How to trigger the Retribution skill in Stellar Blade for maximum damage
Stellar Blade has finally launched on PC, opening up its world of stylish combat and tough enemies to even more players. The game's battle system is built around precise timing and sharp reflexes. One of the most powerful skills in the game is called Retribution. It is a finishing move that becomes available after you perfectly parry enemy attacks in a sequence.
Retribution deals massive damage and can turn the tide in a close fight, especially against stronger Naytibas. Whether you play with a gamepad or a keyboard, the steps to trigger Retribution are the same. The only difference is which button or key you press at the end — and for keyboard players, that will depend on your personal keyboard settings.
How to use Retribution in battle

You need to be patient and time your parries correctly. Here's how you can pull it off:
Stop attacking for a while and focus only on parrying enemy strikes.
Every successful parry fills up your Guard Meter. This is shown as small yellow dots just below your health bar.
Once the enemy takes enough pressure, it enters a Stagger state. You'll see it drop to its knees or freeze in place for a second.
At this moment, a prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen asking you to use Retribution.
Press the correct button or key and your character will perform a powerful move, often killing or heavily damaging the enemy.
If the enemy survives, you'll need to avoid their next combo, land more parries, and trigger Retribution again.
Key inputs for Retribution
The final step of Retribution is the same across all platforms, but the actual button or key you press depends on your control scheme. Here's how it works:
Gamepad/Controller users
If you're using a PlayStation controller, press Triangle when the Retribution prompt appears.
If you're on an Xbox controller, press Y to perform the attack.
The Retribution icon will show up on-screen, so you'll know when to press it.
Keyboard users
The action to trigger Retribution will depend on how you've mapped your keys.
It's usually the key you've assigned to 'Special Attack' or 'Execution Move.'
Check your keyboard settings in the control menu if you're not sure. The process is still the same: parry, stagger, and then hit the Retribution key when prompted.
No matter what you play on, learning to use Retribution will make your combat much more effective. Keep practicing those perfect parries, and you'll soon master this deadly move in Stellar Blade.

Will Sony Keep Selling PlayStation 5 Consoles After PS 6 Launch? Here's What We Know
Last Updated: Sony PS5 is now available in Slim and Pro variants but what happens when the new PS 6 gen console launches in the market? Sony confirms what happens to the PS 5 series once the PS 6 launches. Sony has seen big success with the PlayStation 5 series consoles with millions picking up the device. And the company is already starting with the development of the PS6 which has brought concerns about the shelf life of the PS 5 model and how long the company will sell the version in the market. Sony has publicly talked about these changes and its plans with the successful model and what happens when the PS 6 eventually comes out. That's the word from one of Sony's senior heads who has quoted speaking in an interview with a Japanese publication recently. The company plans to keep selling the PS 5 models in the market even though the PS 6 is available on shelves. Sony does not intend to phase out the older version right away and give people some time to grab a unit, probably for a better deal than usual. To be fair, Sony has been updating the PS 5 series with Slim and the Pro variants which should aid the company's efforts to keep its fastest-selling console available for buyers. It is good to see Sony have a long-term plan for its consoles rather than shift them out of the market in favour of the new versions. The Sony executive even says PS5 was built with long-term use in mind, and adding the Slim and Pro variants shows the longevity of these consoles that can be tested in the best of times. Get to know... Akshath Acharya
Currently I am: A full-time artist, producer, performer and singer-songwriter. High point in life: When life steered me towards music, right after college. Low point in life: Those days when I don't feel creative, overthink or feel stagnant. On my playlist: Ishq, by Donn Bhat; anything by John Mayer; Coke Studio. One thing I would never buy: Chicken wings or pizza. Today I'm craving: Grilled chicken. Last thing I ordered online: A hummus and chicken wrap. App I check before going to bed: YouTube. Advice I'd give my 18-year-old self: People will try to convince you there's only one path to a good life, that not following it means you're doomed. But life has a weird way of nudging you toward what you're meant to do. Believe in yourself and keep showing up. My favourite subject in school: History. I'd swipe right on: An accurate Google Maps ETA in Mumbai. My secret skill is: I am decent at chess. I'm also becoming quite the barista. A superpower/magic tool I wish I had: The ability to fall asleep instantly. My favourite Sunday memory: Brewing coffee on a slow Sunday morning, watching a great match and then gaming on PS5 for the rest of the day. My most star-struck moment: Seeing a Nissan Skyline GTR R34 for the first time at an auto show at age nine. My favourite bad habit: Coffee. If I could travel back or forward in time: I'd pass. I'm doing my best to stay grounded in the present. The best thing about fame: The constant validation does feel nice. The worst thing about fame: You really feel it when that validation dips even slightly. From HT Brunch, June 14, 2025 Follow us on
