Oben Rorr EZ Sigma launched at ₹1.27 lakh with smart features, fast charge
Positioned as a next-generation commuter motorcycle, the Rorr EZ Sigma features hardware and software upgrades over the earlier Rorr EZ model. Key additions include a reverse mode, a 5-inch TFT display with built-in navigation, trip meter, and real-time alerts for calls, messages, and music. Oben has also introduced ergonomic changes such as a redesigned seat and new colour schemes.
The Oben Rorr EZ Sigma will compete with a growing field of electric motorcycles and premium electric scooters aimed at urban commuters. In the electric motorcycle category, its closest rivals include the Revolt RV400, priced around Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, varying by state subsidies), offering a range of approximately 150 km, a top speed of 85 km/h, and features such as a swappable battery and artificial engine sound. Another contender is the Hop Oxo, priced in the Rs 1.35 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh range, delivering up to 150 km range and 90 km/h top speed, targeting younger, style-focused urban buyers.
The model is powered by Oben's in-house LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery technology, which the company claims offers greater temperature tolerance and lifespan. Both variants deliver a top speed of 95 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The IDC-certified range is up to 175 km, with three ride modes – Eco, City, and Havoc – and fast-charging support (0–80 per cent in 1.5 hours).

Bookings have opened at Rs 2,999, with deliveries scheduled to begin on 15 August. Test rides are currently available at Oben Electric showrooms nationwide. The vehicle is also being made available via Amazon.
The Rorr EZ Sigma includes safety and connectivity features such as Unified Brake Assist, geo-fencing, battery theft lock, and a Driver Alert System. Riders will also get a one-year subscription to the updated Oben Electric app, which offers GPS-based location tracking, remote diagnostics, ride analytics, and charging station discovery across a claimed network of over 68,000 stations.
The company is also offering an optional 'Battery Protect 8/80' warranty plan at Rs 9,999, covering eight years or 80,000 km. Oben manufactures the Rorr EZ Sigma in-house and says it has streamlined distribution to reduce delivery timelines.

KSLU to get dedicated administrative building after 15 yrs
Hubballi: After more than 15 years since its establishment, Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) in Hubballi is set to have its own dedicated administrative building. The construction of the G+3 structure is under way on 2.4 acres, at an estimated cost of Rs 39.5 crore. The building is expected to be completed by May 2026. KSLU, established in Jan 2009, currently operates from a former PWD guest house that was repurposed into an administrative office. Spread over a 55-acre campus, the university offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in constitutional law, intellectual property rights, business and trade law, criminal law, and international law. While around 1,200 students study on the campus, the university has a total student strength of approximately 45,000 across the state. The total built-up area of the four-storey structure will be 94,761 sq. ft. The ground floor will be 24,440 sq. ft, first floor 20,321 sq. ft, second floor 22,255 sq. ft, and third floor 20,321 sq. ft. CM: Submit revised estimated cost for Barapullah elevated road project
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta has asked the public works department to submit the revised estimated cost for the Barapullah elevated road project to get it approved by lieutenant governor VK Saxena. The department has already spent nearly Rs 1,239 crore on the project against the sanctioned amount of Rs 1,260 crore, while a portion of the road measuring 690 metres is yet to be built. The overall cost of the 3.5-km road, connecting Sarai Kale Khan in the west of the Yamuna with Mayur Vihar in the east, is expected to exceed the sanctioned amount. The additional chief secretary of the finance department observed at the meeting of the expenditure and finance committee last week that approval was being sought only for the arbitration award of Rs 175 crore, due to the delay in completing the project. Though the elevated road was to be completed by Oct 17, 2017, the project was delayed because govt failed to acquire a portion of land owned by private individuals. The case went into arbitration, leading to an award of Rs 120 crore in favour of the contractor. The amount eventually increased to Rs 175 crore, with interest and goods and services tax added to it. To enforce the award, the contractor filed a petition in Delhi High Court . Following the court's directions, PWD paid an amount of Rs 170 crore to the contractor. Gupta has asked the department to seek legal opinion on whether the arbitration order can be challenged now. The committee also deliberated that an inquiry was needed to ascertain the loss to the govt exchequer due to payment of arbitration awards without seeking the opinion of the law department and fixing responsibility for the erring officials. The chief minister last week ordered an inquiry by the anti-corruption branch for approval and acceptance of arbitration awards by authorities "not competent to accept" and delay in execution of the project.

MCG & MCM now take AI route to boost property tax collection
Gurgaon: MCG and MCM have introduced artificial intelligence (AI) to boost revenue from property tax. MCG has so far generated a revenue of Rs 200 crore, which is around 72% of its target set for FY26, and MCM's has already crossed the Rs 29 crore-mark, the revenue it generated in the last fiscal year. Using AI, residents with outstanding dues are being identified and approached and their queries resolved. AI also assists them in paying their property tax dues. "We are using AI to boost our property tax collection. We have so far collected a revenue of Rs 200 crore in this financial year so far. Using AI, we generated a revenue of Rs 95 crore in July alone," MCG additional commissioner Yash Jaluka told TOI. This bot answers in real time. If you did not pay property tax, it will ask you what difficulties you faced and subsequently address your concerns. Before reaching out to people, we segregated the data into categories of those who promised to pay or refused to pay the taxes and those who faced difficulties in paying them. Most of the people contacted ended up paying the taxes," he added. Using AI for property tax collection was started as a pilot project in Yamunanagar, where Sinha served as the civic body commissioner before heading MCM. "We were successful in replicating the AI model here in Manesar and Gurgaon. We have collected Rs 29 crore so far, which is our income from property tax for the entire last fiscal," Sinha said. Meanwhile, residents pointed out that since MCG was generating so much revenue, it should invest money in the city's development. "The city is clearly lacking the kind of manpower and machinery it needs to function. MCG should learn from other municipal corporations and invest in the right kind of machinery," said Gauri Sarin, convener of the group Making Model Gurugram.
