Salman Khan finds training for action scenes tougher
During a conversation with the press at an event, Salman Khan recently spoke about his much-anticipated film, Battle of Galwan. The 59-year-old superstar shared that training for intense action scenes has been "physically demanding" and that it gets more difficult every year.
Remembering his earlier days, Salman noted that he would train himself in one or two weeks. "Now I'm running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that," the Battle of Galwan star told PTI.
Salman Khan calls Battle of Galwan a 'very difficult' film
In the same event, Salman Khan further spoke about how his perspective of shooting for Battle of Galwan has changed in a few months. Salman recalled that when he signed on to the film, he found the upcoming war drama "amazing." However, it has been a "very difficult" movie for him to do.
Discussing the challenges of shooting in the high-altitude region, Salman shared that he will be in Ladakh for 20 days and will spend 7-8 days filming in cold water for his role. The superstar will be filming for the movie this month.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash held between Indian and Chinese troops. Produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films, the movie delves into India's bravery as the nation fought a battle against China without a bullet.
In Battle of Galwan, Salman Khan plays the main role of an army soldier, late Colonel B. Santosh Babu. Actress Chitrangda Singh is cast as the female lead in the movie.
Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss' directorial venture, Sikandar, earlier this year. The action drama co-starred Rashmika Mandanna.

How furious Rajesh Khanna reacted as Sohail Khan wanted to buy his home Aashirwad, Salman Khan offered to work in his film for free: ‘Mujhe sadak pe lana chahta hai'
Rajesh Khanna was among the first superstars of Hindi cinema, but while the highs of Khanna's career were monumental, his lows were equally steep. Gautam Chintamani's biography Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna mentions one such incident from the twilight of his career when the actor faced financial constraints. At that time, it was Salman Khan's younger brother Sohail Khan who expressed interest in buying Khanna's iconic bungalow, Aashirwad. As rumours and speculation about Rajesh Khanna's financial ruin began to circulate, talk also began about the possibility of the actor selling Aashirwad. 'For a better part of the early years of the first decade of the new millennium, troubled clouds had taken over almost every small pocket of sunshine in Khanna's life. His financial state went from bad to worse and there were murmurs that he was finally on the lookout to sell Aashirwad,' an excerpt from the book reads. The book also recounts how a notice from the income tax department — demanding unpaid dues of 'over a crore and a half rupees' — further damaged Khanna's public image and added credibility to the rumours. During this time, screenwriter Rumi Jaffery received a call from Salman Khan, expressing Sohail Khan's desire to purchase Aashirwad. To convince Rajesh Khanna to let go of the bungalow, the Khan family extended several lucrative offers. Along with offering to pay any amount for the property, Salman and his family also agreed to settle Khanna's outstanding income tax dues. On top of that, Salman even offered to act in a Rajesh Khanna production free of cost. Rumi Jaffery, acting as the messenger, took all these offers and approached Rajesh Khanna. However, the veteran actor's reaction was far from welcoming. The book recounts Khanna's response to Rumi's proposal. The screenwriter recalled in the book, 'When Khanna finally spoke, he asked him how he could even think of suggesting such a thing and accused him of stabbing him in his back. 'Kakaji said, 'I consider you a son-in-law aur tu mera ghar bikwana chahta hai… Sadak par lana chahta hai!' I had a tough time explaining that I was merely a postman delivering Sohail Khan's message.'' For Rajesh Khanna, Aashirwad was more than just a bungalow—it was a symbol of his superstardom and legacy. He believed it held emotional value not just for him, but also for his fans. The book mentions, 'He would often be quoted saying, 'A king is a king whether on throne or in exile.'' He considered Aashirwad his legacy. 'He even mused that he would die some day but Aashirwad would live on forever; and till such time, the world would never forget Rajesh Khanna,' the book notes. Years later, when Rajesh met Sohail Khan, he scolded him for trying to 'buy him out' through Jaffery. Rajesh Khanna continued living in Aashirwad alone, as he and his wife Dimple Kapadia were living separately. He breathed his last in 2011 in the beloved bungalow. Later, an industrialist bought the property and demolished it to make way for a high-rise building.

Rakesh Roshan undergoes preventive procedure for carotid arteries blockage
New Delhi, Jul 22 (PTI) Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan on Tuesday posted that he was in the hospital to get preventative procedures done after he found out that both of his carotid arteries to the brain were 'above 75 per cent blocked". The 75-year-old actor-filmmaker, who shared the health update with a photograph from the hospital, said he is now back home and fully recovered. 'This week has been truly eye opening, during a routine full body health check up the Dr conducting the sonography for the heart suggested I also do one for the neck. By chance we found out that although asymptomatic, both my carotid arteries to the brain were above 75 per cent blocked," Roshan said on Instagram. The director revealed that if ignored the condition could be extremely dangerous. 'I immediately admitted myself into the hospital and got the preventative procedures done. I am back home now fully recovered and hope to get back to my workouts very soon. I hope this inspires others to stay on top of their health especially where the heart and brain is concerned," the director added. Roshan, who is the father of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, said above the age of 45, everyone should get regular scans such as a heart CT and a carotid brain artery sonography which are 'often ignored completely". 'I think it's important to remember that prevention is always better than cure. I wish a healthy and aware year to you all," Roshan said. The filmmaker is known for hit films like 'Karan Arjun", 'Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai", and 'Koi… Mil Gaya" and its sequels. He will be co-producing the upcoming film 'Krrish 4" which is to be directed by Hrithik.
