LHDN receives 328 million e-invoices from nearly 35,000 taxpayers since August 2024

GEORGE TOWN: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has received 328 million e-invoices from taxpayers as of yesterday, since the system was launched in August 2024.
LHDN tax operations department director (e-Invoice division) Dr Rasyidah Che Rosli said nearly 35,000 taxpayers had submitted e-invoices, including many who had adopted the system voluntarily ahead of their respective mandatory phases.
"This is a positive response from taxpayers under the first phase, as well as those in the second and third phases who have implemented e-invoicing voluntarily.
"The digital records via the e-Invoice system help prevent the loss or misplacement of documentation and will, in future, be integrated directly into taxpayers' return forms for greater efficiency and accuracy," she told reporters at the CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 Penang, held at the Setia Spice Convention Centre here today.
The event was officiated by Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo, and was attended by more than 1,300 participants, including government representatives, industry experts and corporate leaders.
Meanwhile, Rasyidah said LHDN had granted an interim six-month relaxation period for each implementation phase involving taxpayers who are issuing consolidated e-invoices.
She said the board was also supporting taxpayers during the transition by providing guidelines and frequently asked questions on its e-Invoice microsite.
"LHDN also provides a transmission mechanism through an application programming interface (API) integrated with MyInvois, which allows taxpayers to either develop their own system or use the services of technology providers," she added.
Taxpayers may also submit their e-invoices via the MyInvois portal free of charge, and are encouraged to refer to the LHDN e-Invoice microsite for further guidance.
The e-Invoice system was implemented on Aug 1, 2024, for companies with annual sales exceeding RM100 million. The second phase began on Jan 1, 2025, for companies with annual sales between RM25 million and RM100 million.
On June 5, LHDN announced that taxpayers with income or annual sales below RM500,000 would be exempted from the e-Invoice requirement for now.
Implementation has been postponed to Jan 1, 2026, for those with earnings between RM1 million and RM5 million, while those with income up to RM1 million will begin on July 1, 2026.

A Blueprint for Sector-Wide Change: Elsevier and TU/e Win TLFT 2025 Thought Leadership Industry Catalyst Award

Award recognizes campaign that redefined how universities demonstrate real-world impact—and sparked a global movement for institutional transformation. NEW YORK, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The TLFT 2025 Thought Leadership Industry Catalyst Award has been awarded to Elsevier and the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e) for their groundbreaking work on the 4th Generation University framework—a campaign that redefined how universities measure and communicate their societal value. The award, presented at the annual Thought Leadership for Tomorrow (TLFT) event, honors campaigns that do more than just inform an industry—they shift its entire direction. This year, judges recognized the 4th Generation University campaign for setting a new standard in how institutions evaluate their real-world impact, engage stakeholders, and influence investment and policy at a global level. 'What made Elsevier and TU/e's campaign stand out was its boldness and timing. The 4th Generation University framework isn't just thought leadership—it's a blueprint for institutional transformation,' said Brittany Williams, VP of Editorial & Content Creation at iResearch Services, the founding organization behind the TLFT Awards. 'It addresses a deep need in higher education: to measure what really matters, and to tell a story that resonates with governments, funders, and the public. That's the kind of systemic impact we launched the TLFT Awards to celebrate.' Why It Won The campaign was selected as the 2025 Industry Catalyst because it: Elevated a global issue: Academic leaders worldwide have cited the inability to demonstrate societal impact as a major existential risk. This campaign met that moment head-on, offering a data-driven, regionally grounded solution. Created new tools and language: The 4th Generation University framework introduced an entirely new evaluation model—centered on Talent, Research, Valorization, and Governance—that enables universities to articulate their real-world contributions in ways that matter to policymakers and communities. Sparked action and alignment: Within months of launching the report in April 2024, 12 universities signed on as founding partners. The campaign led to the creation of a growing global community of institutions aligned around the new framework. Impact Highlights Alumni retention: At TU/e, 46.7% of alumni remain within 75 km of the university, demonstrating regional talent flow and long-term socioeconomic impact. Policy relevance: The framework aligns with national and regional innovation priorities, incorporating patent data, LinkedIn alumni analysis, KET mapping, and geospatial visualizations. Sector-wide momentum: The campaign has been showcased at 10+ global events, in over 100 high-level meetings, and attracted more than 50 new requests to join the 4th Generation University community. About the TLFT Awards The Thought Leadership for Tomorrow Awards recognize organizations and individuals using original thinking to inspire, innovate, and ignite change. SSB Sibu appeals for public support to cover monthly operational cost

SSB Sibu Branch in urgent need of funds to support registered beneficiaries and cover operational costs of the care centre. SIBU (June 13): The Sarawak Society for the Blind (SSB) Sibu Branch is appealing for continued public support as it faces a monthly operational need of approximately RM13,000. The branch's vice-chairperson Datin Sri Judy Lau said the funds are essential to cover living allowances for its registered blind members and maintain the daily operations of its care centre. According to her, each registered blind individual currently receives a monthly living allowance of RM100 to help cover basic daily necessities. 'At present, there are about 80 registered recipients from the central region of Sarawak. At one point, the number had exceeded 100 individuals,' she told a press conference following a management meeting with the association on Thursday. The SSB care centre, which is operated by the branch, currently employs three full-time staff and houses one full-time resident. In the past, the centre also provided massage therapy training for the visually impaired. 'Today, many of them have become independent and are able to work on their own. 'Nevertheless, we continue to provide monthly living allowances,' Lau noted. She added that when the centre receives donated items such as rice or other essentials, these are distributed to eligible recipients. 'Every month, recipients will come to the centre to collect their allowances and any available aid,' she explained. Lau highlighted that anyone certified as blind by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) is eligible to register as a member of the society and receive the benefits provided. The Sarawak Society for the Blind (SSB) Sibu Division Branch will hold its 47th annual Open Day cum charity sale on October 12, from 7am to 12 noon, at the Sibu Blind Centre. According to organising committee chairperson Datin Sri Judy Lau, the fundraising target for this year remains at RM150,000 – the same as last year's benchmark. 'We hope the event will receive strong support and participation from the public, just as it has in previous years, so we can achieve our fundraising goal,' she said at a press conference, following a preparatory meeting on Thursday. Last year's event exceeded expectations by raising RM180,000, surpassing the original target, she revealed. Lau also expressed her gratitude to donors and supporters who have consistently contributed to the association's charitable efforts. This year's event will feature around 30 stalls, with the primary focus on food sales. In addition, a variety of items including daily necessities, ink paintings, decorative plants, and other goods will be available for purchase. To boost engagement, the organising committee is introducing two awards – 'Best Decorated Stall' and 'Top Fundraising Unit'. 'At the moment, charity sale tickets are being printed and will be distributed to confirmed participants and made available to the public soon,' Lau noted. Those interested in purchasing charity sale tickets may contact SSB Sibu Branch treasurer Lang Jai Lee on 016-8866886. operational cost public support Sarawak Society for the Blind Sibu SSB
