Timpson, affectionately known as "KK," starred at Early County High School in Georgia before becoming a standout at Florida State. She was a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection and earned the conference's Most Improved Player award in 2023.

Last season with the Seminoles, Timpson averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds across 33 games — her second consecutive season averaging a double-double.
