of top searchers. Searchers include Flow Traders, Wintermute, Auros, Caladan, Flowdesk, Tokka Labs, Selini, Swaap Finance, Amber Group.
'Meta Swap is finally bringing the decentralized Nasdaq promise to Solana users—making high-performance trading a reality on Solana,' said Marius Ciubotariu, cofounder of Kamino Finance. 'Kamino's active simulation algorithm, together with the Pyth's Express Relay auction network, constantly scans a wide pool of routes and searchers to deliver best execution on every trade.'
Kamino Meta-Swap joins Kamino's Limit Orders—launched in December 2024 with Express Relay —which have already surpassed $200M in volume and distributed nearly $100,000 in user tips.
Together, Limit Orders, Meta-Swap, and an upcoming DCA product (to be powered by Express Relay) form a comprehensive trading suite designed for all types of users: from degens and casual traders to whales and institutions.

NC, SC attorneys general among those urging Meta to crack down on deceptive ‘pump and dump' Facebook ads

RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson is among 42 across the country urging Meta to crack down on deceptive ads. The joint letter claims the social media giant is allowing these so-called 'pump and dump' schemes on Facebook, conning users out of hundreds of millions of dollars. 'Scammers are using fake Facebook ads to trick people into losing millions in scam investments,' said Jackson in a statement. 'It's Meta's job to take these ads down and make sure their platform is as safe as possible for users everywhere. Meta needs to act now.' Consultant behind AI-generated robocalls mimicking Biden goes on trial in New Hampshire Jackson's office says these ads frequently use images of well-known financial figures like Warren Buffet, Cathie Wood and Elon Musk to make users think they're legitimate. They'll advertise stocks with outrageous returns, free consultations, or offer to give investment advice. The AGs claim that clicking on the ads directs users to join a WhatsApp group, where the scammers allegedly urge victims to buy penny stocks to rapidly inflate the share prices. After 'pumping up' the price of the stock, the scammers will 'dump' their shares, causing the prices to fall and leaving victims unable to get their money back. South Carolina AG Alan Wilson is among the co-signers. The letter cites several examples of victims, including a 65-year-old woman who lost her 401(k) to this scheme after clicking on a Facebook ad for what seemed to be a reputable investment management company. And three victims in South Florida spoke to a news outlet reporting direct losses of more than $85,000 and pointing to two-dozen other victims who lost millions more. The attorneys general are asking Meta to either strengthen its advertisement review practices to prevent these ads from being shown to Facebook users or remove all investment ads from the platform. Brazil's top court votes to hold social media platforms accountable for user posts

By Ricardo Brito BRASILIA (Reuters) -Brazil's Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that social media companies must be held accountable for some types of content published by users on their platforms in the country, but details on the decision have yet to be resolved. Six of the 11 Supreme Court judges voted to hold platforms responsible for third-party content seen as illegal, in a decision that could result in fines against social media companies for not removing some users' posts in the country. The decision could impact the business of platforms including Meta's Facebook and Instagram, as well as TikTok, Elon Musk's X and other internet giants, such as Alphabet's Google, in a market of more than 200 million people. Only one justice so far voted to not change the current law on the matter, which says that the companies can only be found responsible for third-party content on their platforms if the firms do not comply with a legal decision ordering the content removal. Writing for the majority, Justice Gilmar Mendes said current Brazilian law represents "a veil of irresponsibility for digital platforms." "Even if they are informed of the occurrence of crimes on their platforms, they (currently) cannot be held responsible for damages caused by keeping this content online, except in the case of a court order," he said. Asked to comment, Meta sent a 2024 statement where it had said that a decision holding platforms responsible could make them "liable for virtually all types of content even without having been notified." In a statement sent before the vote which gave the court a majority, Google said the current Brazilian law regarding social media can and should be improved, "as long as procedure guarantees and criteria are set to prevent legal uncertainty and the indiscriminate content removal." TikTok and a representative of X in Brazil did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The court did not agree on the scope of the decision, such as what types of content would be considered illegal. The court's head, Luis Roberto Barroso, said he will work with the court members to find a consensus. Four judges still need to vote in the trial, which has been rolling over for months. Votes previously cast can still be changed, although that is not common. The trial is set to resume on Thursday.

Meta Takes Next Steps Towards the Development of True Artificial Intelligence

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Meta's looking to take the next major steps in AI development, which has become a key focus for Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, as he eyes a new era of digital interaction, where true artificial intelligence can be achieved. Meta's latest project on this front is its V-JEPA 2 world model, which can help computer systems understand more about their environment, in order to factor such into their responses. As explained by Meta: 'As humans, we have the ability to predict how the physical world will evolve in response to our actions or the actions of others. For example, you know that if you toss a tennis ball into the air, gravity will pull it back down. When you walk through an unfamiliar crowded area, you're making moves toward your destination, while also trying not to bump into people or obstacles along the path. We achieve this physical intuition by observing the world around us and developing an internal model of it, which we can use to predict the outcomes of hypothetical actions.' Meta's V-JEPA 2 model helps AI agents mimic this, in order to assist in their understanding of the physical world, and therefore how they should respond to additional elements. 'We trained V-JEPA 2 using video, which helped the model learn important patterns in the physical world, including how people interact with objects, how objects move in the physical world and how objects interact with other objects. When deployed on robots in our labs, we found that robots can use V-JEPA 2 to perform tasks like reaching, picking up an object and placing an object in a new location.' It's another step towards automated general intelligence (AGI), and computer systems that replicate the human brain, and can 'think' for themselves to some degree. Which remains the Holy Grail of artificial intelligence research. Right now, the current wave of generative AI tools are good at mimicking human thought, by replicating responses based on whatever data inputs they can access. But these are not actually 'intelligence,' these systems are not thinking, they're using advanced predictive models to place one letter in front of the other, based on the examples of similar inputs that they can reference. They're smart spreadsheets, they're mimics of human behavior, but there's no actual thinking involved, these systems are not interpreting the various elements and coming up with their own, novel solutions. Which is what Meta's looking to develop with its new 'superintelligence' project, for which it's hiring a range of industry experts for a bigger push into AGI development. Is AGI even possible? Nobody knows, but Meta's AI chief Yann Le Cun, who's one of the most experienced and respected minds in AI development, seems to think so. Though we're not close yet. As LeCun told the Joint Mathematics Meetings conference in March this year: 'A lot of people in the AI research and development community are perceiving the idea that perhaps we have a shot within the next decade or so of building machines that have a blueprint that might eventually reach human level intelligence. The estimates about how long it's going to take vary by huge amounts, with the most optimistic people saying that we're already there. Some people who are raising lots of funds are claiming it's going to happen next year, but I don't believe so myself.' LeCun says that, through open source development, and a focus on key models, we could develop a human-level AI intelligence framework 'within the next decade or half decade,' which would lead to systems that are capable of actual planning and reasoning. But LeCun doesn't believe that the current gen AI models are the right framework to build upon in this respect. Maybe that will be part of Meta's new project, in exploring all new ways to look at AI development, with a view to a different kind of intelligence that can assess and understand different elements. This latest project is another step in that direction, and with Meta also upping its compute power significantly, it may well be best placed to crack the code, and build real systematic intelligence. Imagine the Large Hadron Collider, but for AI development. That's what Meta's likely working towards with its new AI project.
