Helen Hunt, 61, reveals she does not diet, use Botox or get plastic surgery... see her now

Daily Mail05-06-2025
Helen Hunt refuses to conform to Hollywood's beauty standards.
The 61-year-old actress used to feel pressure to look a certain way, but her outlook has changed in recent years.
'It felt impossible not to internalize the way you're supposed to look. And [there was] a certain amount of misery and shame around not looking exactly that way,' she said while speaking to Flow Space.
Helen realized that Hollywood's beauty standards were affecting her self-esteem. However, she now would not allow outside pressures to damage her mental health.
The What Women Want star said: 'I realized, "This could quietly ruin your whole life." I made a decision: I'm not playing. Not gonna [let it] take up a lot of space in my mind.'
Helen's new approach has been heavily influenced by The Only Diet There Is, a book written by the spiritual leader Sondra Ray.
The actress explained: 'What I took from it, is eat what you want and love every bite, period.'
This also meant she has refused Botox and plastic surgery as she prefers to age naturally.
Meanwhile, Helen previously admitted to obsessing about her appearance in the 80s.
The movie star felt under pressure to look a certain way at the time - but a change of attitude has proven to be transformational for her.
She told HuffPost Live: 'I had my run in the '80s about being really worried about how I looked. Everybody was more fit, or more thin, and I maxed out on worrying about it.'
Helen's change in attitude has benefited her mental and physical health.
The actress - who has won a host of accolades during her career, including an Academy Award and four Golden Globes - reflected: 'I just gave up on worrying about it. When I gave it up, my brain and body got better.
'I was taking these exercise classes called abs, thighs, and buns and I was like, "I'm going to be dead one day — do I really want to give up an hour in this class?"'
Helen has an Academy Award, four Emmys, and four Golden Globes under her belt.
She's known for her roles in film, theater, and television, including the NBC sitcom Mad About You (1992–1999) and the 1997 romantic comedy As Good as It Gets. For her portrayal of Jamie Buchman in Mad About You, Hunt won four Emmys, three Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She was seen in March in a new social media photo.
Hunt flashed a beaming smile from Wrigley Field in Chicago, joined by her boyfriend, Big Little Lies actor Jeffrey Nordling.
Bundled up for the late-winter chill, the Mad About You star, who charmed audiences as Jamie Buchman from 1992 to 1999, made it clear she was ready for baseball season to begin.
'In just a few hours, the Chicago @cubs will play my @dodgers in Tokyo in the first game of the 2025 season. Let's go Dodgers,' she captioned her post. 'But my goodness, the Cubs are epic and this stadium is a work of art.'
While decades have passed since she played Sarah Jessica Parker 's free-spirited best friend in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985), Helen still carries that unmistakable movie-star glow.
Her playful Instagram update follows a glamorous turn at last month's Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where she wowed in a chic Christian Siriano gown and held hands with Nordling.
The couple first crossed paths while co-starring in Shooter, a 1988 NBC movie about Vietnam War photographers.
She played Tracey, while he took on the role of Matt Thompson—but romance didn't seem to spark back then.
Fast forward to May 2022, and fans started speculating when Jeffrey shared a group photo from Dodger Stadium, where he and Helen were hanging out with Camryn Manheim and Billie Jean King.
By October, they made things official with a red carpet debut at the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 20th Anniversary Gala at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Hunt was born on June 15, 1963, in Culver City, California, and began acting as a child, making her television debut in the 1973 series Pioneer Woman.
She gained widespread recognition for her role as Jamie Buchman in Mad About You (1992–1999), earning four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
In 1997, Hunt won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Carol Connelly in As Good as It Gets, starring opposite Jack Nicholson.
She continued her film success with leading roles in Twister (1996), Pay It Forward (2000), and The Sessions (2012), the latter earning her an Oscar nomination.
Hunt made her feature film directorial debut with Then She Found Me (2007).
She was married to producer Matthew Carnahan from 2001 to 2017, and they share a daughter, Makena Lei Gordon Carnahan, born in 2004.
In the last five years, Hunt reprised her iconic role as Jamie Buchman in the Mad About You revival, which aired in 2019 on Spectrum Originals.
She has also directed episodes of popular TV shows, including Blindspotting (2021) and The Politician (2020), further establishing herself as a skilled director

