Kelly Clarkson and Natalie Portman react to wearing 'identical' red carpet looks: 'We went to the same store'

Great minds think alike: Kelly Clarkson and Natalie Portman are bonding over their almost identical red-carpet looks.
In a preview clip from Tuesday's episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Grammy-winning host surprised the Star Wars alum with a side-by-side photo comparison of the time that they both wore 'the most identical outfit ever' at two separate MTV award ceremonies in 2002.
'When I was younger, we didn't have stylists,' Portman recalled prior to the photo reveal. 'You could kind of wear whatever you wanted. I would just be like, go to the store with my mom, pick something out. Now it's like a whole big to-do.'
Clarkson then explained that she had some 'early red carpet photos' of the pair to showcase, before displaying two snapshots of her and Portman both wearing a white button-down shirt, necklace, blue jeans, and sandals.
'Oh my God!' Portman shouted, bursting into laughter as she stared at the two images. Clarkson cheekily declared, 'We went to the same store with our moms and got the same outfit.'
The 'Stronger' singer explained that she was informed of their matching moment by a staff member on her talk show. 'I was like, 'We are almost wearing the most identical outfit ever,'' Clarkson said. 'It was a time, people! We're the same age. But yeah, I just found that so funny. Do you remember what were you doing that day?'
Portman correctly identified that she wore the outfit to the MTV Movie Awards in June 2002. The actress presented the category for Best Female Performance alongside her Star Wars costar Ewan McGregor, which went to Nicole Kidman for her role in Baz Luhrmann's 2001 musical, Moulin Rouge. (Which also starred McGregor!)
Meanwhile, Clarkson, who was still competing on American Idol at the time, wore her look just two months later at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2002. At the event, the Idol hopeful teamed up with fellow contestant Justin Guarini and the show's then-judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson to present the award for Best New Artist in a Video, which was received by Avril Lavigne for her rock banger, "Complicated."
"I just thought that was pretty hilarious that we look identical,' Clarkson told Portman of their shared style. 'That's the one time I get to say I look like you.'
Portman replied, "That's amazing."
The Kelly Clarkson Show airs weekdays in syndication. Watch Clarkson and Portman bond over their looks in the clip above.

Taylor Swift Fans Think Something Big is Coming Amid Friday's Major Announcement

Taylor Swift Fans Think Something Big is Coming Amid Friday's Major Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift have been dating for almost two years. Despite all the attention surrounding them, both have continued to stay focused on their careers. With Kelce heading into his 13th NFL season, Swift has been taking some time off after wrapping up her The Eras Tour in December. Meanwhile, all eyes were on Swift on Friday after she made a major announcement on social media, revealing that she now officially owns all of her masters and music. This is something the 35-year-old has worked toward for a long time, and it finally became a reality after she bought the albums back. Swift fans were already filled with excitement, but things reached another level later on Friday. IMAX, the theatrical distribution platform, posted a photo of beads styled like Swift's iconic friendship bracelets, spelling out "IMAX 🩵 TS." Swift fans flooded the replies, convinced that something big is coming. Some guessed it could be another documentary from her recent tour or another surprise project. While it's possible the post was simply celebrating her reclaiming her music, most fans think there's more to it. "ohhhh is something coming??" a fan said. "So a rerelease of Eras Tour in theaters or….," another wrote. "You announcing something?" added another. "EXCUSE ME WHAT??" one wrote. "UMMMMM WHAT IS THISSSSS??!!" a fan added. "IF THIS IS FOR A DOCUMENTARY, PLEASE I BEG YOU I CAN TRAVEL TO THE US ANYTIME," said a fan. Swift has released documentaries for her tours before. She put out one for The Eras Tour in October 2023, followed by an extended version of it in March 2024. There could be another film coming, maybe about The Eras Tour or something new entirely. Alf Clausen, Emmy-winning composer for ‘The Simpsons', dies at 84

LOS ANGELES — Alf Clausen, the Emmy-winning composer whose music provided essential accompaniment for the animated antics of 'The Simpsons' for 27 years, has died. His daughter Kaarin Clausen told The Associated Press that Alf Clausen died Thursday at his home in Los Angeles after struggling with Parkinson's Disease for about a decade. He was 84. Clausen, who also scored TV series including 'Moonlighting' and 'Alf' ('no relation,' he used to joke) was nominated for 30 Emmy Awards, 21 of them for 'The Simpsons,' winning twice. Al Jean, an early 'Simpsons' writer who was one of the key creative figures on the show in the 1990s, said in a post on X Friday that 'Clausen was an incredibly talented man who did so much for The Simpsons.' While Danny Elfman wrote the show's theme song, Clausen joined the Fox animated series created by Matt Groening in 1990 and provided essentially all of its music until 2017, composing nearly 600 scores and conducting the 35-piece orchestra that played it in the studio. Emmy Award-winning composer Alf Clausen has died at 84. Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP His colleagues said his music was a key component of the show's comedy, but Clausen believed the best way to back up the gags of Homer, Marge Bart and Lisa was by making the music as straight as possible. 'This is a dream job for a composer,' Clausen told Variety, which first reported his death, in 1998. 'Matt Groening said to me very early on, 'We're not a cartoon. We're a drama where the characters are drawn. I want you to score it like a drama.' I score the emotions of the characters as opposed to specific action hits on the screen.' Groening, in a 1996 interview, called him 'one of the unacknowledged treasures of the show.' Clausen was born in Minneapolis and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1966, and moved to Los Angeles seeking a career in music. In the 1970s he was a musical director on several TV variety shows including 'Donny & Marie.' Clausen worked as an orchestrator for composer Lee Holdridge in his scores for 1980s films including 'Splash' and 'The Beastmaster.' It was Holdridge who first got the composing job on 'Moonlighting,' the late-80s ABC rom-com detective series starring Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd, but he handed the gig off to Clausen, who would get six Emmy nominations for his music on it. Clausen won his Emmys for 'The Simpsons' in 1997 and 1998 and also won five Annie Awards, which honor work in animation in film and television. He was fired from 'The Simpsons' in a cost-cutting move in 2017, to the outrage of his collaborators and fans. He sued over his dismissal. Clausen is survived by his wife Sally, children Kaarin, Scott and Kyle, stepchildren Josh and Emily, and 11 grandchildren.
