Morgan Wallen has claimed the top spot on the U.S. album charts with his latest release, I'm the Problem, marking the year's biggest album debut.
The two-hour collection, which includes 37 tracks, earned 493,000 units in its opening week, according to Luminate, surpassing previous records held by The Weeknd, whose album debuted with 490,000 units in January 2025.
In addition to its impressive sales, I'm the Problem also shattered streaming records for 2025, amassing 462.63 million official on-demand streams. This marks the largest streaming debut of the year, though it still falls short of Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department, which racked up 891.37 million streams in its first week in 2024.
Wallen's album also posted strong physical sales, moving 133,000 copies in its first week, making it the largest sales frame for any country album in 2025. This achievement places it fourth overall for the year's biggest sales week across all genres.
In other chart news, Jin's Echo makes a notable debut at No. 3 with 43,000 units earned, marking the BTS member's highest-charting solo album to date. Echo's strong debut comes on the heels of Jin's earlier solo success with Happy in 2024, which peaked at No. 4.
SZA's SOS climbs to No. 2, while Kendrick Lamar's GNX rises to No. 5. Other notable entries in the Top 10 include Sleep Token's Even in Arcadia and Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet.

Taylor Swift music surges on streaming charts after reclaiming master rights

Taylor Swift has successfully repurchased her entire music catalog from Shamrock Capital, ending a years-long battle over ownership. The pop star revealed the news Friday in a message to fans, describing it as reclaiming her 'life's work.' This move triggered a massive resurgence in streaming numbers. The original versions of Reputation and Taylor Swift—often referred to by fans as the "stolen versions"—have returned to the top of Apple Music's Top 100 Albums chart, according to data from Forbes, Pop Vortex, and Pop Base. At one point, all 15 of Swift's studio albums reportedly charted within the platform's top 100. The catalog's performance was so strong that it knocked Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem from the top spot. Miley Cyrus also entered the conversation, landing in the top five with her latest album Something Beautiful. For years, Swift re-recorded her early albums to reclaim ownership after her master recordings were sold to Scooter Braun and later to Shamrock Capital. She has already released Fearless (Taylor's Version), Speak Now, Red, and 1989, leaving only Reputation and her 2006 self-titled debut without re-recorded versions. Despite fan speculation, Swift revealed she has no immediate plans to release Reputation (Taylor's Version). In a statement, she explained the album was deeply personal and creatively difficult to revisit: 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first six that I thought couldn't be improved upon.' However, Swift hinted that vault tracks from Reputation may eventually be released. She also noted that the debut album has already been re-recorded and could be shared when the time feels right, not out of longing, but as a celebration.

Although she appeared visibly startled, the singer remained composed and did not react aggressively. Many praised SZA for handling the situation with grace, while others urged concertgoers to be more mindful during live events. As of now, SZA has not issued a public statement regarding the incident, and it's unclear whether the person responsible was identified or removed from the venue. The incident follows a growing trend of fans throwing objects at performers — something artists like Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles, and Drake have also experienced in recent years. Currently on tour promoting her latest project, SOS, SZA continues to draw massive crowds across the country. Fans hope the event won't change her approach to connecting personally with audiences during shows.

Morgan Wallen's new album dominates Billboard with ‘What I Want' featuring Tate McRae at No. 1

Morgan Wallen's latest track, What I Want, featuring Tate McRae, has made a huge splash by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The pop ballad, which sees Wallen and McRae harmonizing about an on-again, off-again relationship, helped propel Wallen's new album, I'm The Problem, to the top of the Billboard 200 as well. The album's success marks a major milestone for the country artist, whose release garnered 31.2 million streams in its opening week and claimed the largest debut of 2025 with 493,000 units earned, surpassing The Weeknd's January album launch. What I Want marks Wallen's fourth Hot 100 No. 1 hit, while it is McRae's first time at the top, following her successful track 'Greedy' that peaked at No. 3 earlier this year. The song is part of Wallen's two-hour-long album, which also features other chart-toppers like Just in Case and I'm The Problem. The overwhelming success of the album comes on the back of record-breaking numbers for streaming, where it leads the year with 462.63 million on-demand streams. -Instagram. Despite the massive success of What I Want, Tate McRae's collaboration with Wallen was initially met with a lukewarm response from some of her fans. When McRae hinted at the pairing with Wallen on Instagram, the news quickly drew attention, with social media reactions questioning her decision to team up with a controversial figure like Wallen. this might not be a career suicide but this is reputation suicide — anshi !
