and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
It is being the called spiritual sequel to Basu's popular 2007 film 'Life... In A Metro'. Just like that film, this one too gives us a slice-of-life story about different people and their tangled relationships. Though the film started with a calm pace at the box office, it picked up quite well in its second weekend and is now inching closer to the Rs 40 crore mark.
A decent start in cinemas
As per early Sacnilk, 'Metro... In Dino' had a decent start in cinemas.
In its first seven days, the film collected about Rs 26.85 crore across India. It began its journey on a fair note, earning Rs 3.5 crore on its opening Friday. Saturday brought in better numbers with Rs 6 crore, and by Sunday, it reached its first high point with a collection of Rs 7.25 crore.

Wednesday brought in Rs 2.35 crore and Thursday was close behind at Rs 2.25 crore. By the end of its first week, the film had made nearly Rs 27 crore.
Big boost on second Saturday
When the film entered its second weekend, things began to look brighter. On day 8, which was a Friday again, early estimates suggested it earned Rs 2.25 crore. But it was on day 9, the Saturday, that the film got a lovely boost. It collected around Rs 4.65 crore that day, showing that audiences were still keen to watch this slice-of-life drama.
Day 10 collection
The good run continued on day 10. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 4.75 crore on its second Sunday. This pushed the total collection to about Rs 38.55 crore. This means 'Metro... In Dino' is now quite close to touching the Rs 40 crore mark.
Occupancy on day 10
On Sunday, 13th July, 2025, 'Metro... In Dino' had an overall 44.79% occupancy. Morning shows started slower at 19.24%, but afternoon shows jumped to 55.30%.
Evening shows went even higher to 66.24%, before night shows settled at 38.36%.
'Metro... In Dino' review
'The Times of India' gave the film a balanced review, highlighting both what worked and what didn't. The review noted, "Despite being largely pleasant, some tracks don't quite add up, feel uneven and don't know where to end. After an engaging build up, the second half feels a tad stretched. You also wish the story scratched the surface a little more, especially for Konkona-Neena Gupta track, where the actors have the potential and gravitas to dig deeper.
"
At the same time, the review praised the film for bringing back something Bollywood has been missing. It said, "There has been a scarcity of love stories in Bollywood and Metro In Dino, elevated by some fine performances, fills that gap perfectly. It is a breezy, intimate watch tailor-made for a rainy day."
