Hindustani Bhau On First Raksha Bandhan Since Shefali Jariwala's Death: 'Khudh Rakhi Bandhi Tere Naam Ki'
Raksha Bandhan was a bittersweet day this year for those closest to Shefali Jariwala. The actress, best known for her stint in Bigg Boss 13, shared a sibling-like bond with Hindustani Bhau (Vikas Phatak) – one that went beyond the reality show and lasted until her sudden death.
On Saturday, Bhau posted an emotional tribute to Shefali on Instagram. Alongside a throwback picture with her, he wrote, 'Happy Rakshabandhan Beta. Aaj Maine Khudh Rakhi Bandhi Tere Naam Ki. Miss You." The post was set to Dhaagon Se Baandhaa, a heartfelt track from Akshay Kumar's film Raksha Bandhan.
The two first met inside the Bigg Boss house, where they instantly clicked. From then on, Bhau would visit her every year for Raksha Bandhan so she could tie him a rakhi. This year marked the first time he carried out the ritual without her.
Shefali's husband Parag Tyagi also marked Raksha Bandhan this year in a deeply emotional way. In a video now going viral, Parag could be seen tying a rakhi to their beloved pet dog on behalf of his late wife, Shefali Jariwala. The heartwarming yet heartbreaking clip has touched fans across social media.
In the video, Parag carefully ties the rakhi around their peg dog, Simmba's paw while performing the rituals affectionately. Parag also made it a point to tie a rakhi on the wrist of Ram, probably their staff member, marking the festival in the wake of Shefali Jariwala's death.
'Pari, you used to tie Rakhi to Our baby Simba and our Ram. I want you to keep doing it through me so today I tied Rakhi to Simba and Ram from ur side.. Now I am going to fulfil all ur duties… Love you till our last breath," wrote Parag while sharing the heart-wrenching video, also featuring a big portrait of himself and Shefali in the backdrop.
Parag has often taken to social media to share memories of his late wife. Recently, he decorated the walls of their Mumbai home with framed photographs capturing moments from their life together, including pictures with Simba. He has also expressed how both he and their pet continue to struggle with the void she left behind.
For friends and family, Raksha Bandhan will never quite be the same. But through small rituals, heartfelt posts, and cherished memories, they are keeping Shefali's spirit alive.
Shefali Jariwala Death
Shefali's sudden death at age 42 was reportedly due to cardiac arrest. Known as the 'Kaanta Laga Girl" after rising to fame with the early 2000s music video remix, Shefali went on to appear in Salman Khan's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and took part in reality shows like Nach Baliye with Parag and Bigg Boss 13, where she became a household name once again.
In the days after her death, fans and close friends were devastated — but many were especially moved by how deeply their dog Simba was affected. Parag had earlier shared that Simba wasn't doing well emotionally, and even participated in traditional rituals that are usually carried out by a son.

Why is BLACKPINK's Lisa facing 'sexual harassment' accusations from Kentaro Sakaguchi's fans? All we know about Dream controversy
Lisa of BLACKPINK recently released a visually stunning and emotionally raw short film titled Dream, where she stars opposite acclaimed Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi. While the project itself was meant to capture themes of love, loss, and longing, it's an off-camera moment between the two leads that has stirred a heated conversation online, even sparking 'sexual harassment' claims. Kentaro Sakaguchi's fans accuse Lisa of 'sexual harassment' A behind-the-scenes photo, shared by Lisa herself on her Instagram account, from the shoot of Dream has been circulating online, showing Lisa biting Kentaro Sakaguchi's arm while the two were off-camera. While many found the gesture playful, the photo has now ignited controversy online. In Japanese online spaces, some users criticised the gesture, calling it unprofessional or even labelling it as sexual harassment. One viral comment questioned, 'What if the roles were reversed?' suggesting that male celebrities wouldn't be excused in similar situations. Japanese netizens bully Lisa online Ever since the now-controversial photo went viral, some Japanese users have launched aggressive online smear campaigns targeting the BLACKPINK star. What began as criticism over a single moment quickly escalated, with individuals digging up old videos of Lisa and flooding social media with harsh comments and insinuations. These resurfaced clips—completely unrelated to the Dream project—have been used to frame Lisa in an unflattering light, sparking concern among fans who see the attacks as excessive, targeted, and deeply unfair. Many have called the behaviour outright bullying, urging others to step back and consider context before fuelling the fire. LISA receives racist commens & wishes for her to d*e EVERYWHERE: Weibo, IG, Twitter, even VLIVE where she clearly saw the comment SINCE EVER. Fans emphasised that chemistry between co-stars often requires a close bond, both on and off screen. Others pointed out that playful gestures, like the bite, may have been a sign of comfort or camaraderie, not meant to be dissected in public discourse. nah I'm acc sick ??? these japanese people are calling her all kinds of names in the qrts they're worse than the little sevens 😟😟 Lisa I need u to never work with a man again until we figure out what's going on More about Dream At the heart of it all is Dream, the short film itself, a poetic, 5-minute piece released on August 13, 2025, as part of Lisa's solo music project.
