Former Arizona Cardinals receiver Rondale Moore, their second-round pick in 2021, has suffered what appears to be a season-ending knee injury for the second year in a row before getting to the regular season. In the Vikings' 20-10 preseason win over the Houston Texans, he returned a punt and got tackled with what appeared to have elements of the now-banned hip-drop tackle. He had to be carted off the field.
Last year, with the Atlanta Falcons, he tore his ACL in a joint practice.
He has not played a game since he was with the Cardinals.
Per ESPN's Kevin Seifert, Moore suffered a "pretty significant" knee injury.
Rondale Moore injured again
Moore has battled injuries since college. His final year at Purdue and his three seasons with the Cardinals, he dealt with soft-tissue injuries.
He was traded to the Falcons in 2024 for quarterback Desmond Ridder, but neither player ended up playing a game for the teams, as Ridder did not make the team and Moore was out for the season.
Moore signed with the Vikings as a free agent.
In his three seasons with the Cardinals, Moore had 135 receptions for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns in 39 games. He also had 249 rushing yards and a touchdown, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt.

Cardinals' Willson Contreras out of lineup with foot injury after being hit by pitch

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Willson Contreras was not in the lineup against the Colorado Rockies a day after he was hit in the foot by a pitch and broke his bat in frustration. Contreras, listed as day-to-day with a right foot contusion, was hit by Rockies starter Kyle Freeland's 0-2 sweeper in the fourth inning. He then slammed his bat into the dirt and snapped it over his knee. As he walked toward first base, the 33-year-old threw the two pieces of the broken bat toward the Cardinals' dugout. He remained in the game until the sixth inning, when he was replaced by Nolan Gorman. The Cardinals said X-rays did not reveal any structural damage in Contreras' foot. Contreras has been hit by a National League-leading 18 pitches this season, trailing only Randy Arozarena and Ty France. Contreras leads the Cardinals with 16 home runs and 65 RBIs.

James Conner fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions

Rotoworld Staff, James Conner 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Conner appeared in 16 games for the first time in his eight-year career, generating a new personal-best 1,094 yards rushing. He also caught his most passes since 2018 (47), pairing those accomplishments with nine total touchdowns to finish as the RB15 by average PPR points. It wasn't necessarily supposed to be that way, but hyped third-round rookie Trey Benson never got out of neutral. What's changed: Conner was rewarded for his efforts with a mid-season extension. Benson is talking up being 'more explosive' after gaining seven pounds during the offseason, but Conner remains Option A on all the downs that matter most. Outlook: The Cardinals figure to be careful with Conner's workloads, but that means making sure he's in the 16-18 touch range. That is more than enough to support a weekly RB2 role, even if his receptions total regresses back to the 35-40 range. Conner's long injury history does mean fantasy drafters should consider nabbing Benson later on if given the opportunity at or below ADP. Justin Jefferson's hamstring will be re-evaluated next week

Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson remains out of practice due to a hamstring injury, but his status could change next week. Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters at a Wednesday press conference that Jefferson will remain out of action through this week's preseason game against the Patriots before being re-evaluated by medical personnel next week. O'Connell said that Jefferson is progressing, so a clean bill of health would open the door for the wideout to get on the field. Jefferson's injury cropped up in July, so it has been multiple weeks on the sideline for the All-Pro. That would necessitate a slow buildup to a full workload, but Week 1 is the most significant date on the calendar for the Vikings so there's still time for Jefferson to get ramped up. The Vikings would want Jefferson for their game in Chicago under any circumstances, but Jordan Addison's three-game suspension to open the season makes having him is all the more important for first-time starter J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota offense.
