Emmerdale's Mack actor breaks silence on 'exit' as he warns 'no one is safe'
Lawrence Robb has addressed his supposed 'exit' from Emmerdale for the first time. The actor, 34, stars as Mackenzie Boyd on the ITV soap and fans recently discovered that he is set to find a 'clue' in the long-running storyline that has seen John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) go on a crime spree across the Yorkshire village.
The soap star appeared on Wednesday's edition of Loose Women alongside Christine Lampard, Denise Welch, Coleen Nolan and Jane Moore, and while he did not comment on whether Mack would be killed or not, he did address the 'rumours' that he is set to leave the village. That said, Lawrence refused to confirm or deny anything.
He said: "There are lots of rumours, and rumours they shall remain", before adding: "I've always said that being in the show that I never want to be too prescriptive with it. " It comes after it was claimed that Mack will die at the hands of killer John Sugden after he unearths his dark secret.
But when Nolans singer Coleen asked the actor how he would feel about being killed off, he admitted that he would always feel grateful for the time he's had on the show, as he issued a warning to fans. He said "I've always enjoyed doing what I'm doing. If, and when, the time to leave comes, whether that would be my choice or the choice of the producers, then I will be thankful for the time that I've had. Ultimately, no one is safe in the show", before quipping: "Especially not in that village!"
Spoilers recently hinted that it could be the end for Mack, who was introduced as the long-lost brother of Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) in 2020. The clue simply reads: "Mack discovers a clue, what has Mack found?" It's very vague but the spoilers in full appear to allude that it's linked to John, and, just days ago Lawrence confirmed that it is.
Asked about what he discovers and what it means, the star confessed it would lead to the moment Mack finally realises he's been right about John all along. He then teased it will land him in serious danger, with "bleak" scenes ahead.
But speaking out about working with co-star Oliver Farnworth, who plays killer John, Lawrence had nothing but good things to say. Addressing the "tense" and "not good" scenes they've had to film together, Lawrence said offscreen the pair get along very well, with him calling Oliver "the loveliest man".
He shared: "Oh, he's great. What a lovely boy. I've said that several times. I phoned him a couple of weeks ago, just to say how I thought he was doing such a great job, because, you know, playing a psycho like that - it is not easy.
"And I do think he's doing a great job. And he is just the most loveliest man. It is surreal working with someone in such a relative close proximity for a while, and to really get to know them better and to just have a laugh with them, but then then do some not very nice scenes."
On the future for Mack amid a row with his wife Charity Dingle and the stuff with John, Lawrence remained coy but did hint at bad things ahead. He simply said: "It's not looking good."
Lawrence went on: "Whilst Mackenzie has got the argument with Charity on his plate, he's also got a pretty critical moment with John on his plate as well. And, combine these two things and it does not spell good things."

The Chase fans rip into 'worst final they've ever seen' - but can YOU answer the questions that saw 'shocking' player eliminated in just 20 seconds?
The Chase viewers were left unimpressed after what many dubbed the 'worst final ever' aired on ITV, with one contestant eliminated in just 20 seconds. The British quiz show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, 65, features four contestants who have to work as a team to answer general knowledge questions. They must defeat the Chaser, a ruthless quiz genius, to win the cash prize, with the maximum amount that can be won for a single player being £100,000. But during a recent instalment, Chaser Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast, 59, needed just five questions to knock out solo finalist Nicola. Viewers were stunned as Nicola, the last contestant standing, was quickly dispatched in one of the show's shortest final chases ever - but could you have answered all five questions correctly? Earlier in the episode, Nicola scraped through after a weak performance in the cash builder round, earning just £2,000 - compared to teammates Casey's £5,000 and Ian's £8,000. However, both Casey and Ian were eliminated before the final round, leaving Nicola to face The Beast alone. Despite her determination, Nicola only managed to answer four questions correctly in her two-minute final chase, earning a total of five points, including her one-point head start. Before the round began, she admitted she had a 'feeling she'd be caught' - and she was right. Mark got all five questions correct in just 20 seconds, ending the game with a whopping 1 minute and 40 seconds still on the clock. Firstly, Bradley asked the star: 'What type of fashion accessory is a trilby?', Matt proceeded to answer the question correctly with 'hat' before they moved on to the second question. Bradley then asked Mark: 'Eric 'Butterbean' Esch has 58 KOs in what sport?' to which he replied 'boxing'. And for the third question, Mark was asked: 'Zodiac and Consul were brands by which carmaker?' Mark quickly answered with 'Ford' before Bradley asked him the following question: 'James Collinson was a member of which artistic brotherhood?' Viewers were stunned as Nicola, the last contestant standing, was quickly dispatched in one of the show's shortest final chases ever - but could you have answered all five questions correctly? Whizzing through all the answers in just 15 seconds, Mark confidently confirmed the answer was Pre-Raphaelite. Meanwhile, the final question which caught Nicola out was: 'Frosch' is the German word for what amphibian?' With plenty of time on the clock remaining, Mark confidently answered the question with 'Frog'. And just like that, Nicola was out - and viewers were left cringing, dubbing the episode as the show's 'worst final ever'. Viewers took to social media to vent, with one writing: 'I actually feel dumber from watching that episode (face palm emoji).'; 'That was the worst team I've ever seen.'; 'Never ever have I seen such a failure... 2k in the pot! ... Only 5 questions to be answered!'; Others echoed: 'Done in 20 seconds! Shocking.'; 'Shocking final chase.'
