After capturing the mass market with the giant SUV XUV700, Mahindra is all set to bring the updated avatar to the Indian market. A viral video of the test mule surfaced on the internet, revealing an overall look, significant updates and upcoming changes.
The company has not revealed an exact launch date as of yet. However, some reports suggested the brand might introduce the upcoming offering somewhere in 2026. It is likely to become more expensive as compared to the current version, all thanks to new features, latest technology and enhancements.

The testing clip has been shared by Car News India. According to the post, the upcoming spied in heavy camouflage, flaunting big updates. The model is expected to come with a new set of alloy wheels, which makes it look more aggressive than ever.
The front grille is also likely to get slight nip-and-tuck updates with unchanged side profile, featuring the same flush door handle and decent-sized cladding.
Notable Updates
When it comes to notable updates, the list includes an improved 12.3-inch triple display setup, inspired by the Mahindra XEV 9e, rear ventilated seats, an additional wireless phone charger, and improved seat cushioning, among others. Apart from this, the vehicle will remain equipped with trending features like wireless car connect technology, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone auto climate control, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a 6-way powered driver's seat with memory, and ventilated front seats.

Under the hood, the customers might not see any changes as the SUV might use the same powertrain as the current model. It is expected to be offered in both 2-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel with front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive system.

The UK government expects bigger inroads of up to $240 million (about ₹2,076 crore) in auto parts and engine exports to India, surpassing luxury cars, after its free-trade agreement with India. The pact opens up the Indian market for companies including GKN Automotive, Cosworth and Ricardo Plc, among others. According to the UK government's assessment, auto component exports will jump by about £190 million or 150%, suggesting that auto parts and engines to be a key winner for Britain as part of the trade deal. While India's auto component industry doesn't see it as a challenge, the UK's assessment suggests a spike in imports from India in the next few years. Tariff cuts, mutual benefits Under the tariff agreement, most auto parts such as brakes, axles, airbags, suspensions, and engine components imported from the UK will see a gradual reduction in duties from 16% to 0% over 10 years. In return, the UK has agreed to waive 8.5% customs duty on Indian auto component imports. 'With tariffs on components set to be significantly reduced, Indian manufacturers- particularly those supplying to global OEMs (original equipment makers), are well-positioned to expand their footprint in the UK market." India has also opened up the market for luxury car imports from the UK. Total auto imports from the UK stood around $196 million in FY25, as per commerce ministry data. Industry outlook Better market access and competition from British players come at a time when the government is working on a plan to boost exports of the country's component players to better integrate them in global supply chains. According to an industry consultant working with auto component players, there hasn't been any feeling of the FTA having a disruptive impact on the industry. "In conversations with executives at auto component makers, there is no sentiment that the FTA will have a disruptive impact for the Indian players due to opening up of the market," the person said. Strategic fit for India The country's leading auto component body, the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and many component players said the free-trade agreement will create more opportunities for the domestic industry. "The deal is a significant milestone for the Indian auto component sector, unlocking new opportunities in exports, R&D collaboration, and sustainable manufacturing," said Nirmal K Minda, executive chairman at Uno Minda. 'It also aligns seamlessly with India's Make in India vision, strengthening our role in global supply chains." Amit Kalyani, vice-chairman and joint managing director, Bharat Forge Ltd, said, 'Indian manufacturers can now tap into the UK market with greater competitiveness, improving their global footprint." In financial year 2024-25, auto component exports stood at $22.9 billion against imports of $22.4 billion. Among the largest exported components, the country dominates in engine parts shipped to various markets, including North America and Europe. Over $7 billion worth of exports went to the North American region alone in the last financial year.

Juspay-backed Namma Yatri's new feature to promote public transport
Bengaluru: Open mobility platform Namma Yatri, backed by fintech firms Juspay, Google, and Blume Ventures, has launched a new feature to promote public transport and reduce traffic congestion in the city. The new feature, Namma Transit, will help users check the best available routes from origin to destination and choose shorter and more cost-effective journeys. The ride-hailing firm will look to monetise the service as it scales, chief growth officer Shan M.S. told Mint on the sidelines of the launch event on Friday. 'It has to be sustainable. There are many monetisation models to consider, and we will evaluate them based on how the service scales. Right now, the idea is to reduce the number of private vehicles on the road.' The new feature will offer real-time information on which metro station to head to, which platform and gate to use, and when to switch modes. This is similar to details available on Google Maps, but more personalized for Indian road routes and metro timings. Namma Transit is not expected to hurt Namma Yatri's core business model of cab and auto-hailing, as the initial stages of the rollout will incentivise auto drivers to accept rides to and from metro stations. 'First-mile and last-mile transport will become the core of all auto rides. Drivers loyal to metro rides will get the benefit of more rides,' Shan said. The company envisions city development through a 70% public transport share, a 50% reduction in commute time and emissions, and improved first/last mile access, it said. Through its no-commission model for auto and cab drivers, it has completed over 1 lakh rides to date. Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad stand out among the top cities. In July last year, Namma Yatri secured ₹ 92 crore ($11 million) in a pre-series A funding round led by early-stage investors such as Blume Ventures and Antler. The round gave the company a post-money valuation of $55 million. Google also participated. In an interview with Mint, the company had said it plans to strengthen its presence in more than 15 tier-2 cities in south India, such as Mangalore, Kottayam, Madurai and Salem, among others, over the next few months, Shan had added.
