Stephen A Smith says he would divorce Serena Williams for Super Bowl halftime show cameo

Fox News11-02-2025

Serena Williams made a surprise cameo during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX halftime show, as she was spotted dancing during the performance of "Not Like Us."
Making an appearance for that song sparked some debate on social media, especially considering Lamar's song is a diss track toward the rapper Drake, whom Williams dated in 2011.
Many believed it was no coincidence Williams' time to shine was during this track, and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith thinks the same.
It's why, during his Monday edition of "First Take," he told his colleagues he would divorce her if he was her husband.
"If I'm married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a--, 'cause clearly you don't belong with me," Smith said on the show, which led to some laughter from his colleagues.
"What you worried about him for and you're with me? Bye. Bye."
Williams is married to Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, and they share two daughters together.
Smith's co-host Ryan Clark responded, "If you were with Serena Williams, you're going to be a kept man anyways. Don't start that."
Lamar and Drake have quite the beef with each other, though only one of them saw Grammys won for their diss tracks.
"Not Like Us" won Song of the Year, which also won Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
It's also worth noting Lamar was joined by SZA during the performance as well, and she confirmed dating Drake after he rapped about it on the track, "Mr. Right Now," with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin.
Whether it's trolling or not, Williams and Lamar do share a connection with their childhood, having grown up in Compton, California.
Legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson was also seen during the performance as "Uncle Sam," as Lamar switched songs throughout.

The Beyoncé Effect: The Grammys Switching Up Country Album Categories Leads To Major Side-Eye

Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty The country world is shooketh after Beyoncé came through and crushed the buildings. In March 2024, Beyoncé dropped her country album Cowboy Carter and won the Best Country Album Grammy, and became the first Black artist to win the award. Country artists (who…how can I say this…drive pickup trucks with big tires and cuff the brim of their baseball caps to the point of strangulation) got all upset and forgot that Queen Bey was born and raised in Houston. So to appease the unseasoned folks among us, the Grammys announced that they will have two new categories ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover. Related Stories The Best Country Album category has been renamed Best Contemporary Country Album, while Best Traditional Country Album has been added, according to a Grammys news release. Yes, the Grammys have segregated the little award categories so that non-conventional country artists (read Black people) don't win the Grammys for Best Country Album because those who dress up to celebrate a war that they lost can't handle it. Don't believe me? In 2016, Beyoncé performed her song 'Daddy Lessons' at the Country Music Awards. Alan Jackson reportedly walked out, and Travis Tritt was so upset that he went to social media to cry, 'I love honest to God country music and feel the need to stand up for it at all costs. We don't need pop or rap artists to validate us.' Fam, they act like Beyoncé went on stage as Sasha Fierce and spit: 'Hips tik tok when I dance/On that Demon Time, she might start an OnlyFans (OnlyFans).' She literally sang a country song on a country stage, but I know, this isn't about race. According to the Grammys' new definitions, traditional country will be considered '…more traditional sound structures of the country genre, including rhythm and singing style, lyrical content, as well as traditional country instrumentation such as acoustic guitar, steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, piano, electric guitar, and live drums.' Traditional country will also include sub-genres, like western, western swing and outlaw country. Sounds like a whole lot of words to say participation trophy. AmIrite? Kendrick Lamar Performs 'Not Like Us' In Toronto & Fans Beg For An Encore, Social Media Piles On

Kendrick Lamar may have been the winner in his spring 2024 beef with Drake, but a year later, he's still pouring salt in the wound. He's currently traveling around the country for his Grand National Tour with SZA, but last night he went north of the border, taking the show to Drake's hometown of Toronto. During his set at Rogers Centre, he, of course, had to perform the creep anthem directed at Drake, 'Not Like Us.' After Thursday night's show, social videos immediately show Kendrick's other diss-related tracks, including 'Like That' and 'Euphoria,' as pyrotechnics ignited atop the stage, and the crowd can be heard singing along. Fans even begged to perform an encore of 'Not Like Us,' but he didn't oblige, instead moving on down the setlist. The performance went off without a hitch, with no special antics while on his foe's home turf, but ironically enough, he's got another Toronto show planned for tonight, which happens to be Friday the 13th. After that, he has two more East Coast shows before taking the tour overseas, with approximately 20 more shows in Germany, England, Spain, Italy, and concluding in August in Sweden. Then there are two more Australian shows scheduled for December. There's not much Drake could do to interfere with Kendrick's victory lap, though he did attempt to divert some of the attention away by scheduling a stream with Kai Cenat. It was rescheduled at the last minute, as they were supposed to select the fan winners of the 'Somebody Who Loves Me' music video contest. They linked up to give fans the chance to write treatments and send samples of how they'd direct the video, with 20 lucky submissions getting selected and receiving $15,000 each. 'We need more time with the treatments for somebody who loves me,' Cenat wrote on his Instagram Story Thursday. 'So we are pushing the stream back a few more days. Apologies.'
