Adam Schefter reveals bad news for potential Jalen Ramsey, Steelers trade
The Jalen Ramsey-to-Pittsburgh train may be coming to a halt — as prominent insider Adam Schefter revealed some troubling news for a potential Steelers trade.
On a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter was asked if there were any more rumors he could shed light on — and he chose to address the Ramsey situation:
"The Dolphins continue to have conversations about trading Jalen Ramsey," Schefter said. "And I think that a trade there will get done. The question is, when does it get done? Does it get done next week, the week after, prior to the start of training camp? I don't know exactly when it's gonna be — but Jalen Ramsey will get traded. It'll be, I would expect, before the start of training camp. We'll see how it shakes out — where he goes. I think he would like to go to the West Coast, to Los Angeles — Rams, Chargers, somewhere like that."
The Rams were previously linked as a trade suitor for Ramsey, but the Chargers also seem like a solid fit for the Dolphins cornerback — much to the dismay of Pittsburgh.
All speculation and rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, as it was previously reported that DK Metcalf wanted to stay on the West Coast — right before he was traded to the Steelers.

ESPN Claims Aaron Rodgers Had Say in Steelers' George Pickens Trade
ESPN Claims Aaron Rodgers Had Say in Steelers' George Pickens Trade originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A stunning development has surfaced this week that links the two most newsworthy moves of the NFL offseason - both of which involved the Pittsburgh Steelers. Advertisement Pittsburgh, shortly after trading for and singing DK Metcalf, called it quits with top receiver George Pickens by trading him to the Dallas Cowboys for draft compensation. Then, free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it official that he would, as many expected, be signing with Pittsburgh for his 21st season in the league. Now reports are saying the first move was made in preparation for the next one. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers felt pressured to trade Pickens with Rodgers and potential locker room tension in mind. 'The Steelers moved on from Pickens for a few reasons,' Fowler writes. 'His maturity issues were well-known within Pittsburgh's locker room and front office. So, the Steelers made the evaluation that Pickens and Rodgers probably would not hit it off.' Advertisement Pickens' history of on-field fights and tardy attendance to team functions have been well documented. He may be just 24 years old, but the character concerns were real, and Mike Tomlin, among the sternest head coaches around, had had enough. But now here comes Rodgers, who may not be the easiest guy to get along with, either. Will Rodgers be an "upgrade" in maturity? Certainly, but that doesn't eliminate all of the drama that has seemed to follow Rodgers with greater intensity as of late. Would Pickens and Rodgers have meshed? Probably not, but that's all an assumption. Pickens is entering a contract year, and all indications show that he's on the straight and narrow in Dallas so far. Rodgers likely knows he's near the end of the road, so maybe he could clean up his frequent controversies and attention-seeking ploys in search of a successful last ride. Advertisement Or not. That forces the Steelers to have to pick between the two. While it's unclear whether Rodgers demanded Pickens be moved before he signs, that could be a plausible story here also. If you're into conspiracies - like Rodgers - maybe that's an explanation of the move. Realistically, the move to favor the quarterback should offer enough to be justified. Pittsburgh had swung and missed on any quarterback options to this point, and having just locked down Metcalf, they valued a future Hall of Famer under center more than a young receiver prospect who isn't even as proven as his replacement. There's a strong possibility that these moves - however much they have to do with one another - could still pay major dividends to both franchises. Advertisement Dallas finds an electric receiver to relieve pressure from All-Pro centerpiece CeeDee Lamb, and Pittsburgh finds the best quarterback option available at a team-friendly price. Drama may come regardless, but at least Pittsburgh played it smart. Better to be safe than sorry. Related: Is Aaron Rodgers 'In The Best Shape'? Ex Steelers LB 'Excited' Aaron Rodgers is in Pittsburgh
Ex Steelers LB 'Excited' Aaron Rodgers is in Pittsburgh originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard the news that 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers, will suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers next season. Advertisement It was a long and arduous process, but Rodgers finally agreed to a one-year, $13.65 million contract with $10 million guaranteed. One Steelers legend, four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion linebacker Joey Porter Sr., couldn't be happier that Rodgers is in town. 'Man, me being honest, I was excited,' Porter said. 'I got to play against Aaron Rodgers and watch Aaron Rodgers do his thing. I feel like he got a lot of juice left in the arm. … He's not a guy that is going to go out there and trick it off. He ain't going to put us in bad situations. We ain't asking him to save us — we ask him not to lose the four games that we lose every year that we're not supposed to lose.' Porter Sr. outlined his experience playing against Rodgers on the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast. Advertisement The question, though, is, which version of Rodgers will the Steelers get? Porter Sr. played against the Rodgers who was winning league MVPs and throwing for 40 touchdowns each season. That's not the player who took the field last year for the New York Jets. Rodgers, who turns 42 in December, led the Jets to a 5-12 mark in his only full season in New York. Don't forget (Jets fans won't) that he missed all but four plays of the 2023 campaign after rupturing his Achilles on the first drive of the first game after joining the team two offseasons ago. Last season should be one to forget for Rodgers. He finished below the league average in passer rating - a stat of which he's the all-time career leader, and 31st in the league in QBR - behind names like Aidan O'Connell and Kirk Cousins. Advertisement His five wins last season are his lowest win total since 2017, when he played just seven games for Green Bay and posted a 4-3 mark. Rodgers' previous low win total was six, which he posted three times since taking over as the Packers' starting quarterback in 2008. Which Rodgers will Pittsburgh get in 2025? It shouldn't take long to find out. Related: Analyst Thinks T.J. Steelers Rookie QB Describes 'Good Vibe' with Aaron Rodgers
Steelers Rookie QB Describes 'Good Vibe' with Aaron Rodgers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Ohio State quarterback Will Howard in the sixth round of this year's NFL Draft without knowing what their ultimate fate with Aaron Rodgers would be. Advertisement Rodgers has now signed on for one season, and will be the team's starting quarterback next year, with Mason Rudolph and possibly Howard playing behind him. There's no quarterback competition, except maybe for who plays first if something happens to the 10-time Pro Bowler, but Howard says he's learned a lot from the 20-year veteran signal caller. 'He's been so awesome to me so far,' Howard said. 'Obviously we've only gotten to be together for about three days, but I got a really good feeling about him and about this whole QB room. I think we already in this past week meshed really well, hit it off. I think we got a good vibe, good group. Aaron has been so willing to help me. He's like, 'Literally, as much or as little as you want me to help you, I'll be there.' He's already given me tips, little things here and there — in the meeting room, on the field, in my drops, different little things. "Obviously I can't do the things that he can do mechanically, so I don't want to replicate that too much because that's pretty unique. But, for the most part, everything I can learn from that guy is invaluable. So I'm like as much as you want to pour into me.' Advertisement Rodgers enters his 21st season in the NFL in 2025. Howard was just three years old when the former Green Bay Packers quarterback was drafted, and there's no question that experience can mean a lot to a rookie quarterback. If Rodgers is willing to give it. Related: Ex Steelers LB 'Excited' Aaron Rodgers is in Pittsburgh Related: Analyst Thinks T.J.
