‘Gen V' Season 2 teaser: Hamish Linklater joins cast as first look adresses Chance Perdomo's death

The Hindu01-06-2025
Amazon has officially announced the return of Gen V, its college-set spinoff of The Boys, with Season 2 set to premiere on September 17, 2025. The season will begin with a three-episode drop, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday, leading up to the finale on October 22.
Along with the premiere date, Amazon released the first teaser trailer, which addresses the real-life death of cast member Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson. Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident in March 2024. In a statement following his passing, Amazon confirmed that the role would not be recast and that the story for Season 2 had been restructured to reflect his absence.
The new trailer offers a glimpse of how the show will acknowledge Perdomo's character. It features a scene with Andre's father, Polarity, confronting the new Godolkin University Dean, Cipher (Hamish Linklater), over his son's disappearance, suggesting that Vought may be hiding the truth about what happened to Andre at the end of Season 1.

Season 2 picks up with America adapting to Homelander's increasing dominance. At Godolkin University, Dean Cipher introduces a new curriculum aimed at making students more powerful, while tensions escalate between humans and Supes. Cate and Sam return as celebrated figures, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma come back to campus still reeling from the traumatic events of the previous season. A hidden program tied to the university's origins emerges, pulling Marie deeper into a mystery with far-reaching consequences.
Returning cast members include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Sean Patrick Thomas. Gen V was co-created by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, with Fazekas serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside The Boys team, including Eric Kripke and Seth Rogen.
The new season continues production under Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios.

Just A Decade Ago This Man Found Out He's Jeff Bezos' Biological Dad: 'I Changed His Diapers'

Last Updated: For Ted, remarriage of Jacklyn Bezos severed the connection, leaving him unaware that the child he once cared for had transformed into a global icon. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, penned an emotional note for his mother on Instagram after she passed away at the age of 78. The 61-year-old billionaire said Jacklyn 'Jackie" Bezos' journey into adulthood began early when she became my mother at just 17. He added that it wasn't easy, but she managed to make it all work. She tackled the role of loving me with determination, brought my wonderful dad into the picture 'a few years later". Bezos reminisced about how his mother met and fell in love with Miguel 'Mike" Bezos a few years after his birth. Mike would later adopt and raise Jeff as his own son. The Story Behind Jeff Bezos' Biological Father Inside Edition earlier reported that a named Ted Jorgensen — Bezos' biological father — lived for nearly five decades without knowing that the tech titan was his own flesh and blood. The discovery occurred in 2014 when a biographer visited Jorgensen and asked if he knew Jeff Bezos. 'The name sounds somewhat familiar, but I don't know him," Jorgensen said at that moment. Unbeknownst to him, the baby boy he once called Jeffrey Jorgensen had grown up to become the founder of Amazon and one of the world's most influential figures. This identity mystery resulted from a significant decision made years earlier. After Ted divorced Jacklyn Bezos in 1965, their infant son still carried his surname. However, three years later, Jacklyn remarried Miguel 'Mike" Bezos, who adopted Jeff, giving him a new name and identity. For Ted, this change severed the connection, leaving him unaware that the child he once cared for had transformed into a global icon. Jorgensen was taken aback by the revelation, but reconnecting turned out to be harder than he anticipated. 'Considering Jeff's status, it created a barrier that wouldn't exist if he had a more ordinary job," explained Linda, Jorgensen's wife, referring to the intense media attention and public scrutiny that made a quiet reunion impossible. Despite the prolonged silence, Jorgensen wasn't in search of fame or financial gain. His desire was straightforward— a moment of recognition and an opportunity to express regret. 'I just want to tell him that I used to change his diapers, you know? And just see him, shake his hand, and tell him he's done really well in life," he shared with Inside Edition. Regrettably, Jorgensen passed away in 2015 at the age of 70, never achieving the closure he longed for. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
