Sarah Michelle Gellar calls Alyson Hannigan at 'crisis times'

Perth Now20-05-2025

Sarah Michelle Gellar is always "there emotionally" for Alyson Hannigan.
The 48-year-old actress starred alongside Alyson, 51, on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', the supernatural drama series, between 1997 and 2003, and Sarah has explained how their friendship has survived more than 30 years.
The actress - who has Charlotte, 15, and Rocky, 12, with husband Freddie Prinze Jr - told Us Weekly: "Moms understand that friendship doesn't mean I have to call you every single day.
"There's never a crisis time in my life that there isn't a text from Alyson. I don't mean that in a bad way. That's how you maintain a friendship: by knowing the things that [matter].
"We don't miss birthdays. We don't miss the big ones. Those moments, that's why a friendship lasts a long period of time. It's not about being able to make the time every day or once a week to do an exercise class. It's about when you're on 'Dancing with the Stars', I couldn't be there in person. I want to be there emotionally, texting you after every episode, making sure people vote."
Alyson actually married Alexis Denisof, her 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' co-star, in 2003. But the actress sought advice from Anthony Head, another former co-star, before she decided to pursue the romance.
She shared: "I remember Anthony Head saying - because at this point Alexis was on [the spin-off] 'Angel' - and so it was so obvious that we needed to decide whether or not this was going to be something.
"So I went to Tony and I was like, 'Should we go on a date?' He's like, 'Absolutely not. It will ruin your friendship. You guys are too good. Do not date him.' So on the big anniversaries, I'm like, 'Hey Tony, thanks for the advice.'"
Sarah, for her part, wasn't too surprised that Alyson married their 'Buffy' co-star.
The actress said: "Do you know this has happened to me numerous times? Because there was also another girl that had a similar, very hard crush on someone that I watched. It was Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
"And I watched Kelly the day that she met Mark, and she came running and she's like, 'there is the hottest guy.' And he was like, 'No, not where I work.' So, usually, I know how that ends."

Blake Lively's sister Robyn is 'proud' of her

Blake Lively's sibling Robyn will always be "proud" of her. The 37-year-old actress has shared a series of supportive messages from Twin Peaks star Robyn, 53, after a judge dismissed It Ends With Us actor Justin Baldoni's countersuit against her, after Blake had accused him of causing her "severe emotional distress". In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, Robyn - who did not mention the lawsuits - shared family photos of them over the years. She wrote: "I held you then... now... and always. "No one knows you quite like I do, and man am I ever proud of you ... I love you sister." Blake shared the posts with her own Instagram followers with Donna Lewis' song I Love You Always Forever playing in the background. Referencing the track, she wrote: "I love you more. Always. Forever. Near or far. Closer together." This week, Judge Lewis J. Liman granted a motion to dismiss Justin's $400 million lawsuit against Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds, as he accused them of extortion and defamation. While the lawsuit was dismissed, it was noted that his legal team have until June 23 to amend claims of breach of implied contract and tortious interference with contract, if they want to. Justin's attorney Bryan Freedman has stressed they still have things to fight for and will be amending their complaint. He told Us Weekly in a statement: 'Ms. Lively and her team's predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. 'While the Court dismissed the defamation-related claims, the Court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations. "This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively's own team conveniently describes as 'untraceable' because they cannot prove what never happened.' Following the judge's ruling, Blake vowed to keep fighting for other women. She wrote on Instagram: "Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women's rights to speak up for their safety. Like so many others, I've felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us. "While the suit against me was defeated, so many don't have the resources to fight back. "I'm more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story. "There are protections out there. Check out some of the incredible organizations below for resources and information. "With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me, many of you I know. Many of you I don't. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you. "- B (sic)"

Sarah Jessica Parker refuses to take selfies with fans for surprisingly heartwarming reason

