Red Hot Chilli Pipers to perform at the NYS Fair

Yahoo22-04-2025
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Yes, you read that right. The Scottish rock band, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, has been added to the growing lineup of performances at this year's NYS Fair.
The group, which contains bagpipers, guitarists, keyboardists, and drummers, made their claim to fame in 2007 after winning 'When Will I Be Famous' a primetime television show in the United Kingdom.
They will be performing at Chevy Court on Wednesday, August 27 at 6 p.m.
The group has released nine albums in all, including 'Blast Live,' which was certified platinum three times in 2008, while their fourth album skyrocketed to the No. 2 spot on Amazon's Top Music Chart behind only Adele's record-breaking album '21.'
'We're always trying to bring the next big act to The Fair that will leave fairgoers feeling as if they just experienced something totally unique,' said Fair Director Julie LaFave.
The Fair starts Wednesday, August 20, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 1.

'Outlander' Cast Then Vs. Now

When Outlander first came across our screens all the way back in 2014, it drew us in with time travel, steamy hot romances, and stunning Scottish landscapes. But over the last decade, the cast of then-relatively unknown actors developed a massive fan base as we grew to love them and their characters. With the final season of Outlander coming out next year (and the prequel premiering August 8–eek!), now seems like the perfect time to take a look back at where it all began. So, here's a little 'then vs. now' of the Outlander cast (well, the ones that are still alive in the show, anyway!).

Deal: The Yaber L2s Projector is just $134.98, and it's actually quite enjoyable!

Projectors are kind of magical. Nothing quite beats enjoying a weekend movie, cozied up in your favorite blankie, in a dark room, with a projector playing a movie on your wall. The thing is, projectors were usually very expensive, but things are changing, and now you can get something like the Yaber L2s projector, which will look great and is only going for $134.98 right now! Buy the Yaber L2s Projector for just $134.98 ($65.01 off) This offer is available from Amazon, but the official seller is Woot. That said, Woot is a deals-focused website owned by Amazon, so you're buying from a reputable source. Additionally, you get a 30-day return window, and the product is in new condition. Also, only the Misty White version is on sale. The Charcoal White model is going for $259.99. Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema See price at Amazon Save $65.01 Limited Time Deal! If you walk inside my pad, you won't find a TV anywhere. Truth is, I don't have much time to enjoy one, so I own a projector, which I store away and only bring out when I can enjoy a good film. I have also taken it with me to other people's houses. Modern projectors are affordable, convenient, and look pretty good. This is why we can recommend something like the Yaber L2s to most people, and it costs a mere $134.98 right now! Our co-workers at have reviewed the Yaber L2s Projector, and while it isn't as impressive as more expensive models, they were quite happy with the value. The clean, simple, and compact design makes it very portable. However, it does not have a battery, so you'll need to plug it in to use it. This is why we don't truly consider it a portable projector. It's easy to carry if you want to use it at a friend's house, though. The projector is simple and user-friendly, though. You won't really need to worry much about maintenance, and operating it is straightforward. In terms of specs, we're looking at a pretty nice Full HD resolution with a 700-lumen brightness. Based on our experience, it is great for dark rooms, but things start getting a bit less visible once the environment gets a bit brighter. The image can be expanded up to a whopping 150 inches, turning any wall into a fun little movie theater. Considering the price and size, we were actually quite surprised by the audio quality. The couple of 8W JBL-powered speakers sound pretty good, and they get loud. Of course, they are still not as good as a good dedicated speaker, but it should be more than enough to enjoy a movie in your living room. If we had to complain about anything, it would be that it comes with no integrated smart TV OS. It's to be expected when a projector is this good and cheap, though. You can definitely get a smart TV dongle or box and plug it into the HDMI port. Honestly, you shouldn't consider any other options if you want to pay this little for a projector. It's kind of too good for the cost, especially at this discounted price. Go get it while you can! Follow

Amazon Prime Video in August 2025: highlights you can't miss

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. August is upon us, acting as more confirmation (in case you needed it) that summer is a brilliant time to sink in with your pick of the best streaming services available. For anyone with an Amazon Prime subscription, that's likely to mean Prime Video, since you get it for free with your sub. The streamer generally doesn't go longer than a couple of weeks without adding something new to watch, and this month is no exception to that rule. I've gone through everything coming to Prime Video in August 2025 and picked out a handful of top options that you'll want to know about. The Pickup Streaming from: 6 August There's nothing like a good old-fashioned action comedy, and few stars have a career to underline that fact like Eddie Murphy. He's anchored some of the best movies the genre has ever produced, and it looks like he has another really fun example on the way in The Pickup. He's paired with Pete Davidson as a pair of cash couriers who find themselves in hot water when a criminal mastermind takes aim at their armoured van. The fact that she's a recent hookup of Davidson's adds another layer of interest, and and it's pretty clear that the whole movie will be a silly slice of fun. Butterfly Streaming from: 13 August This one looks like it'll lean much harder into action than comedy, although there are clearly some light-hearted notes to Butterfly. It tells a father-daughter story with a pretty major twist – the duo in question have been separated for years after the dad (Daniel Dae Kim) was forced to fake his own death. That's the sort of thing that working in the spy business can bring about, and along the same lines, he discovers that his daughter has been brought up in the way of stealthy work by a less-than-innocent organisation. They'll have to patch things up quick if they're going to foil a world-threatening plot. The Map That Leads to You Streaming from: 20 August For those looking to sink into something really romantic, The Map That Leads to You seems perfect. It'll tell a swooning love story when it arrives late on in the month, centring around one young American's journey to Europe to see the continent with her friends. The one thing she doesn't bank on, of course, is making a deep connection with someone she meets on the road (or on the rails, given this is an inter-railing trip). The big question is, if you think you might have just met your soulmate, can you really tear yourself away to go back home to your boring old life? Sausage Party: Foodtopia Season 2 Streaming from: 13 August Finally, those who are looking for some pure silliness this month (albeit, the type of silliness that you definitely can't let your kids watch) can bite into the second season of Sausage Party: Foodtopia, the surprisingly successful spin-off from the animated movie that broke so many taboos in the form of food puns galore. Given that the whole thing is basically a vehicle for Seth Rogen and his friends to push the envelope and make jokes they couldn't get away with in live action, it's lucky that they do it so charmingly. There are too many puns to count, and some really fun punchlines – if you were a fan of the first season, this new run of episodes promises plenty more of the same. Solve the daily Crossword
