Ohio State Legend Kirk Herbstreit Facing Backlash for Wearing Michigan Logo

Yahoo24-04-2025
Former quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Kirk Herbstreit, faces criticism after being spotted wearing the Michigan logo. He was present in the stands to watch his son, Chase Herbstreit, play in the Michigan spring game.
The ESPN analyst was wearing what seems to be a lanyard with the Michigan logo and not specifically their merch. Given the rivalry and his ties to the Buckeyes, fans didn't seem to like it at all.

"Terrible look for a Buckeye player to wear TTUN gear," A fan posted on social media. "And don't give the excuse of his kid. He knows the rivalry and what it means. It's not a good look at all."

Another fan recognised that what Herbstreit was wearing was not actually a gear.
"In case no one can bother to do a little research …. That's NOT Michigan gear," He said. "Although he did wear M when his son committed - this is just a lanyard for access to spring practice under a jacket - colors? Possibly. But not true M gear."
One fan posted a funny meme, lightening up the situation.
Some other fan recognised it as a fatherly duty towards his son. He said that Herbstreit was just trying to be a supportive dad.

"He is being what a Dad should be - supportive. Considering he played on that field as a rival and worked as a broadcaster, I am sure lots of memories come up in the Big House."
Fans were divided, with some passionately speaking up about it while others supported his fatherly intentions to support his son.

NBA rumors: Why Damian Lillard might wait to sign amid Warriors, Celtics, Lakers interest

The post NBA rumors: Why Damian Lillard might wait to sign amid Warriors, Celtics, Lakers interest appeared first on ClutchPoints. Damian Lillard is suddenly a free agent for the first time after the Milwaukee Bucks decided to waive and stretch his contract in order to make room for signing Myles Turner. A number of suitors have already reached out to Lillard's camp about a deal even though he's rehabbing from a torn Achilles, with The Athletic's latest report from Eric Nehm, Sam Amick and Joe Vardon naming the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers 'among the many teams that would have interest in doing a deal sooner rather than later.' Advertisement The Warriors had previously been linked to Lillard by Andscape's Marc J. Spears. The Miami Heat and Lillard's former team, the Portland Trail Blazers, have also been named as suitors for the veteran point guard. However, Lillard is expected to take his time when it comes to picking his new team. Given he's rehabbing a serious injury and won't play in the 2025-26 season, there's no reason for him to rush into anything. ESPN's Tim Bontemps and Jamal Collier report the 35-year-old isn't even expected to sign with a new team at all for the 2025-26 season, instead opting to rehab in Portland before making a decision down the road. Via ESPN: 'Though Lillard is a free agent now, there aren't many reasons for any team to rush to sign him now — or for him to seek a deal now. Yes, any team could sign him now, but they would have only his non-Bird rights, meaning they could give him only a small raise without using salary cap space or a salary cap exception next summer. And unlike in other sports where teams have more flexibility over how to structure contracts, under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, year-over-year raises are extremely limited in multiyear contracts, preventing a team from offering Lillard a minimum this season then giving him a balloon payment for the 2026-27 season once he's healthy.' Lillard is reportedly 'elated' with this turn of events and will collect all of the nearly $113 million he's owed, no matter when he makes his decision. There's a salary offset that will apply once he does sign, but it makes sense to wait and see what the landscape looks like next summer when he's ready to return to action. Advertisement So while suitors may want to get him in their building right away as he rehabs, Damian Lillard can take his sweet time and make a decision whenever he wants. Tim MacMahon compares Giannis-Bucks' situation to ‘comfortable underwear'

The post Tim MacMahon compares Giannis-Bucks' situation to 'comfortable underwear' appeared first on ClutchPoints. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo's future remains a key topic of conversation amid the team's ongoing roster changes. ESPN's Tim MacMahon added a colorful perspective to the discussion, comparing Antetokounmpo's long-standing relationship with the franchise to a worn but dependable pair of 'comfortable underwear.' Advertisement MacMahon made the comments during the latest episode of ESPN's Hoop Collective, where he used the metaphor to reflect both the enduring support and emerging flaws of the Bucks organization. 'I've got this pair of underwear, unbelievably comfortable underwear,' MacMahon said. 'It reminds me of what the Bucks franchise probably feels like to Giannis because the support — phenomenal — comfortable, very comfortable, but man, they got holes in them. They're falling apart. I just can't take myself to chunk them, they're too nice, too comfortable, too much support. That's the Bucks organization to Giannis right now. They are that pair of underwear that just feels so good you can't throw them out no matter how many holes are in them.' MacMahon's analogy comes at a time of transition for Milwaukee. The Bucks recently waived Damian Lillard and stretched his remaining contract to create cap space, using it to sign former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal. The move is part of a broader reshaping of the roster following consecutive early playoff exits. Bucks' roster continues to spark questions about Giannis Antetokounmpo's long-term future Jim Rassol-Imagn Images Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP and the 2021 NBA Finals MVP, has spent his entire career with the Bucks since being drafted in 2013. He remains under contract through the 2026–27 season after signing a three-year extension last fall. Still, questions about his long-term commitment have lingered amid the team's fluctuating title chances. Advertisement The Bucks' core, built around Antetokounmpo, has undergone notable changes over the past two years, including the arrivals and departures of several key players. Milwaukee continues to make bold decisions in an effort to retool around its superstar while maintaining competitiveness in a deep Eastern Conference. Under head coach Doc Rivers, who took over midway through the 2024 season, the Bucks are attempting to balance their veteran-heavy roster with enough flexibility to adapt to the evolving landscape. MacMahon's remarks highlight the perception that while Milwaukee may no longer be a flawless contender, its familiarity and structure still offer Antetokounmpo a strong foundation. As the Bucks prepare for the 2025–26 season, the franchise faces pressure to demonstrate that it can continue to build around Antetokounmpo in a way that keeps the team competitive and its star engaged. For now, the organization remains committed to doing so — even as outside observers use unusual metaphors to describe the delicate balance between loyalty and long-term success.
