The Kansas City Chiefs were at the forefront of making and breaking records, while standing tall on the receiving end. He kick-started the training camp this week, dismissing the retirement rumors. The 10-time Pro Bowl tight end even looked a bit more serious and focused, heading toward his 12th year with the Chiefs.
But this time, he was seen wearing another hat. Yes, his acting skills in Happy Gilmore 2 are making waves everywhere outside the field.
It was just a day since the sports comedic drama released, but Travis already started to trigger some big applause from the industry leaders.
The co-writer and co-star, Adam Sandman, told Entertainment Weekly, '
Travis is honestly, he came in, he hung out with us a couple of days. He was just a great, great actor.''
In the movie, the

In Oscar's daydream, he envisioned Kelce (his former boss) tied shirtless to a pole before leaving him to be attacked by a wild, hungry bear. But the intrigue here is, Oscar toasted him in honey before the bear sneaked in. It's not rocket science to understand that Kelce had to undergo a tough challenge to carry out the role of a victim, but he did it with grace, with a true sportsman's spirit.
Adam Sandman gushed about Travis Kelce's resilience as an actor
"He showed up literally the day after a game and he had to take his shirt off — I think it was the first day he was there — and he takes his shirt off and goes, 'Oh, I got a bruise from yesterday, I think,''
Adam spilled out how casually Kelce took a tear to his body without making it a big deal—a commendable job for a non-actor.
''He's like, 'That was nothing, that happens.' But what a guy. He's funny, just a great personality. Just somebody that you'd want to hang out with all day long, and that he feels like he's your buddy,''
Adam continued, fueling the hope of Kelce transitioning to a full-time acting career.
'He feels like he will protect you. He feels like he's going to be nice to your family. He's got everything. And as an actor, swear to God, he could be a superstar if he wanted to do that."
In 2020, the TE first set foot on the screen in the role of Showtime's 'Moonbase 8,' but there he didn't adapt to anyone's character. He got to play himself. Kelce hosted Saturday Night Live as a rare athlete to host a sketch comedy series. So, he's not foreign to the world of light, camera and action. But what he did at Happy Gilmore 2 was outright special. The grit, the passion, the dedication almost blurred the gap between his full-time field role and an occasional screenplay.
He owns a spot in the chair of the veterans, rightfully.
