Caitlin Clark Reacts to Indiana Pacers' Comeback Performance in Game 1 of NBA Finals
WNBA superstar and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark had a simple yet powerful five-word reaction on social media following the Indiana Pacers' thrilling Game 1 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. The Pacers swung home-court advantage after Tyrese Haliburton scored the game-winning mid-range jump shot to seal a 111-110 victory at Paycom Center.

'You can't make it up,' Clark wrote in all caps in a post on X.
Clark has been a dedicated supporter of the Pacers throughout the season and has been spotted at several home games for the Pacers this postseason.
The 2024 All-WNBA First Team guard describes the Pacers as the 'greatest comeback team' she has ever seen.
Each comeback Indiana has staged throughout this postseason has followed a familiar script: erasing a late double-digit deficit, capped by a phenomenal clutch shot from Tyrese Haliburton—who is a perfect 4-for-4 in the final two seconds of fourth quarters and overtimes in these playoffs.

Remember when Haliburton was voted the most overrated player by some of his NBA peers?
Those same people should call him Mr. Clutch.
'When it comes to the moments, [Tyrese Haliburton] wants the ball,' Pacers Center Myles Turner said. 'He wants to be the one to hit that shot. He doesn't shy away from the moment, and it's very important this time of the year to have a go-to guy. He just keeps finding a way, and we keep putting the ball in the right positions, and the rest is history.'
In his NBA Finals debut, Haliburton will look to continue his legendary quest—to silence doubters and hoist the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy.

Caitlin Clark's Status for Fever-Sun Game Revealed
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Indiana Fever are set to face off against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday afternoon in a huge road matchup with playoff implications. Caitlin Clark's team has been struggling to stay afloat in the race for the postseason. Over their last five games, the Fever have mustered up a 1-4 record. They have been quickly falling in the WNBA playoff standings. With that being said, they can't be blamed much. Clark has been unable to play since July 15 in a game due to her groin injury. That matchup happened to be against the Sun. Photo byFans have been anxiously awaiting Clark's return to the court. For those hoping to see her play against Connecticut today, an official decision has been made. Read more: Fever Superstar Caitlin Clark Gets Updated Return Projection From ESPN Unfortunately, Clark has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Sun. Earlier this week, Indiana head coach Stephanie White spoke out with an update about Clark. "She's been able to get a little bit more in her full court running with all of her body weight," White said. "It's really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She's been able to do a little bit more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice yet." That is not an extremely great update. Clark hasn't even returned to the practice court. Before she can get back into a WNBA game, she'll need to ramp up from a conditioning perspective and test out her groin to make sure that it's fully healed. To this point in the season, the Fever have played in 34 games. Clark has only been able to participate in 13 of them. Even when she has played, the injuries she has dealt with this year have hampered her ability to produce big numbers. In the 13 games she has played, Clark has averaged just 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, five rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. She has shot 36.7 percent overall and 27.9 percent from three-point range. She was supposed to be an MVP candidate and have Indiana looking like a championship contender. It's unknown if Clark will be able to return this season, but it's now known that today is not the day of that hopeful return. You Won't Believe the Last Time Scottie Scheffler Paid for a Round of Golf
You Won't Believe the Last Time Scottie Scheffler Paid for a Round of Golf originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the PGA Tour heads toward the FedExCup playoffs, Scottie Scheffler stands atop the leaderboard of professional golf. The 29-year-old American has claimed four major championships (two this year) and secured his grip on the World No. 1 ranking for 151 weeks, an era of dominance that few in the sport can rival. But away from the tournament fairways and leaderboards, Scheffler revealed on Wednesday a slice of life that many fans wouldn't expect from the world's top player. Asked when he last paid for a round, Scheffler joked, "It's been a while. I remember the last time I didn't get to pay for a round…one of my buddies in the pro shop had to pay for a round. That was pretty funny." He recounted walking into a local public course about five years ago, asking his friend at the pro shop to ring him up for tee times. The pro said, "Oh no no, you're good," only to turn to Scheffler's friend and say, "Actually, you gotta pay." Scheffler laughed at the memory, noting that they still tease his friend about footing the bill. Scottie Scheffler's Early PGA Career: From Junior Star to Tour Rookie Scheffler's rise began long before he turned pro in 2018. As a youth, he won 90 of 136 junior events on the Northern Texas PGA circuit and captured the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur title. At the University of Texas, he helped the Longhorns to Big 12 championships and earned Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year honors in 2015. On the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019, Scheffler's play propelled him to Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Finals points list winner, granting him full PGA Tour status for 2020. He wasted little time making waves as a rookie, finishing fourth on the money list and earning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. The Scottie Scheffler Breakthrough Year: 2022 and Beyond The 2022 season marked Scheffler's true arrival on golf's biggest stage. In the span of three months, he notched his first PGA Tour victory, ascended to world No. 1, hoisted his first green jacket at the Masters Tournament and won PGA Tour Player of the Year. That breakthrough season included four wins, an astonishing run that made him the first golfer since Arnold Palmer in 1960 (and only the second ever) to win that many events, including the Masters, in that span of time to begin the season. He backed that up by winning The Players Championship in both 2023 and 2024, becoming the first player to secure back-to-back titles at the sport's "fifth major." At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Scheffler added an individual gold medal to his resume and capped the year by clinching the inaugural FedExCup title at East Lake Golf Club. This season, he's won four events: The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, Memorial Tournament and Open Championship, joining Tiger Woods as the only two players to win the Open Championship while ranked No. 1 in the world.