Sarah Jessica Parker has started refusing to take selfies with fans when she's out in public. The Sex and the City star was recently asked for a photo at an airport, and she has explained she turned down the request for a very simple reason. Appearing on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show this week, she said: "So here's what I've been trying to do, because I was just at the airport on Friday. "A woman came up to me and she didn't say hello, she just said, 'Can I take your picture?' "And I said, 'We didn't even meet. You didn't even introduce yourself. What's your name?' " After the stranger said her name was Julie, the 60-year-old actress suggested a conversation might be better than a quick selfie. She added: "I guarantee you it's gonna be so much more meaningful." And she even had another chat with Julie once her family was settled with food. Radio host Howard compared the situation to "a schoolteacher teaching everyone how to behave" and said it must be "annoying", but Sarah disagreed. She explained: "Here's the thing: I kind of prefer it to somebody walking up to me with a camera already ready asking as they're clicking. "I always am, like, startled by it. I much prefer to have a conversation — for someone to come up to me and say, 'Maybe this isn't your best time, my name is Veronica and I'm just here and I'm excited to see you.' " Meanwhile, Sarah recently opened up about being regarded as a style icon, although she insisted other people's perceptions have never had much influence on her choices. She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: 'It's flattering, but it's something I don't really think about. 'I do love clothes and fashion, but I don't go out to be anything other than myself. 'There's a time when you're young when you think a lot about people's opinions of you, but I'd be at a disadvantage to spend a lot of time thinking about what other people think of me now, good or bad. 'It doesn't allow you to be who you are authentically, for better or sores.'

‘She's a kid': Alix Earle slammed for video with 12yo sister

Alix Earle has faced a wave of criticism after she helped dress her 12-year-old sister for a concert, with many viewers describing the influencer's choice of outfit for the pre-teen as too 'grown-up'. The star, 24, who boasts over 7.5 million followers, shared a 'Get Ready With Me' video on TikTok where she filmed herself helping her little sister Izabel get ready for The Weeknd's concert. The New Jersey native explained to the camera that she would assist Izabel in getting ready, before presenting a range of options for the tween to wear – including tiny crop tops and mini skirts. At one point, the upcoming Dancing With The Stars cast member selected a red latex crop top and cut a black skirt with scissors so it was ultra-short. A mini grey tank top was also an option she chose, as was a strapless maroon corset that the tween declared 'ugly'. A see-through leopard singlet was also included in the mix. The video abruptly ended before a decision was made, but Earle updated her followers in the comments, saying that her sister ended up going in her 'own direction' with her outfit. When someone else inquired what she ended up wearing, Earle said she didn't want to share as she was afraid of the 'haters'. Thousands of viewers raced to the comment section to condemn Earle's fashion direction. 'She's 12, she needs to stay a kid,' said one. 'Alix, I love you but we gotta protect our little siblings and let them be kids. C'mon girlfriend,' said another. Someone else pointed out that 'all those options a 25-year-old could wear', while another added: 'None of these are good for a 12-year-old'. Meanwhile, one follower called the video a 'hard watch,' especially the part where she cut the skirt even shorter. 'My daughter just turned 11, I couldn't imagine. They are kids, let them be kids,' said someone else. 'All these outfits are WAY too inappropriate for a child. I would never ever let my little 13-year-old sister walk out of the house dressed in any of those,' declared someone else. However, not everyone was so critical. 'When I was her age, literally all I wanted was this stuff. She's probably having so much fun, as she should,' one defended. 'Y'all didn't have an older sister when you were 12 and it shows,' said someone else. 'Guys, she's in high school, why are you acting like she's six?' said another. 'Also, Alix is her cool older sister – not her mum,' pointed out someone else. In June 2024, Earle shared a catwalk with her siblings at the Miami Swim Week. She walked alongside her sister Ashtin, 22, and half-sisters Izabel and Penelope, eight, during the show. Earle and Ashtin sported black and white bikinis, while the younger sisters matched in pink and white one-pieces.
