BIRMINGHAM, England ((Reuters)) -Arsenal suffered a 5-2 hammering at Aston Villa on Wednesday to give Chelsea the opportunity to win their sixth Women's Super League title in a row if they can get a point away to Manchester United later in the evening.
The Gunners, who overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit to defeat Olympique Lyonnais 5-3 on aggregate and book their spot in the Champions League final against Barcelona, were brought back down to earth with a bang by a rampant Villa side that went four goals up by the hour mark.
Stina Blackstenius and Alessia Russo reduced the deficit for the visitors, but Chasity Grant's second goal of the night gave Villa a 5-2 win that opens the door for Sonia Bompastor's Blues.
Chelsea top the standings on 51 points, six ahead of second-placed Arsenal, and a point away to Manchester United later on Wednesday will give them an unassailable seven-point lead with two games left to play.

World number one Scheffler, who came into the year's third major with three wins in his last four starts, opened with a three-over-par 73 that was his worst first-round score relative to par of his majors career. That left Scheffler in a share of 49th place, seven shots behind surprise leader Spaun and facing a stern challenge as he has never come back from outside the top 30 at the end of the first round to win an official PGA Tour event. In the opening round, the brilliant Spaun fired a four-under 66 that was the day's only bogey-free round, and the unheralded American will try to build on his hot start when he heads out from the first tee at 12:52 p.m. ET (1652 GMT). Soccer-Inzaghi leaves Pisa job after promotion to Serie A
(Reuters) -Filippo Inzaghi has left his role as Pisa manager by mutual consent, the Serie A club said on Friday, with the coach moving on just weeks after leading the Tuscan side to promotion from Italy's second tier. Inzaghi, older brother of Simone who recently left Inter Milan to manage Saudi club Al-Hilal, took Pisa back to the top flight after an absence of 34 years in his first season at the club. The 51-year-old former Italy striker began his managerial career at AC Milan where he ended his playing days, taking charge at the San Siro for one season before earning promotion from the third tier with Venezia. Inzaghi, who also brought Benevento up to Serie A, is now widely expected to become manager of Serie B club Palermo, according to Italian media reports.
