Premalu 2 Delayed, Naslen-Mamitha's Film Faces Production Setback
Fans waiting for Premalu 2 will have to be patient a little longer. The sequel to the hit Malayalam rom-com Premalu has been delayed, and there's no confirmation yet on when it will go on floors. Actor and filmmaker Dileesh Pothan, who co-produced Premalu, shared the update in a recent interview.
Speaking to The Cue, Pothan said, 'Our next immediate project won't be 'Premalu 2', it's another directorial venture of Girish AD." He also added that 'Premalu 2 is halted at the moment" and they're unsure when the team will start working on it.

This comes as a disappointment to many who were eagerly waiting for the continuation of Sachin and Reenu's story. The sequel was announced in April 2024, soon after Premalu became a massive hit in theatres. But since then, there haven't been any major updates about its progress.
Released in early 2024, Premalu surprised everyone with its fresh storytelling, relatable humour, and adorable lead pair. It followed the story of Sachin, a young engineering graduate from Kerala who, after not getting a visa, moves to Hyderabad. There, he meets Reenu, and what follows is a sweet and chaotic love story.
Naslen and Mamitha Baiju won hearts with their chemistry. The film also had Sangeeth Prathap, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Shyam Mohan, and Mathew Thomas in important roles. It was backed by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2024, garnering more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
The director of the film Girish AD had announced the news of the sequel during Premalu's success party in 2024, which was held in Kochi. According to him, the audience will get to see 'more fun and energy than Premalu".
Naslen was last seen in Alappuzha Gymkhana, released in April 2025, and will next be seen in Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra. Mamitha Baiju, meanwhile, is working on several exciting films like Dude, Jana Nayagan with Thalapathy Vijay, and Suriya 46 with Suriya.

State govt announces best ganesh pandal contest 2025
Surat: Ahead of Ganesh Mahotsav, the state govt has announced the Best Ganesh Pandal Competition 2025, to be held in Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and 29 districts across Gujarat. The event is being organized by the commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural Activities, Gandhinagar. In each city and district, local committees will select the winners. The top three pandals will receive cash prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, and Rs 1.5 lakh, respectively. Five additional pandals will get consolation prizes of Rs 1 lakh each. The contest will be theme-based, with evaluation criteria including decoration, creativity, eco-friendly Ganesh idols, use of indigenous materials in line with the PM's "Vocal for Local" call, social messaging, and appropriate venue selection.
