White Lotus' star Sam Nivola proudly responds to ‘nepo baby' tag, says he earned roles on his own

When Variety asked him about being a "nepo baby," he laughed and said, "Other than my genes, I don't think I can attribute much of my success to my parents. I feel proud that I've done it for myself, and sometimes in spite of them."
Sam Nivola said that, with his first role, his dad's agent was not called to approach anyone; it was done by him alone.
He added that he had not wanted to give anyone an excuse to say that anything he had achieved was because of anyone other than himself, and he expressed pride in that.
When Sam, who is now 21 years old, left Columbia after just one semester of studying Latin and film, Emily and Alessandro were even more "upset."
He said that his parents had been upset and had been totally scared, which was understandable. It was added that he had not been happy at the time because everything in him could not be dedicated to acting.
