Vicky Pattison has revealed her ideal dance partner as she expressed concerns about the infamous Strictly 'curse.' During a recent conversation with Angela Scanlon on the Get a Grip podcast, the Geordie Shore star confessed to feeling 'scared' as she prepares for her forthcoming stint on the massively popular BBC dance show.
Vicky, who previously won I'm A Celeb, is one of 15 celebrities announced for the 2025 series. Other notable participants include Love Island's Dani Dyer and football icon Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
As she discussed her preparations, Vicky was questioned about any potential dance partners she might have her 'eyes' on, and it appears she's eager to sidestep the show's notorious "curse".
This refers to a peculiar trend where contestants join the show in solid relationships off the dance floor, only for those relationships to dissolve—seemingly because of their involvement in the show.

Vicky stated: 'No, so obviously I'm newly married, and the press are just, like, wild, aren't they? I feel like the whole, like, chemistry between couples can easily be, like, misrepresented.'

She continued: 'For that side of things, I would absolutely love a gay partner, just because I don't want any of the rumours. But, like, you can't go around requesting things like that.'
Vicky expressed her admiration for Johannes Radebe, a sentiment Angela enthusiastically shared. However, her co-host dismissed any chance of them being paired together, arguing he was 'too tall' for Vicky.
She responded that she'd heard this before, whilst Angela, who partnered with Strictly professional Carlos Gu during the 2023 series, confessed she'd "kinda" set her sights on him as a dance partner.
A chuckling Vicky then described Johannes as a 'popular fella' and suggested she might not possess the 'waif-like' qualities suited to Carlos.

The notorious 'curse' has allegedly caused disruption in the personal lives of both contestants and professional dancers alike, sometimes sparking fresh romances—including Dianne Buswell with Joe Sugg and Stacey Dooley with Kevin Clifton.
Meanwhile, Vicky wed The Only Way Is Essex star Ercan Ramadan last year, following a romance that began in 2019. Ercan popped the question to the reality personality in 2022 during a trip to Dubai.
On 24th August last year, the pair exchanged vows at Marylebone Town Hall in London, before jetting off to Puglia, Italy, for a second ceremony at Castle Elvira.
At the time, Vicky shared on Instagram: 'I have honestly never felt happiness like it—the most special day of our lives.'

Discussing the couple's future family plans with OK!, she disclosed their intention to 'enjoy being married' for 'at least a year' before revealing details about their sleeping arrangements.
She explained: 'I'd love a honeymoon first! A little week in the Caribbean would be lovely. We're just desperate to sleep in the same bed together. I sleep with the dogs [they have two] and he sleeps in the spare room!'

Gladiators thrown into chaos as four stars injured while filming new series
Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a number of its stars got injured during filming for the new series, as the programme prepares to return to our screens Filming for the new series of Gladiators has been thrown into chaos after a handful of stars were injured on the set. The latest batch of episodes for the BBC programme, which was revived in 2024 with father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh at the helm, is currently in production but things have not gone entirely to plan. Legend, Bionic, Diamond and Athena are the four stars of the series that have been landed with injuries. Legend, whose real name is Matt Morsia, tore a bicep, whilst Matty Campbell, who is better known to fans as Bionic, has dislocated his shoulder. Livi Sheldon, whose Gladiators alter-ego is Diamond, ruptured the ACL and MCL in her knee. As well as all that, Athena, whose real name is Karenjeet Kaur Bains, smashed her knee. Speaking about the incidents, a source told The Sun: "Gladiators is the ultimate test of speed, strength and endurance - and four of its champions have paid the price. It just goes to show that these games are tough and even our professionals can suffer injuries!" It comes as ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series. READ MORE: Final Strictly Come Dancing star announced as fans fume over 'underwhelming' line-up According to the outlet, all of the injuries were sustained at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield whilst cameras were rolling for the next series of the programme. But despite the individual ordeals, it has been claimed that all the stars will feature when the show goes to air later this year, and they will also all be taking part in the live tour when that hits the road this autumn. But this is not the first time that the stars have suffered such injuries, as fans will remember that Comet, real name Ella-Mae Rayner, broke her ankle and had to undergo an operation to rebuild her foot. What's more, Sheli McCoy, better known as Sabre, tore her hamstring during production, and at the time noted to Metro that the 'competitive' nature of her job meant that nothing on set 'came without risk.' However, a spokesperson for the BBC previously insised that health and safety is taken seriously on the set as they said: "The health and well-being of all Gladiators, contenders and crew is of paramount importance. Gladiators is one of the toughest and most physically demanding programmes on TV and due to the high-impact nature of the show it is not unusual for those competing to suffer injuries. "In each instance, as soon as it became apparent that a potential injury had occurred, the correct protocol was immediately followed. "The injured Gladiators are currently following medical advice and working on their recoveries.' This is the second time Gladiators has been revived on television since starting life in the 1990s, and, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper will be back on screen in 2026. The BBC's version of the hit became the most watched Saturday night series on BBC iPlayer and the third most watched Entertainment series overall. The show averaged 5.3m viewers, with nearly two fifths streaming on demand. The revival of the show has also capture younger viewers with 1.3 million tuning in for each episode, accounting for nearly a quarter of the show's overall audience. Speaking on the news, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: 'Audiences have loved getting together to watch our mighty Gladiators take on contenders from all across the UK with younger fans especially excited to cheer on their Saturday night superheroes. "With this brand-new series and another Celebrity Special confirmed there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to!" Before the next series hits screens, fans will be able to catch Nitro competing in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, and he will be putting his footwork to the test for judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. Also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, he appeared in last year's Christmas edition of the programme. Upon his casting for the main competition, he said: "After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track!"

