She's more than just cool for the summer — Demi Lovato is officially married.
The musician-actor, 32, tied the knot with Canadian singer-songwriter Jordan "Jutes" Lutes, 34, on Sunday in California, as first exclusively reported by Vogue.
The couple met while working on Lovato's last album, 2022's "Holy Fvck," and dated for nearly two years before Lutes proposed in December 2023. Lutes co-wrote a few of the songs that made "Holy Fvck," including "Happy Ending," "City of Angels," and the pop-punk single, "Substance."
Lovato wore a white Vivienne Westwood dress and Lutes wore a Saint Laurent suit.
Messages seeking comment were sent to Lovato's representatives.
Lovato, a former child star, began her entertainment career on "Barney & Friends" before becoming a staple of the Disney Channel in the 2000s for her role in the "Camp Rock" films and as the star of "Sonny with a Chance." Beyond her acting, Lovato has long been celebrated for her gifted soprano and has released eight albums.
Lutes, an independent artist whose hybridist music marries elements of emo, pop-punk and trap, was previously signed to Capitol Records.
Prior to her relationship with Lutes, Lovato was engaged to the actor Max Ehrich in 2020. They called off their engagement after two months.

Maria Grazia Chiuri exits Dior, capping transformative era for Paris fashion behemoth

by Naharnet Newsdesk 29 May 2025, 15:56 Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first woman ever to lead Dior's women's collections, announced Thursday she is stepping down as creative director after nine years at the storied French fashion house. The Italian designer confirmed her departure in an Instagram post, capping a transformative era defined by bold feminist messaging, record sales and industry-defining collections. Chiuri, 60, leaves behind a legacy that reshaped Dior's creative direction and broadened its global appeal. Since her arrival in 2016, she steered Dior through a golden era of commercial and cultural success. Revenues reportedly rose by nearly $8 billion from 2017 to 2023 as Chiuri's vision of empowered femininity resonated with a new generation of clients. "I am particularly grateful for the work accomplished by my teams and the ateliers. Their talent and expertise allowed me to realize my vision of committed women's fashion, in close dialogue with several generations of female artists," she said in the post. "Together, we have written a remarkable and impactful chapter, of which I am immensely proud." The fashion house said Chiuri "redefined the identity and femininity of the Dior woman, celebrated and reimagined the iconic heritage and savoir-faire." LVMH executive Delphine Arnault thanked Chiuri for her "tremendous work," saying she had "an inspiring feminist perspective and exceptional creativity, all imbued with the spirit of Monsieur Dior." Chiuri designed "highly desirable collections (and) has written a key chapter in the history of Christian Dior," Arnault added, noting she was the first woman to design the women's collections. Chiuri's debut for Spring 2017 made headlines with "We Should All Be Feminists" T-shirts, declaring a new era for Dior. She brought activism to the runway, collaborating with artists like Judy Chicago and Faith Ringgold. She revived icons such as the Saddle Bag and made space for women's voices, drawing on Dior's past while rewriting its aesthetic. Her shows spanned continents, from Mumbai to Kyoto, each celebrating craft and community. Chiuri's last collection, Resort 2026, was staged in her native Rome at Villa Torlonia, evoking the spirit of Italian cinema, and accompanied by a film from director Matteo Garrone. Dior has not yet named a successor, but speculation centers on Jonathan Anderson, who recently took over Dior's men's collections. Chiuri departs as the first woman to helm Dior since its founding in 1947, having rewritten the rules and opened the door for a new chapter at one of fashion's most influential maisons. Her departure is part of a long string of creative shakeups at major fashion houses, that includes Pierpaolo Piccioli's recent appointment as creative director at Balenciaga. Chiuri and Piccioli were for a time co-creative directors at Valentino.

AI to spur more music creativity, not a threat, says Spotify CEO

by Naharnet Newsdesk 28 May 2025, 16:46 Artificial intelligence will encourage more people to create music in the future and is not a threat to the industry, the founder and CEO of streaming giant Spotify said. Artists using machine-learning tools to produce music have given rise to concerns about whether AI-generated music -- even entirely fake artists -- could one day replace human artists. "I'm mostly optimistic and mostly very excited because we're just in the beginning of understanding this future of creativity that we're entering," Daniel Ek told reporters at an Open House at the company's Stockholm headquarters this week. Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter and a recent book, "Mood Machine", have accused Spotify of tasking a handful of producers to make thousands of songs under fake AI profiles, which the company allegedly pushed onto playlists -- saving Spotify money by elbowing out real artists and their higher royalties. Spotify has denied the claims. "We want real humans to make it as artists and creators, but what is creativity in the future with AI? I don't know. What is music?" Ek said. He recalled that electronic dance music and the DJ culture, and before that, hip hop where people sampled music, were initially not considered "real music". Noting that Mozart had to compose entire symphonies in his head, Ek said that "now, any one of us can probably create a beat in five or 10 minutes". "The tools that we now have in our availability are just staggering." "Of course there are very scary potential applications for AI, but the more interesting thing for me is that the amount of creativity that creative people will have available at their fingertips is going to be insane," he said. "The barriers for creation are becoming lower and lower. More and more people will create," he said. Ek said he saw the development of AI in the music industry "much more as an evolution than a revolution". Spotify had 678 million active users at the end of March, including 268 million paying subscribers. Ek said the company, which turned its first annual profit in 2024, now had 100 million paying subscribers in Europe alone, and hoped to one day see a billion paying users worldwide. "I don't think there's any doubt in my mind that the potential for Spotify at some point is to eventually get to over a billion paying subscribers."
