Google's Circle to Search to provide instant tips & strategies in mobile gaming
Previously, Circel to Search was used to identify objects on-screen, translate text, get quick information, and more by simply circling the elements. Now, Google has expanded its capabilities into mobile gaming and AI Mode. Therefore, know how Android users can take advantage of Google's Circle to Search while gaming.
At the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025, Google announced that Android users can now use Circle to Search during mobile gaming. This may come as a major support feature for mobile gamers. The feature is reported to help gamers overcome obstacles by getting instant support for gaming strategies, character weaknesses and strengths, new tricks, and much more. 'Get the tips you need without leaving your game, helping you get unstuck and keep the action going,' Google mentions in a blog post.
To activate Circle to Search, users just have to long-press on the home button or navigation bar. Then, simply circle or tap on the element or character to get relevant search results. Users can also ask a search prompt, get AI-generated responses in AI Overviews or simply switch to AI Mode to get more tips and tricks for gaming from Gemini. With the addition of AI Mode, users can also ask follow-up questions for greater insights. After getting the required information, users can resume their gameplay.
Google highlighted that Circle to Search is available on more than 300 million Android devices. Therefore, several users rely on the feature for seamless search for exploring the web and getting quick results. Now, with expanded capabilities in games and the addition of AI Mode could add more value to the feature for Android users.

Punjab Police opens cyber kiosk for malware analysis in Mohali
Chandigarh, Jul 21 (PTI) In a step towards enhancing cybersecurity, Punjab Police on Monday inaugurated a cyber kiosk for malware analysis of mobile devices at the state cybercrime office in Mohali. The self-service kiosk is designed to scan and sanitise Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as USB drives and external storage, from malicious, banned, or unsafe applications and files. Inaugurating the cyber kiosk, Special DSP (cybercrime) V Neeraja said, 'This is a public initiative for the citizens which has been set up at four places — in Mohali and CP (commissioner of police) offices in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. Similar cyber kiosks will be set up in other districts as well." Addressing representatives from public welfare and industry associations, Neeraja emphasised that the kiosk provides a quick, secure and free 24×7 service, with each scan taking just 2-5 minutes. 'There is no risk of data leakage – citizens can safely check their devices for malware and remove threats instantly," she said. The officer also urged people to remain vigilant against cybercrimes and stressed the importance of immediate reporting via the cybercrime helpline – 1930 – or the 'Cyber-Mittar' chatbot on the portal Jashandeep Singh Gill, SP (cybercrime), said the kiosk identifies IMEI details, SIM information and performs quick and deep scans of applications and internal storage. 'Users can uninstall infected apps, delete harmful files, and generate scan reports instantly. The report can be sent to the user's email or stored on a USB device. The system is user-friendly, secure, and operates through a touch screen interface," he said. An official statement said that developed by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in collaboration with Arishti Info Labs, the kiosk brings malware analysis directly to the public domain without the need for advanced technical skills. The cyber kiosk in Mohali has been set up in collaboration with real estate company Omaxe as part of its corporate social responsibility facility, it said. Indian-Origin CEO Facing Backlash For Ditching Startup To Join Google: "Generational Villain"
Days after Google hired Windsurf's Varun Mohan, a backlash has ensued with social media users slamming the Indian-origin CEO for leaving the company. Mr Mohan, alongside co-founder Douglas Chen, joined Google's artificial intelligence (AI) arm DeepMind, following a high-stakes corporate tug-of-war that reportedly saw OpenAI in advanced talks to acquire Windsurf just last month. His abrupt exit, however, left Windsurf in turmoil. The startup managed to secure a last-minute acquisition by another AI firm, Cognition, after a weekend of frantic negotiations. The company's new CEO, Jeff Wang, described the rescue as "crazy". Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Mohan, saying he would not work with him again. "Varun Mohan and the team at Windsurf built something great," wrote Mr Tan, adding: "He and his team don't deserve to be dragged and I think in the long term their decision to sell will be vindicated. It can be irresistible to fan the flames on Internet beef but in this case everyone should stand down given what really happened." Mr Mohan, who has Indian roots, was raised in Sunnyvale, California, by parents who migrated from India. He attended The Harker School in San Jose before moving on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned both a Bachelor's and Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science. He co-founded Windsurf in June 2021, with the startup gaining prominence for developing AI tools that streamline software development workflows.
