Amitabh Bachchan is as well known for his iconic film roles as he is for his long-standing association with the reality game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Today, the veteran actor took a moment to reflect on a milestone moment in his television journey. Taking to Instagram, Amitabh shared a nostalgic post as he gears up for the latest season of KBC. He recalled that it was on this very day, 3rd July, back in 2000, that the first episode of the show was aired.
Marking the occasion, he wrote: 'Today 3rd July, 2025, as I work on this year's season KBC prep, I am told by the KBC team, 3rd July 2000, the first broadcast of KBC happened… 25 years, the life of KBC!'
T 5430 – Today 3rd July , 2025 , as I work on this years season KBC prep, I am told by the KBC team – 3rd July 2000, the first broadcast of KBC happened ..
25 years , the life of KBC ! 🙏

For those unaware, Kaun Banega Crorepati is the Hindi adaptation of the global hit Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The show debuted on Star Plus in 2000 and was originally commissioned by the programming team led by Sameer Nair. Amitabh has hosted the show for nearly its entire run, except for the third season, which featured Shah Rukh Khan as the host.
In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Sameer Nair recalled how difficult it was to get Amitabh Bachchan on board initially. He shared that many people around the actor, including his wife Jaya Bachchan, advised against it.
'When we first went to him, it was complicated because it was TV and he was a film star,' said Nair. The naysayers included Amitabh's wife and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan herself, who felt that 'it was somewhere not correct to shrink him to the small screen.' Nair also revealed that Amitabh declined to host the third season, which is when Shah Rukh Khan stepped in. However, that season didn't perform as well. Reflecting on the transition and the show's revival, he said: 'The credit also goes to Sony for reviving it. We did two seasons with Mr. Bachchan and one with Shah Rukh, and then we let go. They took it forward and really built it in the last 10 years so that we could get to the 25th anniversary.'
When KBC first launched, it wasn't just a new venture for Indian television, it marked a crucial turning point in Amitabh Bachchan's career. At the time, he was going through a significant creative and financial crisis. The success of KBC not only brought him into millions of homes across India but also re-established him as a household name, this time on the small screen.

Shaheer Shaikh Reviews Director Mukesh Kumar Singh's Kannappa, Says 'Proud Of You'

Shaheer Shaikh took to his Instagram story to express his admiration for Kannappa, helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. Kannappa, the Vishnu Manchu starrer mythological drama, was released on June 27, with high expectations. While the film is receiving mixed reviews on social media, television actor Shaheer Shaikh took to his Instagram story to share admiration for the movie and its director, Mukesh Kumar Singh. In a wholesome post, the actor shared a clip of himself watching the film, accompanied by a glowing caption that praised the director's work. In a touching Instagram story, Shaheer Shaikh shared his excitement about watching Kannappa, posting a video featuring the film's title screen with intricate visuals. His enthusiasm was palpable as he wrote, 'Finally watching Kannappa." What followed was a touching gesture of appreciation for the director, Mukesh Kumar Singh, with Shaheer expressing his pride, saying, 'Proud of you, Mukesh sir." This sincere message conveyed his admiration for the director's work, showcasing Shaheer's genuine support for the film. About Kannappa The mythological drama Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, has made a significant impact at the box office since its release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. With the Telugu version leading the charge, the film has garnered attention for its star-studded cameos, featuring industry heavyweights like Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. The ensemble cast, comprising seasoned actors like Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo and Preity Mukhundhan, adds depth and richness to the narrative. Kannappa tells the inspiring story of Thinnadu, a tribal hunter who transforms into the revered Shiva devotee Kannappa. The movie chronicles his remarkable journey from an atheist to one of Lord Shiva's most devoted followers, showcasing his unwavering dedication and ultimate sacrifice. Interestingly, Vishnu Manchu recently revealed at a press conference in Hyderabad that some exceptional scenes had to be cut from the film due to subpar visual effects (VFX). Despite this setback, Kannappa has achieved significant success, becoming Vishnu's highest-grossing film to date. This is a notable turnaround, considering his previous films, Ginna and Mosagallu, struggled to cross the Rs 1 crore mark. On Shaheer Sheikh's work front, the actor was last seen in Do Patti alongside Kriti Sanon in the lead, where he played the role of an abusive husband named Dhruv Sood. First Published:

Helldivers 2 on Xbox - release date, price, and pre order details

Image via Arrowhead Game Studios After being originally released more than a year ago, Helldivers 2 is finally coming to Xbox. Console exclusivity has always been the main weapon of the giants like PlayStation and Xbox. However, that thin line is diminishing gradually. Highly popular Xbox titles like Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, and many more made their way onto PlayStation, breaking the console exclusivity rule. Now, it's time for Sony to give back to the Xbox fans, and as a result, the Helldivers 2 Xbox port is here. Everything you need to know about Helldivers 2 on Xbox When Helldivers 2 was first released on PlayStation 5, it quickly garnered a huge fanbase. It actually changed the way people used to play co-op PvE games as it implemented many exciting features like Stratagems, Warbond Battle Passes, regular Major Orders by Super Earth High Command, and many more, despite keeping the core intact. So, it has always been a point of disappointment for the Xbox fans that this brilliant title was only available for PS5 and PC, and yes, it supported cross-play as well, which was adding salt to the injury. However, this injury is going to be healed completely as the official Twitter handle of Helldivers 2 has recently announced that the game is going to be available on Xbox Series X/S on August 26, 2025. Xbox fans who want to pre-order this game for their consoles don't have to worry anymore as the pre-ordering process is live right now. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trending in in 2025: Local network access control [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo Just like its price on PC and PS5, Helldivers 2 is going to be priced at $40 for Xbox Series X/S as well. One year ago, this whole scenario was quite unimaginable, keeping in mind that the arch-rivals of Xbox, Sony, owned the development team of the game, Arrowhead Game Studios. So, there was no way Sony would let its best-seller slide into its rival camp. But things have changed a lot since then, especially after Microsoft's multi-platform approach with its first-party titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Co-incidentally, another Xbox first-party title, Gears of Wars Reloaded, is coming to PS5 on August 26 as well . So, it's an absolute treat for all the fans, irrespective of the consoles they use, as the two gaming giants are breaking the console exclusivity and exchanging their best-sellers hand-to-hand.
