A glittering new era has begun for Taylor Swift, and it's called The Life of a Showgirl. To officially reveal her next studio album, the singer will be interviewed on New Heights, the popular sports podcast hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce.
On August 11, the Kelces teased on social media that a very special guest would be joining them on Wednesday, and Swifties were quick to notice that the blacked-out silhouette resembled the singer. The image was also set against a sparkly orange background, which just so happened to match the orange theme of Taylor Nation's 12-photo carousel Instagram post teasing a new era.
Then, a cryptic countdown appeared on the pop star's website, which showed a mint-green clock against a shimmering orange backdrop. When the countdown on the website expired at 12:12 a.m. ET, a video clip was shared on Instagram featuring a snippet from her New Heights interview.
In the clip, Swift asked Jason if she could show him something. Swift then pulled out a green briefcase with the label T.S. on it. "This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl," Swift reveals. The cover was obscured, and her website also displays a blurred orange and green album cover, which will be officially revealed tonight.

What Else Do We Know About The Life Of A Showgirl So Far?
Following the album announcement, fans noticed billboards in Nashville and New York City promoting The Life of a Showgirl. They also included links to a Spotify playlist titled 'And, baby, that's show business for you!" All of the songs in the playlist were produced by the songwriting and production duo Max Martin and Shellback, hinting that they could be involved in TS12.
Fans also think that fellow pop star and Swift's friend Sabrina Carpenter will be featured on TS12. Not only did Carpenter's website feature the date August 12, 2025, but the "Espresso" singer was also included in a Taylor Nation post teasing Swift's "new era." Additionally, Swift was wearing orange when they performed together on the Eras Tour in New Orleans.
Swift has not yet announced the release date for The Life of a Showgirl. However, according to her website — which offers pre-order options for the CD with a poster ($12.99), cassette ($19.99), and vinyl ($29.99) — the album will ship by October 13, 2025. 'This is not the release date. Official release date to be announced," the website says.

Matt Rife's Makeup Ad For E.L.F. Is Facing Major Backlash Because Of His Past Jokes About Domestic Abuse

A new ad campaign from cosmetics brand e.l.f. starring comedian Matt Rife was met with more hate than laughter as observers slammed the company for choosing a celebrity who joked about domestic violence to be the face of its product line. 'Is Matt Rife here to sell us concealer for black eyes from domestic violence?' read one comment with over 10,000 likes. In the ad, Rife plays fictional injury lawyer ' alongside partner 'Schmarnes,' depicted by drag performer Heidi N Closet. The commercial was an obvious reference to attorneys Cellino & Barnes, whose ads were often seen in the Tri-State Area during the 2000s. 'Hey, girl. Has over-priced beauty hurt your wallet?' Rife says in the parody. 'I know a thing or two about red flags. And pricey makeup? You deserve better than that.' Despite the ad's fun tone, e.l.f. fans were not having it. Viewers were quick to bring up misogynistic bits from the comedian's 2023 Netflix special Matt Rife: Natural Selection. At one point in the special, he joked about a woman receiving a black eye for not cooking well. Related: Following backlash at the time, the comedian offered a stale apology, then told a 6-year-old that the boy's mom bought his Christmas presents with money she earned from OnlyFans. The many commenters attacking the e.l.f. ad featuring Rife included some beauty influencers with massive followings: 'aaaaaaandddd you lost me... Matt Rife out of ALL people?' creator nikkietutorials said in a comment under e.l.f's TikTok video. Related: 'ELF IMMA HOLD UR HAND WHEN I SAY THIS…just cuz u got a drag QUEEN in the mix DOES NOT MEAN ITS A GREEN LIGHT FOR MATT RIFEEEGEE??!?,' @kristians_makeup said on Instagram. Many TikTok users posted their own videos expressing their disbelief over Rife's cameo. One called the ad campaign a 'slap in the face,' while another showed someone throwing out their e.l.f. products. @realreneellynn / Via That said, when Rife posted the ad on his own Instagram account, his fans praised him. Related: Rife's e.l.f. ad comes weeks after American Eagle faced scrutiny over its Sydney Sweeney jeans campaign, which some people said promoted white supremacy. Regardless of the original intent, American Eagle's campaign became a cultural debate as right-wingers and MAGA officials commended Sweeney and the ad. Related: Some questioned why Rife, who is not known for making beauty content, is featured in the commercial at all. Australian beauty influencer Jill Clark, who has hundreds of thousands of followers, said she is officially pulling her support for e.l.f., stating, 'I stand with women, period.' @jillie_clarkk / Via 'Did nobody sit there and say, 'Hey, in 2025, when there is an absolute epidemic of violence against women, let's not choose to have the face of our campaign be a man who jokes about domestic violence. Let's not platform Matt Rife,'' Clark said in a video garnering over 160,000 likes. This article originally appeared on HuffPost. Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity:

Taylor Swift reveals album cover, release date for 'The Life of a Showgirl'

Taylor Swift is in her podcaster era. The pop superstar made her highly anticipated debut as a guest on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's "New Heights" podcast on Wednesday, Aug. 13. As the episode began, her website updated with an album cover and release date of Oct. 3. "The Life of a Showgirl" cover shows Swift underwater in a bedazzled top. Four variants are available for preorder. They are: Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, have hosted the "New Heights" podcast since 2022, but this was the first time Swift has been a guest on the show since she and Travis began their highly publicized romance in 2023. Swift chose Kelce's podcast as a platform to reveal her next album and usher in a new era, rather than do so on her own social media channels or at a live event. The singer has been strategic about when and where she reveals new music in the past, and she announced her most recent album, "The Tortured Poets Department," on stage at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Before that, Swift revealed her 2022 album "Midnights" in a speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift joins Travis Kelce on 'my favorite podcast' in latest 'New Heights' clip Swift's fans had been eagerly anticipating the start of her next era after the singer wrapped her wildly popular Eras Tour in December. Her previous album, "The Tortured Poets Department," dropped in April 2024 to critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for album of the year. Taylor Swift album comes after music catalog ownership announcement "The Life of a Showgirl" will be Swift's first time releasing new music since she became the owner of her entire catalog. In May, she revealed she gained ownership of all her old albums following a dispute with former music manager Scooter Braun. "All of the music I've ever made now belongs to me," she said at the time. Taylor Swift announces new album: What to know about 'The Life of a Showgirl' Before this, Swift had been in the process of rerecording her first six albums so that she would own all of her music. Swift's self-titled 2006 debut album and her 2017 album "Reputation" were the only ones that had not yet been rereleased. In her May announcement, the pop star told fans that she had already rerecorded "Taylor Swift" and may still put it out. She also said she had not yet finished rerecording "Reputation" but still planned to release previously unheard "vault" tracks from that original album. "Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about," she wrote in a letter to fans. "But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now."