WWE's partnership with ESPN will start sooner than expected

WWE 's partnership with ESPN will start earlier than first announced. The WWE's first premium live event on the network's platforms will be Wrestlepalooza from Indianapolis on Sept. 20. John Cena, who will retire from professional wrestling at the end of the year, will be part of the card. The other two premium live events this year — Crown Jewel on Oct. 11 and the Nov. 29 Survivor Series — will also be available to subscribers of ESPN's direct-to-consumer streaming service who have the unlimited plan. ESPN's direct-to-consumer package and upgraded app will debut on Thursday. When ESPN announced its deal with WWE on Aug. 6, the premium live events were supposed to move from Peacock in early 2026. A date was not announced but it was supposed to happen before WrestleMania. Peacock had been the home of WWE's premium live events since March 2021. ___

Cruiserweight Jake Paul and lightweight Gervonta Davis announce they will fight on Nov. 14

YouTuber-turned-cruiserweight boxer Jake Paul and undefeated WBA lightweight champion Gervonta 'Tank' Davis have agreed to fight on Nov. 14 at Atlanta 's State Farm Arena. Paul's promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, and Netflix announced the highly unusual matchup Wednesday. Netflix will stream the fight worldwide to its more than 300 million subscribers. The 30-year-old Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs), a three-division world champion, would be the first star near his ostensible prime to face Paul (12-1, 7 KOs), the online celebrity who has become one of the world's highest-paid combat sports athletes despite never fighting an elite boxer. Netflix and Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's business partner, did not refer to the fight as an exhibition, but it's unclear how Georgia officials would allow the matchup to be held as a competitive bout, given the fighters' dramatic difference in size and experience. Paul typically weighs more than 200 pounds in the ring, while Davis is a 135-pound champion who has never fought above 140 pounds. The fighters did not announce a contracted weight or the number of rounds in their planned bout. The fight would mark a return to Netflix for the 28-year-old Paul, whose victory last November over the then-58-year-old Mike Tyson drew an estimated 108 million viewers globally. After Paul beat a tepid Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by decision earlier this summer, he entered the World Boxing Association's cruiserweight rankings at No. 14, making him eligible to fight for world titles. Instead of pursuing a cruiserweight belt, Paul recently discussed a fight with two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua — a more logical opponent in terms of size and strength — but shifted his focus to the popular Davis. who has jousted with Paul on social media for years. Perhaps Paul can look inside his own family for a plan: His older brother, Logan, weighed 189 pounds before fighting Floyd Mayweather at 155 pounds in an eight-round exhibition bout in 2021. Promoters said the spectacle sold more than 1 million pay-per-view buys and made more than $80 million. Davis has been billed by his promoters as 'the modern day Mike Tyson" because of the frequency with which he has won by knockout, but his career and life have been rocky in 2025. He struggled to a shocking draw against Lamont Roach Jr. in his most recent ring outing in March, and he was arrested on a domestic violence charge in Florida last month before the misdemeanor battery case was dropped last week. Bidarian said Paul and Davis are 'favorites of the Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences,' and that their bout will 'determine the true face of boxing's next generation.' 'This isn't just a fight, it's a spectacle that brings together two of the most electrifying figures in boxing today,' Netflix vice president Brandon Riegg said. ___

Female TikTok star ends up in jail after filming herself running onto baseball field: 'Intrusive thoughts got the better of me'

A TikToker ended up in jail after filming herself running onto the field at a recent Los Angeles Angels game. Julia Hill, who has 1.7 million followers on TikTok, could be seen climbing over the barrier at Angel Stadium in Anaheim and sprinting onto the field during their game against the Cincinnati Reds. In the video, the camera is focused on Hill the entire time and she screams out in excitement as she sprints around the field. The post then cuts to a different angle where Hill can be seen lying face down on the field with cops and security placing her in handcuffs. She is then seeing being led off the field and to jail in Anaheim, where she claims she spent around six hours. Upon her release, she said: 'Guys, just got out of jail. It's like 2:23am. I was in jail for, like, six hours. Honestly I thought I was never coming out for a second.' Hill captioned the video on TikTok 'Intrusive thoughts got the better of me'. It has so far been watched 5.6 million times and has just over a million likes. In Anaheim, trying to run on the field in Angel Stadium is considered trespassing and, therefore, a misdemeanor. People who violate that law may face imprisonment for up to six months or a fine of not more than $1,000. But Hill didn't seem bothered by the potential ramifications. Titled 'Just got out of jail', she posted another video of herself outside the police station and was seemingly laughing off the experience. Set to Tee Grizzley's 'First Day Out', Hill can be seen mouthing the lyrics while dancing around. That video has been watched 1.7m times.
