Heartbreaking Sarah update in Emmerdale ITVX release as complications arise

Metro26-06-2025
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Utterly devastating scenes aired in tonight's episode of Emmerdale, as Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) was told she can no longer carry a child.
Sarah has spent the majority of this week feeling hopeful about her future. After agreeing to Jacob Gallagher's (Joe-Warren Plant) idea of being her sperm donor for the IVF, Sarah felt excited about her next steps.
All she had to do was get her operation out of the way following her cervical cancer diagnosis, and she'd be ready to completely focus on her IVF journey and dream of being a mum.
As Sarah prepared herself for the operation, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) arrived, ready to support her. The two characters ended up having a really moving conversation about their connection. Sarah called Charity strong, and said she's been a better mum to her than her actual mother Debbie, who now lives in Australia.
As lovely as it was, things quickly changed when the IVF was brought up. Sarah spotted the look on Charity's face, and realised that she still didn't think her plan was a good idea.
In Charity's eyes, Sarah had barely thought about motherhood. Yes, she had imagined how lovely it would be to bring a child into the world but according to Charity, Sarah hadn't thought about the stress her body would be put through, and the relentless challenges that come with looking after a small human.
The argument was not resolved, unfortunately, as Sarah was wheeled away to theatre in the middle of their clash. While she waited, Charity became consumed with guilt over the row, and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) of all people did his best to make her feel better.
Moments later, Sarah's surgeon arrived to reveal some news.
As Sarah woke up, Charity and Cain stood beside the bed as she was told a complication occurred during surgery.

2 ITV Emmerdale stars rushed to hospital after drastic diet

Next week, villager Gabby Thomas, played by Rosie Bentham, will faint behind the wheel of her car after attempting a risky diet. She does this to lose weight ahead of her engagement party and starts to see some early results. Two Emmerdale favourites to be rushed to hospital next week after 'drastic' diet However, her hunger begins to catch up with her on the ITV show, leaving her irritable and completely exhausted. The diet involves her ditching regular food for quadruple black coffee, providing her with caffeine, but leaving her starved for fuel and nutrition. A dangerously tired Gabby will then attempt to drive her car, and is joined by Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), who is recovering from major surgery. According to The Sun, Emmerdale actress Rosie teased: "Gabby wants this picture-perfect day, and her insecurities are coming out. "She starts crash dieting and drinking a hell of a lot of coffee, and putting exercise at the front of her mind. She takes things too drastically. "It's a recipe for disaster. Gabby hasn't been eating so feels very tired and dizzy, and faints behind the wheel, which causes her to swerve." Sarah will be forced to hit the brakes, risking her fresh stitches, but both women end up in a bad way and are rushed to the hospital. Discussing the new development, Rosie said: "At the hospital, Gabby is diagnosed with low blood sugar. Recommended Reading: "The women in her life tell her how ridiculous it is that she's risking her health and her life for one day, one dress. "Then Vinny comes in and talks some sense into her. "It solidifies their desire to get married and put their priorities right." Emmerdale is available to watch live and on demand via ITV and ITVX.

More info Former Strictly Come Dancing star Jo Wood has admitted that the show gave her a 'confidence boost' following her split from Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. The star, 70, appeared on Thursday's (July 3) episode of Loose Women alongside panellists Christine Lampard, Sunetra Sarker, Kelly Brook and Gloria Hunniford as she promoted her new novel, The Resurrection of Flo. Just minutes into the chat, Gloria pointed out: 'When you read through it there are great similarities some may say between your own life because it's about a woman who has been married for 30 years, which you were to Ronnie.' She then asked: 'How difficult was it for you to re-invent yourself after your long marriage?' Jo admitted: 'Well It didn't take too long fortunately because I was offered Strictly Come Dancing and I think for me it was a wonderful confidence boost. (Image: ITV) 'I had been a wife and mother for all those years and I suddenly was dancing with Brendon Cole and it really helped me become me again so it didn't take too long." She continued: 'The book is about finding yourself and I think so many women go through a break up or lose their husband. "I bumped into a friend of mine and whilst I was thinking about what a great story, she said that she split up with her husband and she said to me 'my life is over Jo isn't it?' I said 'no it's not'. 'Just because you're in your 50s it doesn't mean that your life is over you can still get back out there and I hope she has. I sort of thought about all those things when I was writing it and there are things in there that I think are important to do when you become single.' (Image: ITV) The star admitted: 'Forgiveness, that is very important I think. Forgive yourself and the one that ran off and I think that is very important. "It's a very tough thing to do but if you mean it, it sets you free because by not forgiving you are tied to that person but by forgiving you let it go.' Christine asked: 'How did you do it? Was it family and friends who helped you with that or was it something you tackled by yourself?' Jo revealed: 'I was fortunate enough to have my family of course around me.' The former model married guitarist Ronnie, 76, in 1985 and the pair went on to have two children together Leah, 45, and Tyrone, 40. Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
