LAHAD DATU: Marine Police Force (PPM) seized 387 cartons of smuggled cigarettes from a neighbouring country, valued at RM149,318.40 excluding tax, during a raid at a mangrove area in Kampung Puyut, on Thursday. Commander of PPM Region 4 Sabah, ACP Nazri Ibrahim, said the operation at 5.20am found 238 cartons of Astro Black Menthol cigarettes and 149 cartons of A One Mild Menthol cigarettes hidden in the mangrove area. 'The raid was conducted based on PPM intelligence at the location. The cigarettes were hidden there to avoid detection by authorities. 'So far, no individual has come forward to claim ownership of the items,' he said in a statement, Friday. He added that the case will be investigated under the Customs Act 1967. Woman trapped in Kota Kinabalu collision

Kota Kinabalu: A minibus collided with a Proton Persona early Thursday at the Jalan Kepayan flyover near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, trapping a 28-year-old woman inside the car. Emergency services were alerted at 7.52am where firemen arrived five minutes later and freed the woman who was then rushed to the hospital with injuries. Advertisement The male driver of the Proton Persona, aged 30, and the male driver of the minibus, aged 56, both escaped unscathed. The operation involved 14 personnel and included units from the Fire and Rescue Department, Ministry of Health, and police. By 8.09am, the scene was secured and traffic began to clear. Runaway cow recaptured after six-hour operation in KK

The cow, which broke loose at around 8pm, could not be subdued by its owner and residents due to its aggressive behaviour. Six officers, equipped with PPE and rope tools, managed to restrain the 300kg bull with help from the community at 2.16am. Police complete recording actor-cum-singer's statement over alleged physical sexual assault

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said investigations revealed that the accused had known the girl for some time. They had been in contact before, and this was the first time the suspect had taken her to a hotel," he told reporters here today.
