Broncos showing interest in another quarterback prospect
The Denver Broncos continue to scout third-string quarterback candidates leading up to the 2025 NFL draft.
After previously meeting with Canadian quarterback Taylor Elgersma at Buffalo's pro day and hosting NDSU's Cam Miller on a pre-draft visit, the Broncos have had multiple virtual pre-draft Zoom calls with Minnesota's Max Brosmer, according to the Denver Post's Luca Evans.
Brosmer (6-2, 217 pounds) spent the first five years of his college career at the FCS level, playing 36 games at New Hampshire. He transferred to Minnesota ahead of his final year of eligibility in 2024.
The 24-year-old prospect completed 66.5% of his passes for 2,828 yards and 18 touchdowns against six interceptions in 13 games with the Golden Gophers. He also rushed for five touchdowns last fall, but Brosmer is not a particularly mobile prospect.
Brosmer is projected as a late-round or undrafted free agent prospect. If he lands with the Broncos, Brosmer could get an opportunity to compete for the QB3 job behind starter Bo Nix and primary backup Jarrett Stidham in 2025. The NFL draft will be held in Wisconsin from April 24-26. Denver holds seven picks this year.

Still, he brought it up in response to a question about Jets running back Braelon Allen, who is expected to take on a bigger role in the offense this season as the Jets place a bigger emphasis on the ground game. So the notion of trading Hall is out there. Hall flashed his rookie season in 2022 before tearing his ACL, then returned in 2023 to rush for 994 yards at a 4.5 yard-per-carry clip with five touchdowns, as well as 76 catches for 591 yards and four more scores. His numbers dipped a bit last season, and now as he approaches his second contract he looks set to share backfield touches with not only Allen but also second-year back Isaiah Davis. Washington has Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols ready to assume a starter's share of touches, and the team is high on rookie Jacory "Bill" Croskey-Merritt. Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders — Unlikely Reports indicate teams aren't exactly burning up the phone lines trying to trade for McLaurin and sign him to the big extension he wants. Yahoo Sports Senior NFL Reporter Charles Robinson believes a deal in the $27-$28 million range of average annual value as well as $50-$60 million in guarantees gets it done, and that still feels like the most probable outcome here. Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals — Maybe Well, the Bengals are at least listening to offers, per reports over the weekend. Given how porous their starting defense has been through two preseason games, it sure seems like they could use the NFL's reigning sack king, who's seeking a contract extension and wants a different guarantee structure than the Cincinnati is offering. That said, there is logic to seeing what premium capital the Bengals could recoup in a trade, since the defense is further from competency than just one admittedly great player, and the Bengals' game scripts seem destined for volatility instead of the consistent fourth-quarter leads to play to Hendrickson's pass rush strengths. It still feels like a long-term deal gets done, but a trade isn't out of the question. Kyle Dugger, New England Patriots — Likely Dugger is reportedly available for a trade, per the Boston Herald, which makes sense considering it was the previous regime under Jerod Mayo that gave him a four-year, $58 million extension, not the current one under Mike Vrabel. The cap hit, plus questions over scheme fit under new coordinator Terrell Williams, push this into the likely territory. Kenny Pickett/Shedeur Sanders/Dillon Gabriel — Maybe Are the Browns really about to carry Kenny Pickett onto the regular season roster despite not taking a preseason snap? It's a fair question. Sanders and Gabriel, meanwhile, both appear headed for one final audition in Saturday's preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams. While the Browns have reiterated they're OK rostering four quarterbacks during the regular season, it's been decades since any team did that. Which makes at least one of them a very obvious trade candidate, depending on how the depth chart shakes out and how the Browns want to play it. Raiders TE Brock Bowers cracks top 25 in first appearance on NFL Top 100
The NFL Top 100 has reached the final quarter pole. And making his debut on the list is Raiders All Pro tight end Brock Bowers who came in at number 24. It was a[n] historic rookie season for Bowers in Las Vegas. Whoever was under center for the Raiders, Bowers was the consistent threat in Vegas' offense. Bowers set a new rookie record for receptions and broke Hall of Famer Mike Ditka's 63-year-old TE record for receiving yards set in 1963. Despite not winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, Bowers made the Pro Bowl, earned first-team All-Pro honors and now makes an appearance on the Top 100. After just one season, Bowers is the best tight end in football. Just as he was from the moment he took the field at Georgia and throughout his three years there; where he became the only ever two-time Mackey Award winner. Bowers leapfrogged the former top dogs at the tight end position in the Top 100. George Kittle landed at 31 and Travis Kelce at 37. With the countdown reaching number 23 on Thursday, Bowers is the first current Raiders player to make an appearance on this year's list. So, now we wait to see where Maxx Crosby lands as they are the only two Raiders players deemed worthy of this year's list.
