Appointment letters handed over to 93 candidates at Rozgar Mela in Thiruvananthapuram

As many as 93 candidates received appointment letters at the Rozgar Mela held here on Saturday.
Manish Thaplyal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), handed over the appointment letters to selected candidates at the mela organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Division of the Southern Railway in Thiruvananthapuram. The candidates who received their appointment letters at the function were posted in institutions including the Indian Railways, Indian Space Research Organisation, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Central Reserve Police Force, Union Bank of India, Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, Central Water Commission, and IIM Kozhikode. Among them, 54 candidates have been appointed in the Indian Railways.
The event was part of a nationwide initiative in which over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed through Rozgar Melas organised by the Indian Railways at 47 locations across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the newly appointed candidates via video conferencing during the programme.
'It is a moment of pride to witness young individuals stepping into public service, especially in departments like the Railways, which touch millions of lives daily,' said Mr. Thaplyal in his welcome speech.
'The Indian Railways is undergoing rapid transformation and modernisation, and the youth who joined the service on Saturday are becoming part of this historic evolution. Your dedication, efficiency, and integrity will shape not only your future, but also the nation's progress,' he said.
The Southern Railway, besides Thiruvananthapuram, had simultaneously organised Rozgar Melas at Palakkad and Madurai Divisions on Saturday.

For the first time, a 'Grassland Bird Census' has been conducted here, identifying over 40 species of birds, including many rare ones. Technology did wonders in this. Sound recording devices were used, and with the help of AI, birds were identified without disturbing them. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to open the discussion in the Rajya Sabha, presenting the government's position, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the Lok Sabha at around 12 noon. The stage is set for a high-voltage political showdown in Parliament today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Gandhi siblings are expected to lock horns over the controversial Operation Sindoor and the India-Pakistan skirmish that unfolded in May. PM Modi is slated to address either House around 7 pm, in what will be his first direct intervention in the ongoing debate that has sharply divided the treasury and opposition benches. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are expected to lead the Opposition's charge in Lok Sabha, sharpening their attack on the Modi government's handling of both military engagement and post-conflict communication.
