Leighton Meester ready for police series ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop' premiere
(NewsNation) — If you were missing Blair Waldorf in your life, you're not alone. Lucky for us, Leighton Meester is returning to TV once again with The CW. Only this time, she's exchanging her tiara for a pair of handcuffs.
Her new show, 'Good Cop/Bad Cop,' premiering Feb. 19 on The CW, is a light-hearted mystery series that follows Lou Hickman, played by Meester, a detective working in the fictional small town of Eden Vale. When things start to go awry, Lou suggests to the police chief, played by Clancy Brown, that she get a new partner. The chief agrees and wrangles her estranged brother, Henry, played by Luke Cook, for the job.
Although he's good at his job, Henry is considered the black sheep of the family and struggles to get along with others — unlike Lou, who uses her loveable, quirky attitude to her advantage with the town. Of course, this makes for a dysfunctional yet funny family dynamic.
In a recent interview with The CW, when both Meester and Cook were asked about the hardest part of playing siblings, Meester replied, 'Was it hard playing siblings? I don't think so.'
Cook agreed and said that during filming, guest stars in the pilot said, 'It feels like you've been working together forever.'
'We look exactly alike,' Meester added.
The two brought up the theory that people who are dating or married look alike, with Meester admitting she feels that way about her husband, Adam Brody.
'I think that, I see that, I feel that way in my own (relationship),' Meester said.

City of Erie announces Lights Over Lake Erie event details
The City of Erie has announced the date of its annual Fourth of July fireworks show. Lights Over Lake Erie will take place on Thursday, July 3, at 10 p.m. on the bay. NAMI Erie rocks the bayfront at new fundraiser event The city is expecting thousands of people to gather, and with the high volumes, officials recommend making plans ahead of time. Events manager Gabi Watson said there are spots all over Erie to view the show. Annual Equipment Day returns to Erie Zoo this weekend She added that anywhere you can see the Bicentennial Tower is a great spot. 'There's a countdown, and it just kind of brings a sense of community together. It's really nice to see the amounts of people that come to these shows, so I think just seeing everybody so excited to watch the fireworks,' said Watson. 'Be careful, be comfortable, be aware of your surroundings. We want you to enjoy the show and make it home safely as well.' The City of Lynn Haven announces its annual 4th of July Celebration
LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WMBB) – The City of Lynn Haven has announced one of the largest Independence Day events in Bay County, the annual Fourth of July Celebration. According to a news release, the celebration will start with the America: Stars & Stripes Parade Opening Ceremony at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 4, at the junction of 9th Street and Highway 77. 'I'm thrilled about this year's celebration—it will be one to remember. Our Fourth of July Celebration is one of Bay County's largest, and we invite everyone to Lynn Haven to celebrate our nation's Independence Day. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the entire day,' City Manager of Lynn Haven Vickie Gainer said. Those who want a prime viewing spot along 5th Street for the 9 a.m. parade are encouraged to arrive early, as over 60 decorated floats will travel their way down Hwy 77, culminating at 11th Street. Also kicking off at 9 a.m., Sharon Sheffield Park will be transformed into a festive hub. It will include activities for all ages that include carnival rides, axe throwing, a mechanical bull, stilt walkers, balloon artists, face painting, vendor booths, food trucks and a wide variety of games and entertainment. The celebration will continue into the evening with the Let Freedom Ring Finale at A.L. Kinsaul Park. The Gr8ful Dads will perform at 6 p.m., followed by a headline performance by Jamie O'Neal, the award-winning Australian-American country music star, at 7 p.m. The evening celebration will also involve food trucks, vendor booths, yard games, glitter tattoo artists and free photos from the Gypsy Belle Photo Bus.
