KUCHING: The Sarawak Government demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education by launching the Special Financial Aid (BKK), a RM50.4 million initiative providing crucial financial support to 42,000 Sarawakian students pursuing higher education nationwide. Each eligible student will receive RM1,200, disbursed via the S Pay Global platform in two RM600 instalments per semester. This aid, announced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in Kuala Lumpur, is open to all Sarawakian students, regardless of income, signifying a proactive approach to ensuring accessibility and opportunity. In a Facebook post, Ghazali clarified, 'For the record, none of Datuk Armizan's children attend that school.' He added that a police report has been lodged against a TikTok user under the handle 'saka_merah7' for allegedly spreading false and malicious content intended to defame the minister. 'Social media must not be used to spread slander or stir assumptions that lead to dangerous falsehoods,' he said. Ghazali said it is his duty to counter the spread of misinformation, especially when the family of the late student is still grieving. 'This is a time for empathy, not political exploitation. Sabah's political scene is mature. "There's no need to stoop this low. Enough is enough. Grab surpasses Q2 revenue estimates with RM651 mil, 23pc growth

Adjusted EBITDA came in at US$109 million, meeting expectations. Despite tough competition from Indonesia's GoTo Group and other new players, Grab added 2 million monthly users, reaching 46 million, helped by broader product offerings. Speculation of a Grab-GoTo merger resurfaced after Grab sold US$1.5 billion in convertible bonds, but the company denied ongoing talks. Discussions had reportedly slowed due to regulatory concerns, with Indonesia's antitrust body warning against monopolistic outcomes. Shares remain well below Grab's 2021 IPO price, though they've risen 60pc over the past year.
