Camp Rock 3 reportedly confirmed for Disney+ with original writer attached

Express Tribune11-04-2025

After more than a decade, Disney is reportedly reviving its beloved Camp Rock franchise with a third installment, according to Boardwalk Times. The new film, titled Camp Rock 3, is said to be in development for a Disney+ release—marking the first entry in the musical series since 2010's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
While plot details remain under wraps, Eydie Faye—known for her work on Fuller House and The Slumber Party—has been tapped to write the script. Her involvement suggests the studio may blend nostalgic elements with updated themes to appeal to both longtime fans and a new audience.
The original Camp Rock films, which aired on Disney Channel in 2008 and 2010, starred Demi Lovato as Mitchie Torres and the Jonas Brothers as the fictional band Connect Three. The series followed Mitchie's journey to a prestigious music camp and her connection with teen pop star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas). The sequel introduced a rival camp and a competitive showdown that tested loyalties and friendships.
Given the likely 15-year time jump since the last film, Camp Rock 3 could explore storylines involving the original cast saving the camp, adapting to the digital music age, or mentoring a new generation. Casting details have not been confirmed, and it's unclear how many of the original stars will return.
Lovato, now active as a director and performer, previously joked in a 2023 Harper's Bazaar interview about wanting an R-rated version of the film. Nick Jonas also expressed openness to a third movie in a 2017 People interview—provided the 'right' opportunity came together.
With development underway, fans will be eager to learn more as Disney shapes the next chapter of Camp Rock.

Miley Cyrus reveals why she took relaxed approach to promoting ‘Endless Summer Vacation'

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Miley Cyrus explained her unconventional strategy for promoting her 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation. Rather than following traditional marketing methods, she opted for a relaxed approach that aligned with the album's laid-back theme. 'I cleverly titled my last album Endless Summer Vacation so then I could be on vacation and that could be part of my aesthetic,' Cyrus told host Jimmy Fallon. 'So all I had to do was take pictures of me in a bathing suit and be like, 'ESV!' and that was the promo.' Miley Cyrus talking about her fans commenting that she wasn't promoting her last album 😭 'I just cleverly titled my last album Endless Summer Vacation so then I could be on vacation and it would look like that was a part of my aesthetic.' — Miley Edition (@MileyEdition) June 5, 2025 She added that some fans were confused by the lack of traditional marketing efforts. 'All my fans were like, 'You're not promoting this album!' I was like, 'I'm making the next one, people!'' Despite the low-key rollout, Endless Summer Vacation became one of Cyrus's most well-received projects. The album featured the Grammy-winning hit 'Flowers' and was accompanied by a Disney+ special, Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions), showcasing her performances in an intimate setting. Now moving on from the ESV era, Cyrus has launched her latest project, Something Beautiful, released on May 30. The album marks her first visual LP and has already earned critical acclaim. Industry forecasts predict a strong debut on the charts, with Something Beautiful expected to land at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. If it does, it will become her highest-charting album since 2020's Plastic Hearts.

Ryan Coogler addresses future of Sinners after massive box office success

Director Ryan Coogler has confirmed that he will not create a sequel to Sinners, his critically acclaimed vampire thriller that has been a box office success in 2025. Despite its popularity and financial performance, Coogler emphasized that he always intended Sinners to be a standalone film. The supernatural drama starred Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as vampire twins and was praised for its original storytelling and genre-bending direction. It became the only original title to break into the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year, solidifying its impact without needing franchise backing. In a recent interview with Ebony, Coogler explained his decision: 'I've been in a space of making franchise films for a bit, so I wanted to get away from that… I was looking forward to delivering something original and personal.' He added that he wanted Sinners to feel like 'a full meal'—complete and self-contained, with no cliffhangers or need for continuation. Coogler's directorial journey began with Fruitvale Station in 2013, followed by major successes like Creed, Black Panther, and Wakanda Forever. While those films expanded into franchises, Sinners represents a return to his indie roots and creative freedom. Looking ahead, Coogler is working on Wrong Answer, another collaboration with Jordan, and the Disney+ spinoff series Eyes of Wakanda. He's also expected to return for Black Panther 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. For now, Sinners continues to draw audiences in theaters—with no sequel planned, just as Coogler envisioned.
