Arsenal and Man United handed Viktor Gyokeres boost with Sporting 'willing to accept add-ons' as part of £69m bid
Sporting have been holding out for a fee in the region of €80million (£69m) for Gyokeres, who has scored 97 goals in 102 games over the past two club seasons.
But the Portuguese champions could now be open to payment structures that include realistic bonuses to reach that figure.
The news comes as Arsenal and United look to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with both clubs long-term admirers of the 27-year-old, who has a release clause of around €100m (£86m) in his Sporting contract.
According to A Bola, Sporting remain firm on their overall valuation but are prepared to accept an offer in the region of €70m (£60.5m) up front, with an additional €10m (£8.5m) in achievable bonuses to reach their desired asking price.
This represents a shift from fears that the Portuguese champions would demand the full €80m (£69m) in a single payment.
Sporting are expecting Gyokeres to report for pre-season on Monday at their Cristiano Ronaldo Academy base, despite previous reports that the striker could skip his return in protest over an unfulfilled promise regarding his sale.
Gyokeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, is said to believe the player was given verbal assurances by Sporting's former sporting director, Hugo Viana, that he could leave this summer for between €60m (£52m) and €70m (£60.5m).
The situation has created tension, but Sporting remain confident of Gyokeres reporting as planned, even as Premier League interest continues to circle.
Arsenal have previously been linked with a €55m (£64m) plus €10m (£11.5m) add-ons approach, while United are also monitoring the situation while also eyeing other targets.
Gyokeres joined Sporting from Coventry City in July 2023 for an initial fee of €20m (£17m) plus €4m (£3.5m) in add-ons.
He is under contract until June 2028.

I lost £97,000 to a scammer. Before you judge me, here's the unexpected - and tragic - reason I fell for it... and how it changed my life forever: SARAH GRACE
It was the dead of night when I made the devastating discovery. Combing frantically through the flurry of emails I'd received from a financial services company and trying to work out how I had got into such a mess, I suddenly realised the address was slightly different to the one on the website. An email to the legitimate firm that morning confirmed my worst fears; I had lost £97,000 to a gang masquerading as investment brokers.
