Is Paratici set for Spurs return?
Similarly, a potential return of former managing director of football Fabio Paratici is an ongoing process.
BBC Sport understands machinations towards Paratici's possible comeback are in motion, though sources close to the situation have expressed caution by insisting a full agreement for the Italian's return is yet to be finalised and may take a while longer to be reached.
There is a sense, however, that a deal with a view to appointing Paratici to the club's new-look executive team is achievable.
Paratici, having first joined Spurs 2021, left the club in 2023 after an appeal against a two-and-a-half-year Fifa ban for alleged financial irregularities dating back to his spell at Juventus was rejected by Italy's highest sports court.
Despite the suspension, Paratici - who held talks with AC Milan in recent weeks - has remained a constant at Tottenham, working for the club in an unofficial consultancy capacity.
The Italian has also been a regular at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since his ban was enforced in spring 2023.
Paratici's suspension is due to expire in July, which could pave the way for his return if discussions are successful.

Arteta hits back at criticism of Arsenal captain Odegaard
Mikel Arteta has slammed calls for Martin Odegaard to be stripped of the Arsenal captaincy by insisting there is "no question" the Norway midfielder is the right man to lead their Premier League title challenge. Former Arsenal skipper Tony Adams recently urged Arteta to give England midfielder Declan Rice the armband instead of Odegaard. But the Gunners boss mounted a strong defence of Odegaard's leadership qualities after revealing Arsenal's players had voted for him to be retained as captain. "My opinion is clear, and it's not just my opinion. It's all the staff and especially the players," Arteta told reporters on Friday. "I asked them to vote for the captain and I got the results yesterday. By a mile, by a big, big (margin), by 100 miles, everybody chose the same person, Martin Odegaard, which is the most clear sign that you can have. "It's how they feel about who has to be their captain, to defend, to improve, and win the matches that we want to win, so I think there is no question about that." Arsenal, who last won the English title in 2004, have finished as Premier League runners-up for the last three seasons and are without a trophy since the 2020 FA Cup. Their inability to last the pace in the title race has led to mounting questions about Arsenal's mental strength, with Odegaard among those in the firing line. Arsenal title winner Adams, quoted in the Irish Independent, said: "Every now and again as a manager, you have to put someone who reflects you, who reflects the football club, that you think can actually take you to the next level. "You've got someone in there who's going to play every game all season, that's going to encourage people to come in and lay the foundations of a title-winning team. "Declan Rice can do that, Odegaard can't. Come on Arteta, make him captain." But former Arsenal captain Arteta said he could talk about leadership "for hours" and had no doubts about Odegaard's ability to inspire his team-mates. "What matters the most is how these guys feel about who needs to lead them, how they feel comfortable, who is going to push them, who is going to give them support when it's happening," he said. Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Manchester United on Sunday, then host newly-promoted Leeds before a difficult stretch that will see them play champions Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Newcastle. Arteta admits that run will provide early evidence of their potential in the title race. "Yes, especially with the consistency that we showed in the last three years, and now the margins, we know how small they are," he said. "We know that the competition has increased the level with recruitment, with another year together." Arteta confirmed close-season signings Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi will be fit to play at Old Trafford on Sunday. smg/dmc

Danilo Gallinari's pregnant wife speaks out after shark attack: ‘I'm traumatized'
Eleonora Boi, the pregnant wife of former NBA star Danilo Gallinari, revealed that she's still scared after being hospitalized following a recent shark attack in Puerto Rico. 'I have to say that I'm traumatized,' Boi said on 'Good Morning America' Thursday. 'I started crying and screaming, and I was screaming for help in Italian.' Boi originally detailed the 'worst day of my life' when she posted a photo of herself on Aug. 1 in what appeared to be a hospital. The 'Good Morning America' segment said Boi, a journalist, was swimming with Gallinari and their two children — a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son — in 'waist-deep' waters in Carolina when the attack happened. Boi noted in her Instagram post that the beach was quite populated at the time. 'I felt a strong pain and my thigh was burning, but my idea was, 'Maybe it's a huge jellyfish,'' Boi recalled. 'But, in reality, it wasn't a jellyfish.' The family fled the waters right after the attack, and a good Samaritan helped Boi. The segment noted that an unidentified woman put pressure on her wound with a towel until others arrived to help further. 'Oh, my God, I was saying, 'I don't want to die,' and 'I want that my baby is safe,'' Boi said. 'And I was crying. I was desperate, really desperate.' Boi is quite thankful for the help the woman provided at her moment of need. 'She was an angel. Danilo was with me, and she helped so much,' Boi told the network. 'I would like to say thank you to this woman, because I don't know her name, and I just want to say thank you to her because she helped a lot.' Boi landed in the hospital, where she underwent hours of tests. Since she was six months pregnant at the time, doctors had to perform several hours of tests to ensure the child — Gallinari said it's a boy — was OK and that they could proceed to surgery. Boi is expected to make a full recovery and has weekly visits scheduled with a doctor, per the ABC interview, but she's still struggling with the moment. She initially joked on Instagram about how the shark would be hearing from her legal representatives soon. 'I have to be honest, it's not easy,' Boi said. 'When I remember, I'm still scared. It's difficult.' Boi and Gallinari married in 2022, per People, and he spent this past season in the top basketball league in Puerto Rico following 14 seasons in the NBA, including time with the Knicks from 2009-11.

Arsenal players back Martin Odegaard as captain, Arteta says
LONDON (AP) — Mikel Arteta says he and his players have no doubts about Martin Odegaard's qualities as Arsenal captain. The Norway international has been captain for three years — all second-place finishes in the Premier League — and that won't change as the Gunners prepare for their season opener at Manchester United on Sunday. Club great Tony Adams had called for Arteta to give the armband to Declan Rice in a bid to elevate the team to its first top-flight title since 2004. Arteta, himself a former Arsenal captain, said that's not happening. 'It's not just my opinion,' he said Friday, "it's all the staff and especially the players. I asked them to vote (on) the captain and I got the results yesterday and by a mile — by 100 miles — everybody chooses the same person, which is Martin Odegaard, which is the most clear sign that you can have. 'It's how they feel about who has to be their captain, to defend, improve and win the matches that we want to win,' Arteta added. "There's no question about that." Odegaard is also Norway's captain. Keep digging Three straight runner-up finishes won't deter the team, Arteta said. 'You keep digging, digging, digging,' he said. 'You have to be digging because one day the gold is going to be there. For three seasons we have more points than any other team in this league, which is incredible. Now we have to do it in a season to earn one more point (than other teams)... that's our objective.' ___ AP soccer:
