Caitlin Clark reportedly sustained bone bruise in ankle during workout on Aug. 7 in addition to her lingering groin injury
The Indiana Fever star sustained a bone bruise in her left ankle during a workout on Aug. 7, according to Fever reporters Scott Agness and Chloe Peterson. Per Peterson's report, the bone bruise is "mild," and Clark would still be sidelined with the groin injury regardless of the ankle injury.
The news of the bone bruise two weeks after it reportedly happened further muddies Clark's status for the remainder of the season. Prior to the news on Wednesday, Fever coach Stephanie White offered an update to media that didn't provide any clarity.
'Until she can get into practice, and until you guys see her in practice, it's really status quo, same as same as we have been,' White said.
Clark remained sidelined during the practice session that was open to media and did not speak with reporters.

Two Lakers preseason games will be on national television
A little over six weeks from now, the Los Angeles Lakers will open their preseason schedule for the 2025-26 NBA season. That schedule will become a bit hectic, as it features a set of back-to-back games and a stretch of four games in six days, but it will give fans an opportunity to see the intriguing roster the team has put together before wins and losses start to officially count. Two of those preseason contests will be shown nationwide on ESPN, which will allow Lakers fans outside of the greater Los Angeles area to tune in live. The team's Oct. 5 matchup against the Golden State Warriors and its Oct. 15 game against the Dallas Mavericks will be televised on the network. These are obviously two marquee matchups. The first will feature Stephen Curry, and the second will give Luka Doncic the opportunity to take on his former teammates, as well as allow LeBron James to take the court against former teammates Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell and Max Christie. The Lakers' regular season begins on Oct. 21 at Arena versus the Warriors. That game will be shown on NBC.
