Allegheny County sheriff K9 Zeke retires after 7-year career
The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office is honoring one of their K9s who just retired.
K9 Zeke retired Friday after seven years on the force.
He joined the sheriff's office in 2018 and officials say his bomb detection training kept him busy responding to threats at various facilities and participating in multiple gun searches.
On top of his hard work, Zeke was also loved by the community for the hundreds of outreach projects he was a part of.
'To know that Zeke and Deputy Perrier worked not only on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, but also throughout southwestern Pennsylvania is a testament to their skills as a team and a validation of the crucial role that K9′s play in this office and throughout law enforcement,' Sheriff Kraus said.

PORTLAND, Ore. () — Investigators believe they've spotted the man accused of murdering his daughters amid an ongoing manhunt in Washington State, authorities said. Travis Decker has been missing since May 30. He is accused of murdering his three daughters, who were found dead near a campsite with his truck on June 2. A 'lone hiker' was spotted by a hiking party near Enchantments, a tip that led to a helicopter crew locating an off-trail subject before running from sight near Colchuck Lake, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said in a Tuesday afternoon. They believe this person is Decker. Court documents reveal grim details as search for father accused of killing daughters continues The hiking party that saw the man said he 'appeared to be ill prepared for trail and weather conditions, and appeared to be avoiding others,' officials said. 'Teams later picked up a trail and deployed K9s to the area, tracking the subject to the area of Ingalls Creek Trailhead on HWY 97,' the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities are now who have been in the Enchantments area, west of Wenatchee, in the past week and saw something suspicious to contact the sheriff's office with any information. African wildcats, over $85K in drugs found in Central Pennsylvania basement
Police say they found dangerous drugs and African wildcats inside a Central Pennsylvania home during a bust. According to NBC News affiliate WJAC, the exotic animals were found living in the basement of a Clearfield County home. The state game commission took them away. Investigators say they also found three pounds of methamphetamine, 159 grams of fentanyl and nine grams of heroin. Combined, the drugs have a street value of more than $85,000.
