PM Modi in Bhopal: Operation Sindoor a ‘Naari Shakti' symbol as ‘brave daughters of BSF' showed valour
He also transferred the first instalment of 1,271 new Atal Gram Seva Sadan (Panchayat Bhawan), built at ₹ 483 crore. PM Modi said, 'In Pahalgam, terrorists not only shed the blood of Indians, but they also attacked our culture. They tried to divide our society. These terrorists have challenged the women's power of India -- a challenge that has now turned into a nightmare for the terrorists and their handlers.'
2. 'Operation Sindoor is India's largest and most successful counter-terrorism operation. Our forces destroyed terrorist hideouts in places that even Pakistan's army had never imagined. This operation made it loud and clear that proxy wars through terrorism will no longer be tolerated. Now, we will strike even inside enemy territory, and those who support terrorists will also pay a heavy price,' he added.
3. While applauding the women personnel for their contribution during Operation Sindoor, PM Modi stated, 'Operation Sindoor has also become a symbol of 'Naari Shakti. We all know how significant the role of the BSF (Border Security Force) was in this operation. BSF's daughters were holding the front lines from Jammu to Punjab, Rajasthan, and the Gujarat border. They gave a strong reply to cross-border firing. From the Command and Control Centre to destroying enemy posts, the brave daughters of the BSF displayed exceptional valour.'
4. 'For the first time, the doors of Sainik Schools have been opened to girls. Before 2014, only 25% of NCC cadets were girls, but now that number is heading toward 50%. The first batch of women cadets has passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA). From flying fighter planes to serving on INS Vikrant, women officers are demonstrating outstanding bravery,' PM Modi stressed on women deployment in frontline positions in the armed forces.
5. PM Modi mentioned, 'But today, the government is making efforts so that our women lead the way in modern tech. In agriculture, a drone revolution is happening. Through the NaMo Drone Didi initiative, the confidence and income of rural women are rising.'
6. 'Today, a large number of our daughters are becoming doctors, engineers, and scientists. In all of our major space missions, our mothers and sisters are working as scientists. In the Chandrayaan-3 mission, over 100 women scientists and engineers were involved,' he asserted.
7. PM Modi honoured Ahilyabai Holkar and remarked that merely hearing her name inspires profound respect, stating, 'She is a symbol of how, when there is public willpower and firm determination, even the most adverse circumstances can be overcome and transformed into remarkable outcomes. Centuries ago, when the country was shackled in slavery, accomplishing such great deeds that future generations would continue to speak of them was no easy task.'

"Said It Before PM Modi": Rahul Gandhi Jabs At BJP Over Caste Census
Sasaram: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday claimed that the Modi government announced a caste census only under pressure and it would neither get a "true" caste census done nor remove the 50 per cent cap on reservations. He made the remarks at the launch of the Voter Adhikar Yatra that started from poll-bound Bihar's Sasaram and saw the participation of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, Vikassheel Insaan Party's Mukesh Sahani. CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI(M)'s Subhashini Ali and CPI's P Sandosh Kumar also joined the launch ceremony of Gandhi's 1,300 km-long yatra. "We had said in Parliament, that we want a caste census and that the wall of 50 per cent cap on reservation should be brought down. I said it before PM Modi. "But the BJP and Narendra Modi, under pressure, announced a caste census but I know that they will not conduct a true caste census and will never bring down the wall of 50 per cent cap on reservations," Gandhi said in his address at the launch event. The Congress and INDIA bloc will get a caste census done in the whole country and remove the 50 per cent cap on reservations, Gandhi said. The Centre announced in April that caste enumeration will be part of the next population census, with the inclusion of caste details for the first time since independence. Opposition parties, including the Congress, have been demanding a nationwide caste census for long. Following the Union government's announcement, the Congress said many questions arise about the government's caste census decision, especially, the intention of the government, and the deadline for conducting the census. The Voter Adhikar Yatra will cover over 20 districts in Bihar to step up the Congress's campaign against what it claims to be "vote chori". It began on Sunday with Tejashwi driving a jeep which had Gandhi, Sahani, Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar and Bhattacharya in it.

India-Maldives Bilateral Trade Jumps 3-Fold In Last 7 Years
New Delhi: Bilateral trade between India and the Maldives has registered a more than 3-fold jump over the past seven years from $223 million in 2017–18 to $680 million in 2024–25, according to official figures. India's exports to the Maldives rose from $217 million in FY 2017-18 to $561 million in FY 2024-25, while imports from the Maldives expanded from $6 million to $119 million during the same period. The trade between the two countries is expected to increase further with Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing a Rs 4,850 crore line of credit to the Maldives during his recent visit to the island nation last month. Additionally, PM Modi announced that discussions for a free trade agreement have also started between the two countries. India has decided to promote renewable energy in the Maldives and will share its experience in this sector with the Indian Ocean neighbour. PM Modi visited the Maldives at the invitation of President Mohamed Muizzu and attended the country's 60th Independence Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour. This also represented a turnaround in relations with the Muizzu government, which came to power in 2023. The turnaround in the bilateral ties assumes significance as President Muizzu, known to be close to China, was known for his anti-India rhetoric while in the opposition as part of his political strategy to oust the earlier government. The Maldives is one of India's key maritime neighbours in the Indian Ocean Region, and the overall bilateral ties, including in areas of defence and security, witnessed an upward trajectory under the previous governments in Male. This sentiment is embedded in India's Neighbourhood First policy and the MAHASAGAR vision, which recognises that the security and prosperity of the region are inseparable. India's approach is grounded in the belief that small island nations are not peripheral actors in global affairs but are frontline states in the fight against climate change, guardians of critical sea lanes, and partners in maritime security. The Maldives, straddling vital shipping routes, occupies a central place in India's Indian Ocean strategy.

China's Wang Yi to meet PM Narendra Modi during two-day India visit
During his two-day visit, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar, on Monday evening to lay the groundwork for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to China later this month. Wang will also hold the 24th round of Special Representatives (SR) dialogue on the boundary issue with National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday. Later in the evening, Wang will call on Modi. Both Wang and Doval are designated special representatives for the boundary talks. Some of the issues likely to be discussed during Wang and Jaishankar's meeting include further de-escalation on the border, resumption of direct flight services, and border trade through all the designated trade points — Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, Shipki La Pass in Himachal Pradesh, and Nathula Pass in Sikkim. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Wang will call on PM Modi at his 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence at 5:30 pm on Tuesday. The PM will travel to Tianjin, China, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit on August 31 and September 1, after his visit to Japan starting on August 29. In Tianjin, Modi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit. NSA Doval had travelled to China in December last year and held the SR talks with Wang. Since then, Jaishankar has met Wang on the sidelines of multilateral forums, including a meeting in Beijing in July, while Doval last met Wang in June. The Modi-Xi meeting in Kazan on October 23, 2024, helped overcome friction after the Galwan Valley military clashes of June 2020, paving the way for the normalisation of ties between the two countries, including a disengagement pact for Depsang and Demchok.