Molly Rainford And Tyler West: A Complete Relationship Timeline
The Strictly curse has been broken! That's thanks to the news that Strictly stars Molly Rainford and Tyler West are engaged, three years after meeting on the show. West popped the question on a romantic trip to Mykonos, and shared an emotional video of the moment online. In the video, he says 'I don't know where to start – so I'm hoping you can continue making me the luckiest man on this Earth, like you do every single day,' before asking Molly to marry him - to which she says yes. In the caption on the video, he wrote 'Found our forever.' Here's everything you need to know about this Strictly romance success story.... Eastenders star Molly and Radio DJ Nick were both contestants on the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing. Molly succeeded on the show, making it to the final with professional dancer Carlos Gu, before the trophy went to Hamza Yassin and his partner Jowita Przystal. Tyler was partnered with pro Dianne Buswell, and the pair were booted out halfway through the contest. The pair actually started out as friends. Rainford told OK: 'Everyone thinks that we got together on the show, but we didn't. It kind of happened after but what's so lovely is that we kind of built a little friendship,' continuing 'I think because it stems from such a cool friendship into something more, that's what makes it so cool. He's a good boy. I'm very lucky.' Molly spoke to Fabulous magazine about her budding romancer with Tyler, revealing they grew close near the end of the tour. 'I suppose it developed towards the end of the tour because we'd spent so much time together and we were really good friends,' she told the outlet. 'The tour was so much fun. We were just doing everything together and it just progressed from there really.' She also said it was Tyler who asked her out once the tour had finished. 'He was like, 'Do you think when we get back, we could go on a date?' and I was like, 'Yeah, alright!' I was totally up for it,' she said. 'Everyone on Strictly was so excited for us. They kind of wanted it to happen [all the way through the show] and we were like, "No, we are trying to be professional."' In fact, Tyler even pinpointed the moment he knew it was love with Molly, which was on the Newcastle tour. 'The minute I'd leave Molly, I'd miss her,' he said. 'When you both feel it, you just know,' said Molly. In January 2024, Molly and Nic took the step of moving in together. 'We are good and going strong and are actually moving in together - we're just going through, you know dining tables and sofas and all that kind of stuff, it's exciting,' she told Mail Online at the time. Tyler also said: 'Molly's turned into a whole interior designer so I'm just taking a complete back seat!' Wedding bells are on the cards after Tyler popped the question on a trip to Mykonos at sunset, with the couple sharing the adorable moment in a video on Instagram. Naturally, friends were quick to offer their congratulations to the couple. Strictly: It Takes Two host Fleur East called it 'the most beautiful proposal' while JLS star Marvin Humes penned 'Wow... this is a lot. Couldn't be happier for two incredible people who are just perfect for eachother... I'm SO happy!!! Ah man this has made my night... congrats family...'

Strictly Come Dancing unable to attend the National Television Awards
Collecting a gong at the prestigious National Television Awards could be the most positive moment for Strictly Come Dancing this year after a string of scandals. But the cast and crew are unable to attend the ceremony held at the O2 next month because they will be busy filming their pre-recorded launch show on September 10. Instead, the Daily Mail can reveal the Beeb are planning on sending this year's winner and first ever blind contestant, Chris McCausland, to accept an award if its flagship Saturday night show wins. It will come as a blow for the 20 professional dancers who relish the moment they can receive an award for their hard work - Strictly has won Best Talent Show at the NTAs a record breaking 10 times. Despite battling a string of controversies this year, including Wynne Evan's controversial departure and claims two of its stars had used cocaine while on the show, Strictly received three gongs. The first being for Talent Show while host Claudia Winkleman is also recognised for her work on The Traitors, landed a nod in the Presenter category, while professional dancer Amy Dowden is up for Authored Documentary for her moving film depicting her battle with breast cancer. Strictly host Claudia Winkleman landed a nod in the Presenter category, while pro dancer Amy Dowden is up for Authored Documentary for her film depicting her battle with breast cancer Last year the flagship show won the prize for Talent Show and hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were joined on stage by the professionals in celebration to collect the gong. It came after a year accusations of abuse aimed at professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima but the BBC show beat out Britain's Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off, MasterChef and The Voice to take one of the night's big prizes. The nominations no doubt mean more to BBC bosses, given the NTAs winners are solely chosen by public vote. Amy is up against a string of big names in the Authored Documentary category, including Freddie Flintoff, Molly-Mae Hague, Rob Burrow and Boyzone. Elsewhere in the shortlist, former Match Of The Day star Gary Lineker received a surprise nod in the Presenter category, against Claudia, Alison Hammond, Stacey Solomon, and veteran winners Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. Gary departed the iconic show at the end of last season after 26 years at its helm, after sharing a post about Zionism featuring a depiction of a rat on social media, which has anti-Semitic connotations. He apologised but said it was 'best for all concerned' if he left completely. Ant and Dec are once again favourites to scoop the prize, although their beloved series I'm A Celebrity will face stiff competition for the Reality Award, going head-to-head with BBC's The Traitors. One noticeable snub comes in the form of BBC Breakfast, who has been left out of the Daytime category following a string of claims of bullying on the show This year has seen the Reality Competition category introduced for the first time, with Love Island and Race Across The World also nominated. One noticeable snub comes in the form of BBC Breakfast, who has been left out of the Daytime category following a string of claims of bullying on the show. Back in June it was revealed that star Naga Munchetty, who joined the morning programme in 2014, was facing 'bullying claims'. Sources revealed Naga could face a probe from BBC bosses, and has been placed 'under review' amid claims she bullied a junior colleague on the flagship morning show, just weeks after it was reported that its editor Richard Frediani, was at the centre of a misconduct row.
