Ed Sheeran has risen to fame over the years for his impressive musical talent and is now performing a string of homecoming gigs and welcomed Westlife to the stage last night Singer Ed Sheeran surprised his fans with a surprise appearance from Westlife during his homecoming gig last night. The music star is putting on a string of homecoming shows in Ipswich this weekend. However, during his Friday night show, he wasn't alone and brought out some well-known faces onto the stage. Much to the surprise of his fans, Ed paused the show to announce that he would be joined by the iconic boyband. Speaking to his crowd, Ed said: "Can you make some noise, they've flown over all the way from Ireland for this, will you make some noise for Westlife!" The crowd then burst into cheers for the group as they walked on stage. Westlife and Ed then put on their own rendition of their hit song Flying Without Wings, with all of the crowd joining in singing along. Ed performed his first of three homecoming shows in Ipswich last night. He is performing at Portman Road Football Stadium on July 12 and 13 as well. The star sang several of his own songs as well as some covers being in the mix as well. A huge 30,000 strong crowd packed out the venue to see their favourite musician. Ed described returning to his hometown as "really cool" after not playing a major gig there since 2019. Ed's appearance comes as Olivia Rodrigo's fans were left stunned by the songstress' surprise guest at her BST gig in Hyde Park. The show came before her hugely anticipated Glastonbury Festival appearance where she closed this year's epic event. The 22-year-old American bright Ed onto the stage for a rendition of his early hit, The A Team. He had been watching Olivia wow the crowd from the side of the stage. As he waited patiently, Olivia then surprised those at the show when she introduced him as "one of the best songwriters of all time". This isn't the first time that the singer has rocked up at someone else's show. He has previously surprised fans at concerts of Limp Bizkit, Stormzy and Taylor Swift to name a few. And taking to Instagram following his latest surprise, he said: "Been a fan of Olivia's since Drivers License blew my mind back at the start of 2021. Both albums are no skips for me. I'm a proper fan." He went on: "Was gonna go watch the show anyway but she hit me and asked to sing The A Team with her, which was such a buzz. "That song turns 15 this year, and I remember playing it to rooms with no one in it in 2010, so to still be playing it to new fans with one of the brightest stars of the next generation is an honour and a privilege."

She has called modelling her "cool little side hustle" and it has helped fund her tennis career, despite trolls trying to put her down with mean comments. She beat her friend and compatriot, 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, in the final qualifying round in what was an emotional affair for Branstine. But nothing beat the moment of relief she felt when she won her first game on Court One, having lost the first five games against Sabalenka. Branstine told SunSport: "When I got it, it was just relief. "I was like, oh, thank God. And I wanted everyone to feel that with me. "I really like connecting with the crowd. So I'm glad it excited everyone. And it was a cute little moment." Branstine is a big admirer of Sabalenka and feels she shares similar traits with the world No1, from hitting big to their fiery persona on court, as well as their openness off it. The match ended 6-1 7-5 to Sabalenka, with the Belarusian going on to make the semi-final where she lost to Amanda Anisimova. But she gave Branstine a moment she will never forget after sealing match point. Branstine continued: "At the net, it wasn't really much, but she just said 'you're so beautiful'. "I couldn't believe it. And I was like, you too. And then we kind of laughed. That was our little exchange. "But it was really nice. I like her as a person. She's a great girl, amazing player. "I feel like I could be friends with her. Maybe I will be eventually."

Orange Tango's 'happy slapper' TV ad star met tragic end after banned craze
The famous Tango Orange TV advert, which saw a man in a nappy slap a drinker around the face, was banned after sparking copycat crazes - but what became of the actor Peter Greeves? Sometimes an advert captures our imagination so brilliantly, like the heartwarming John Lewis Christmas commercials that people look forward to every year. But in other moments, adverts spectacularly misfire – remember the 1992 'happy slapper' Tango advert with its infamous line, "You know when you've been Tango'd"? The notorious ad depicted a trio of youngsters on a street corner, one enjoying a can of Tango, with a voiceover from Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis alongside sports commentator Ray Wilkins. They narrated a slow-mo replay of the Tango drinker getting slap around the face by a bright orange man sporting a bald head and a nappy. The slap was intended to represent the intense hit of the drink's flavour. Marking the launch of Tango's new comedic campaign, the advert inadvertently sparked a rash of copycat slapping incidents in playground s, allegedly causing children to sustain burst ear drums – leading to the immediate ban of the commercial. Relatively unknown talent Peter Greeves took on the role of the Tango man, having worked in some films and TV series such as Muppet Treasure Island, Nuns On The Run, Birds Of A Feather, Closer To Home, and Men Behaving Badly, reports OK!. Recounting the ad's casting, art director Trevor Robinson shared reflections with The Guardian, saying: "Somehow we also convinced serious up-and-coming actor Peter Geeves to play the Orange Man. We knew as soon as he auditioned – the way he ran with his stomach sticking out – that he'd be perfect." He elaborated on the original concept for the advertisement, revealing: "At first, we thought the ad would have a fat orange genie who ran up and kicked the Tango drinker on the bum. Of course, the advertising authority at the time, the BACC, said no way. We got the script cleared by changing the kick to a pleasant, Morecambe and Wise -style slap on the face. I think it's safe to say the little slap got a bit out of hand." He also recounted learning about the troublesome trend it sparked, saying: "I remember having a conversation with a doctor, who complained that kids were 'Tangoing' each other at the cost of perforated ear drums." Peter Geeves seemingly vanished from the public eye in 1996 as he quit acting to establish a micro-brewery with his son, providing Yorkshire pubs with their own local brews. The pair's Tunnel Mouth was even named champion beer at a breweries festival. However, he did appear in five episodes of police drama The Bill, an episode of Doctors and two episodes of EastEnders, where he played Len. In a chat with ITV back in 2006, Peter nostalgically recalled his stint in the Tango advert, quipping: "I was asked to first of all run around, then run around and scream, then run around screaming topless, it was at that point I thought 'aye-aye, this isn't the normal run of the mill advert'". Sadly, Peter's IMDB page reveals the news that he passed away on 31 December 2022, at the age of 67, leaving behind a wife, Suzanne, and two children.
