Director Reveals If Keanu Reeves Will Be In ‘John Wick' Spinoff ‘Caine'

With Keanu Reeves appearance in the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, what are the chances of him turning up in the franchise spinoff Caine? The director of the franchise has an answer.
Reeves, of course, seemingly perished at the end of 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4, creating a creative dilemma for Stahelski when it came to the announcement at CinemaCon in April that the star would be reprising his role in John Wick 5.
In the interim, Reeves was brought back in a supporting capacity in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, starring Ana Armas as ballerina-turned-assassin Eve Maccaro, which opened in theaters over the weekend. Since the film is set during the events of 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum, it allowed Wick to return in a way that made sense to the narrative.
Produced by Stahelski and directed by Len Wiseman, Ballerina is the first of at least two more From the World of John Wick features in the works.
John Wick franchise studio Lionsgate announced at CinemaCon that in addition to John Wick 5, it is producing an animated John Wick prequel and the unofficially titled Caine, named after Donnie Yen's blind assassin character in John Wick: Chapter 4.
Unlike Ballerina, however, the upcoming Caine movie won't feature Reeves, Stahelski recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
'The [Donnie] Yen spinoff doesn't have the John Wick character,' Stahelski said. 'It's got [Donnie] Yen and it's an ode to kung fu movies. If John Wick 1 was about Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin, this is about Chow Yun-fat, John Woo and Wong Kar-wai. So, I think that one is a little easier to get it across to audiences because it's in a sub-genre of what we love.'

Now that Chad Stahelski is telling spinoff tales from the world of John Wick, The Hollywood Reporter asked the director-producer if he ever worried about John Wick movies working without the Wick character.
'Keanu and I actually just talked about this,' Stahelski told THR. 'Look, it's always tricky. I think the world can be supported as long as you don't go crazy and carpet bomb. What we're doing now are stories we really want to tell that feel organic. You've seen Alice in Wonderland. Now what about the Rabbit? What about the Cheshire Cat?
'Also, sometimes in your own franchise, you get so far up your own a-- with the mythology that by the 10th movie you don't know what's going on,' the filmmaker added. 'I don't ever want to get that way with Wick. I want each one to be able to stand alone.'
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina earned a projected $25 million from 3,409 North American theaters, finishing at No. 2 at the domestic box office behind Disney's live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, which made an estimated $32.5 million from 4,185 venues.
Release dates are yet to be announced for Caine, the John Wick animated prequel and John Wick 5.

100 Chicago men treated to Father's Day makeover, including haircuts, photoshoots, and more

A hundred men in Chicago were treated to a special Father's Day makeover experience on Monday. The Daisie Foundation partnered with two other nonprofits to provide the men with barber treatments, mini photoshoots, personal styling, and special gifts. The men also received lunch and a panel highlighting successful men from diverse backgrounds. The event served as a way to recognize the impact, sacrifice, and contributions of the fathers. One of the participating dads said he felt the love. "It's really rewarding to get pampered," Darry Smith said. "Normally, you hear it happening to the women and not the men, but for them to offer the fathers a chance to be pampered is a rewarding experience." In case you forgot, Father's Day is this Sunday, June 15.

Where Has the Original Cast of ‘Hamilton' Been? We've Got Answers.

It has been nearly 10 years since the original cast of 'Hamilton' hit Broadway, igniting an international frenzy and becoming the biggest phenomenon the Great White Way had seen in years. On Sunday, 28 members from that cast reunited on the Tonys stage to perform a whirlwind medley of the show's biggest numbers. They performed portions of 'Non-Stop,' 'My Shot,' 'The Schuyler Sisters,' 'Guns and Ships,' 'You'll Be Back,' 'Yorktown,' 'The Room Where It Happens' and 'History Has Its Eyes on You.' At the 2016 Tonys, 'Hamilton' earned 16 nominations and won 11 prizes. Soon after, many of its cast members left the show to take time off or to pursue other projects. Here is a rundown of where everyone has been since that momentous opening run. Lin-Manuel Miranda Miranda transformed Broadway with 'Hamilton,' which he wrote and starred in, playing the founding father Alexander Hamilton. Miranda's rise to the top of Hollywood began after he left the show in 2016. That year he contributed to the score of 'Moana,' the animated feature, earning an Academy Award nomination for the original song 'How Far I'll Go.' Years later he earned another Oscar nomination for the original song 'Dos Oruguitas' from the animated film 'Encanto.' He also wrote for other musical films including, 'Mufasa: The Lion King' and 'The Little Mermaid,' the live-action remake starring Halle Bailey. He played Jack in 'Mary Poppins Returns' opposite Emily Blunt in 2018 and starred as the piragüero in the 2021 film adaptation of 'In the Heights,' the Broadway show he and Quiara Alegría Hudes created. Justin Baldoni's $400M lawsuit against Blake Lively dismissed

A judge dismissed Justin Baldoni's $400 million complaint against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds on Monday. Baldoni had sued Lively and claimed the actress "falsely" accused him of sexual harassment in an attempt to repair her reputation following the fallout around the "It Ends With Us" press tour after she allegedly took control of the film. "The Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her CRD complaint, which are privileged," Judge Lewis Liman wrote in an opinion and order obtained by Fox News Digital. "The Wayfarer Parties have alleged that Reynolds and [publicist Leslie] Sloane made additional statements accusing Baldoni of sexual misconduct and that the Times made additional statements accusing the Wayfarer Parties of engaging in a smear campaign. But the Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Reynolds, Sloane or the Times would have seriously doubted these statements were true based on the information available to them, as is required for them to be liable for defamation under applicable law." "The Wayfarer Parties' additional claims also fail," the judge added. "Accordingly, the Amended Complaint must be dismissed in its entirety."
