But there's a silver lining – six surprise freebies have just landed for members, offering new adventures to dive into.
Fans have until August 6 to claim this month's PS Plus Essential games before they're replaced.
The titles getting the boot are:
Boarderlands 3
NHL 24
Among Us
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Next-Level Edition)
All four have been free for PS Plus Essential subscribers throughout July, but will disappear from the service next month.
If you've already added them to your library, don't worry – they're yours to keep as long as your subscription stays active.
But if you haven't hit download yet, now's the time to act.
These titles won't be hanging around once August's line-up arrives.
In a move that's caught players pleasantly off-guard, Sony has also added six brand-new free games to its ever-growing catalogue – and you don't even need a PS Plus subscription to claim them.
The new releases are part of the PlayStation Indies promotion, and they're available now via the PS Store.
The freebies include:
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus
LISA: Definitive Edition
ANIMAL WELL
Neon White
The Forgotten City
A Space for the Unbound
Each game is available for a limited time, with some offers set to expire by the end of July, while others will remain free into August.
The full list and redemption deadlines can be found in the PlayStation Store's promotions tab.
For some, the departure of big-name titles like Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will sting.
Both games remain hugely popular among co-op fans and looter-shooter lovers.
That said, the newly added indies offer a fresh chance to try critically acclaimed titles that might have flown under the radar.
From psychological horror in Doki Doki Literature Club to time-travelling mystery in The Forgotten City, there's something for every taste – and no excuse not to explore them while they're free.
This comes after a PlayStation game mysteriously vanished from various global PS stores without warning.
The PS4 exclusive game Entwined, which Sony published in 2014, has abruptly exited the UK PlayStation Store, the US PlayStation Store, and the European PlayStation Store.
The game's profile still appears in the UK store, but with the tag: "Not available for purchase".
Strangely, the title is still available on the Japanese PlayStation Store and PS Plus Extra.
Concrete Genie, a 2019 release by the same Sony-owned studio Pixelopus and the only other published game from the studio, remains available on the PlayStation store.
Pixelopus was shut down by Sony in 2023.
Sony has made no comment on the removal of Entwined, first reported by Comic Book.
The report pointed out that there is no overt licensing or multiplayer servers that would force Entwined out of PS Stores.
It is unclear whether it is a rare error.

I create rollercoasters at the UK's top theme park – I know the best place to sit on the popular rides
Plus hear what one writer thought when thought when he was the first to ride the Toxicator HIGH THRILL I create rollercoasters at the UK's top theme park – I know the best place to sit on the popular rides Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HAVE you ever really thought about where the best place is to sit on a rollercoaster? Well, one ride expert, who is called 'Britain's Rollercoaster King' has revealed where exactly you should sit on a ride to get the ultimate experience at Alton Towers - and he's got lots of other handy tips too. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Anyone riding Nemesis should take a seat at the front for the most thrills Credit: Alamy 4 John is the brains behind topspin rollercoaster, the Toxicator Credit: Alton Towers John Burton, aka Britain's Rollercoaster King, is the mastermind behind some of the biggest rides in Alton Towers. As the Senior Creative Lead, John has made the likes of Nemesis Reborn, Toxicator and The Curse at Alton Manor. John says that where you sit on a ride can dramatically affect the ride experience. He explained: 'On coasters like Wicker Man, sit at the back for stronger airtime and a more intense pull over the hills. "For cinematic rides like Nemesis Reborn, go front row to get the full view and immersive story.' Once you've chosen where to sit, John added that it's crucial to never shut your eyes. He explained: 'By doing that you're missing half the experience - all the incredible theming, the storytelling, and the artistry that is built into every ride. 'People think it helps calm their nerves, but it actually makes the whole experience worse. "You lose all visual context, your brain can't process what's coming, which amplifies the fear.' It's not just individual rides that John has handy tips on, he also has a way to beat queuing at the park. I was the first to ride Alton Towers' newest ride Toxicator - it was a topsy-turvy spinning explosion 4 On Wicker Man, John said to sit at the back Credit: Alamy The classic mistake that John said everyone makes is heading straight to biggest rollercoasters with the most recognisable names at the front of the park. Instead, go to the back of the theme park first and work your way forwards. By doing this, John explained that you will "beat the queues and get more rides in.' For particular rides like the Nemesis Reborn, there's a particular way to avoid lightheadedness. It's a technique used by fighter pilots which is to tense your calves and core - these are said to reduce blackout sensations. Another ride that John knows all about is the new attraction for 2025, the Toxicator - because he's the brains behind it. The topspin ride has people seated back-to-back before being flipped around and held face down over a "pool of toxic alien acid". And here's what one writer thought when they were the first to ride Alton Towers' newest ride Toxicator – it was a topsy-turvy spinning explosion. Vaz revealed described the ride as "an intense assault on the senses as you are whirled round and round before being dragged back and flung forwards again." The ride is part of the theme park's Forbidden Valley and is next to Nemesis Reborn which was revamped last year. Dramatic green-lit water fountains on both sides of the ride shoot up around the attraction to represent toxic terror. And here's more about the Alton Towers new 'Disney style' dining plans in UK first with themed meals and snacks.

Molly-Mae is 'obsessed' with new Dyson headphones that are fully customisable
Molly-Mae says she is 'obsessed' with Dyson's noise-cancelling headphones that boast up to 55 hours of battery life and are completely customisable From her signature glam to her luxe home aesthetic and minimalist fashion sense, Molly-Mae is known for having a taste for the best, so it's no surprise that she loves one of Dyson's latest gadgets. The Airwrap-famous brand announced the launch of its customisable headphones last summer, and they've now caught the attention of Molly, who called them her latest obsession. In an Instagram post to her followers, Molly shared that she had her eyes on Dyson's OnTrac Headphones for a while, after spotting them on one of her friends. Thanks to gadgets like Apple's AirPod Max, £499, and Sony's WH-1000XM5 Premium Noise Cancelling Headphones, currently £244, over-ear headphones have had a resurgence in popularity, especially ones that look sleek and stylish. However, it's not just about fashion with Dyson's pair. They've been engineered for all-day comfort and premium sound. Priced at £449, they are definitely an investment piece but match the prices of other brands such as Apple and Bose. Designed with soft microfibre ear cushions and high-rebound foam, they provide a comfortable fit that won't add too much pressure on the ear, even after all-day wear. The outer caps have been made from a high-grade aluminium, which makes them both lightweight and durable, and they're available in either an anodised CNC finish or a smooth ceramic texture. These headphones also have an extended sound range of 6 Hz to 21 kH, delivering fantastic sound quality, so every playlist, podcast, or phone call sounds crystal clear. They also feature active noise cancelling to block out background noise and 55 hours of battery life, meaning you can listen for weeks without recharging. However, what makes these headphones stand out from others on the market is their customisation. With an array of different colour combinations for the ear cushions and caps, you can make them totally your own. Molly kept true to her neutral and low-key aesthetic by opting for the CNC Black Nickel headphones combined with the Ceramic Chalk caps and the Caramel cushions. As with most things Molly-Mae posts, they're bound to trend and we predict these it-girl headphones will be the next big thing to get your hands on.
