Ye Questions If Cassie 'Extorted' Diddy, Social Media Reacts
Ye is back on X with more controversial statements. Early Friday morning (Feb. 21), the rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, invited followers to give their opinion on the sexual assault and abuse allegations Cassie Fine made against Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
'Did Cassie extort Puff?' he asked the social media audience. His upload comes after the landmark case Fine filed against Combs, and the widespread 2016 surveillance video of Combs punching and kicking her in a hotel was made public last year following abuse accusations made by the R&B singer against her former partner.
The replies included several posts from accounts bearing a purchased blue verification check on the platform, often an indicator of users attempting to drive engagement for monetary gain. Some responses, however, opposed the Chicago's musician prompt.
'Crazy to think this ni**a made 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'', said one user. 'The single best album I ever heard in any genre of music……now cuz mind is completely gone.'
'She got beaten. On film. He doesn't have enough money to cover that trauma. Whatever she got cash wise she deserves wayyyyyyy more,' added another.
One account blatantly responded, 'Don't release whatever music you're gonna release.'
Another user declared, 'Alright you unfollowed..'
In November 2023, Fine filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of repeated physical abuse for over a decade, sex trafficking, sexual battery, sexual assault, and violations of New York City's gender-motivated violence law. While the two settled for an undisclosed amount just days later, the litigation opened the floodgates for hundreds of alleged victims to file suit against the Hip-Hop mogul, as well as a criminal trial.
Currently, Combs remains behind bars awaiting trial after being arrested in September 2024. He faces charges including racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to the BBC, the Harlem native could be sentenced to life in prison for the racketeering charge, and another statutory minimum sentence of 15 years if found guilty of the sex trafficking charge. The trial is set to begin in May 2025.

India's fake weddings
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Imagine an event with all the fun of a wedding but none of the commitment, stress or family drama: you've just imagined the latest entry onto the Indian party scene. At a "fake wedding", people gather "to enjoy a wedding party minus the actual marriage', said the BBC, and the trend is spreading beyond India's shores. 'There for the energy' There are "dazzling lights, glittering outfits, Bollywood hits, a lavish spread of food and an atmosphere soaked in celebration". It all feels "extravagant, emotional and larger than life" but there's no bride and groom, "just the party". These "judgement-free" ceremonies offer the wedding experience "without drama", said Curly Tales. You can have the enjoyment of a Desi wedding "without the emotional baggage" or "financial headache". There's "no awkward gift-giving, no planning leave from work for a multi-day affair" and "fake smiles" aren't required for "distant relatives" you hardly know. Fake weddings chime with young people's desire to find reasons to celebrate. And the trend's "low-commitment nature" works well for the younger generation because "you're not attending out of obligation"; you're there "because you want to be – for the music, for the energy, and for the people". Dubai dance-offs The trend is already evolving. At some fake weddings, the organisers divide attendees into "groom's team" or "bride's team"; at others, there's "no alcohol, just a themed celebration", said the BBC. Fake Indian weddings are also "taking over Dubai", said Curly Tales, where ticketed parties are "decked out with dhols, DJs, dance-offs and full-blown wedding decor".In India's big cities – Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru – ticket prices for fake weddings start at around 1,500 rupees (£13) but they can be as high as 15,000 rupees or more. This is great news for India's $130 billion (£97 billion) wedding industry. Most "proper" weddings take place during the cooler months, typically between November and March, and venues are often empty between June and August. Fake weddings can step in to fill that gap. It's already clear there's real appeal in faking it. And why not, said Curly Tales, when you can swerve the "social minefield" of relatives asking "questions about your career, relationships or why you're not next in line"? The "only thing expected of you" is to "show up, dress well and have fun". Solve the daily Crossword

Mariah Carey's 5-Word Response About Going to Space Goes Viral
Mariah Carey's 5-Word Response About Going to Space Goes Viral originally appeared on Parade. Mariah Carey had a hilarious 5-word response when asked if she would consider going to space like rival pop star Katy Perry. During an appearance on BBC Radio on Thursday, August 7, the singer was asked, "Would you fancy going to space? You know, like Katy Perry did?" Carey was unaware of Perry's Blue Origin space mission, which she completed alongside Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez, and responded, "Did she go to space?" The host informed her that Perry did indeed go to space, but "not for long" and that she "went into orbit and back." Though the "We Belong Together" singer was doubtful at first, the host reassured her that he wasn't making the story up. Carey called the feat "amazing." But what's going viral is Carey's on-brand reply to the host asking, "Would you do it?" "I think I've done enough." Carey quipped back. RELATED: Shortly after the clip started making rounds on social media, fans took to X to share their reactions to Carey's hilarious response. "best response to this question possible" wrote one fan. "Mimi has no business in space. Let's keep her safe and sound on Earth. We can hear her vocals just fine in here!" said another. "LOL. Well played, Mariah, well played." added a third. Many pointed out that Carey was smart to shut down the space question, as Perry's space flight was heavily criticized and mocked by social media users. Others joked she would make the trip around Christmastime, a nod to her smash hit "All I Want For Christmas is You." 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Mariah Carey's 5-Word Response About Going to Space Goes Viral first appeared on Parade on Aug 7, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 7, 2025, where it first appeared. John Torode has broken his silence after being sacked from MasterChef on the BBC. It was confirmed by the BBC and production company Banijay UK last month that the 59-year-old's contract on the popular show would not be renewed. Australian-born Mr Torode started presenting MasterChef alongside Gregg Wallace in 2005 and confirmed he was the subject of an allegation of using racist language. This was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter, Mr Wallace. READ MORE: Lisa Faulkner and John Torode. (Image: Ian West / PA) A statement from Banijay UK said: 'In response to John Torode's statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. 'The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode, which occurred in 2018. 'This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. 'Banijay UK and the BBC have agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.' A BBC spokesperson said: 'John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. John Torode denies the allegation. "He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. 'The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. 'John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.' The 59-year-old has now broken his social media silence since the controversy and posted a photograph of his dog, Rory.
