OP Sindoor exposed the nexus between Pakistan and terrorism: Shah
Ahmedabad, May 18 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday praised the Armed Forces for eliminating terror camps in Pakistan and POK, and said that Operation Sindoor had exposed the nexus between the Pakistani Army, the Pakistan state and terrorism before the whole world.
Addressing a gathering in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Shah said, "Our Brahmos missiles destroyed Pakistan's airbases. Our brave soldiers of the Indian Army have eliminated the hideouts of Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and many terrorists who were taking refuge in Pakistan and for this, the whole country bows down to the Jawans of our armed forces", a Home Ministry statement said.
Stating that Operation Sindoor had exposed many things about Pakistan, Shah said, "Pakistan used to tell the whole world that there are no terrorists and terrorist activities in our country. But when our missile fell there under Operation Sindoor and the terrorists were wiped out, Pakistan was exposed in front of the whole world".
He said that whenever the history of protecting the security of the country and its borders will be written, the name of Operation Sindoor will be written in golden letters.
"After the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the people of the country in Bihar that the Indian Armed Forces would destroy the terrorist hideouts. In a few days, Prime Minister Modi's strong political will, the valour of the Army, the accurate information of our intelligence agencies and the firepower of the Armed Forces attacked nine locations in Pakistan and destroyed the terrorist hideouts," Shah said.
He said, "The government gave a befitting reply to the terrorists by first carrying out surgical strikes, then airstrikes and now by eliminating the terrorists who wiped off the vermillion from the foreheads of the women of our country".
Shah said, "After Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Modi made it clear in his address to the country that the water of Sindhu and blood cannot flow simultaneously, trade and terrorism cannot go on together. He has also made it clear to the whole world that we are ready for talks with Pakistan, but the talks will be for taking back Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and ending terrorism".
He said that today 140 crore countrymen are saluting and praising the bravery of our armed forces, the accuracy of our intelligence agencies and the strong political will of Prime Minister Modi.
The Home Minister said that the inauguration and foundation stone laying of development works worth more than Rs 1,550 crore is taking place simultaneously. He said that today the beneficiaries have also benefited under many employment -oriented schemes by Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
Shah said that today KVIC has provided employment facilities to more than 1,000 beneficiaries through electronic potter's wheel, sewing machine, leather tool kit, Kachi Ghani oil machine, automatic incense stick making machine.

"Visit very good, Germany condemned terrorism": Ravi Shankar Prasad
Berlin [Germany], June 7 (ANI): BJP MP and all-party delegation leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday described the visit to Germany to convey India's resolute and united stand against terrorism highly successful, noting that Germany has condemned terrorism as well as expressed solidarity with India. Following an interaction at a community event in Berlin, Prasad highlighted the enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora inspired by India's growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and emphasised that the delegation's concerns were heard across six countries, with their mission to expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism gaining traction. 'There is a lot of enthusiasm among Indians in Berlin. They are very inspired by India's growth story and the action taken by the country against terrorists under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Our visit to Germany has been very good. Germany has also condemned terrorism. We are very satisfied with the visit. We were given a lot of respect in the six countries we visited, and our concerns were heard, and our stance has been made clear,' Prasad added. Former Union Minister and part of Prasad's delegation, MJ Akbar, underscored PM Modi's leadership in the global fight against terrorism, particularly along religious pretexts. He further expressed optimism about the mission's success, suggesting a positive outlook for India-Germany bilateral ties. 'We hope we have played some part in ensuring that the mission that Prime Minister Modi sent us on has been successful. We have conveyed the message that PM Modi will lead the global fight against barbaric terrorism in the name of religion, and that has risen. The reception in Germany has been the most sympathetic. This also speaks well of the future of our bilateral relations,' he added. BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari, who is also part of Prasad's delegation, echoed her sentiment, highlighting the delegation's call for close monitoring of IMF funds availed by Pakistan and emphasising the unified global solidarity with India's position. 'We are very happy because we started with a friendly nation, France, and are ending with a friendly nation, Germany. The diaspora has shown a lot of enthusiasm... When we spoke to the governments of different countries, they showed sympathy towards India and are ready to stand with and support us. We emphasised with them that the IMF, which has been availed by Pakistan, needs to be monitored very closely. All the countries have expressed solidarity with India, and they will stand by us,' she stated. The delegation, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, also includes BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya, Congress MP Amar Singh and Gulam Ali Khatana, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, AIADMK MP M Thambidurai and former diplomat Pankaj Saran. Uttarakhand CM Dhami inaugurates, lays foundation stone of 27 projects in Nainital worth Rs 126 crore 69 lakhs
Nainital (Uttarakhand) [India], June 7 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 27 development projects of Nainital district worth about 126 crore 69 lakhs in a program organised at Lalkuan, Nainital on Saturday. These projects include schemes related to education, road, medical, irrigation, sewerage, urban development, beautification and destitute cow protection. During this, 9 schemes were inaugurated at a cost of 25.93 crores and foundation stone were laid for 18 schemes at a cost of 100.76 crores. The Chief Minister said in his address that these projects will strengthen the infrastructure of the area and provide better facilities to the citizens. Appreciating the nationwide development work being done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that India is becoming a leader in every field including defence, science, sports and infrastructure today. He mentioned the changing power and resolve of the country, referring to 'Operation Sindoor', the abolition of Article 370 and the construction of a rail bridge in Kashmir. The Chief Minister said that in order to make Nainital district an ideal district, projects like Mental Hospital, Cancer Institute, Ayush Hospital, Open Gym, Ambedkar Park, Ring Road, Bypass Road, Astro Park, Pollinator Park and Sports University are being implemented rapidly. Waste Management and Sewerage Management schemes have been started to make Haldwani a clean and green city, while multi-storey parking is being constructed to overcome the problem of jam. Efforts like the Jamrani Multipurpose Dam Project and Industrial Smart City in Khurpiya will give long-term benefits to the Terai region. The Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed not only to development but also to protect cultural identity and social harmony. Strict steps have been taken against conversion, love jihad, land jihad etc. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement Uniform Civil Code and the country's strictest anti-copying law has also been implemented here. Concrete efforts are being made under the 'Gau Sanrakshan Kanoon' for the protection of cows. "India following zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism": Rajnath Singh highlights Op Sindoor, calls for global unity
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that India has demonstrated a successful strategy to defeat terrorism, laying out five key positions on how the global community can uproot such activities, and assured retaliation against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism while showing zero tolerance against this menace. In an article titled 'We've shown how to defeat terror,' published in an English Daily, Singh reflects on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and India's subsequent response through Operation Sindoor, emphasising the nation's resolve under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, India is following a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Fighting against terror is not optional but it's our collective duty. It's high time the global community unites to uproot this menace from its roots. In another post, he further added that terrorism was a whip to humanity, referencing another article published in another Hindi Daily, noting the need for global unity and measures to take effective action against terrorism. 'Terrorism is a scourge on humanity. India's stand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very clear, and that is of zero tolerance. In my article... I have stressed the need for global unity against terrorism and discussed the measures available to the global community to take effective action against terrorism,' Singh stated in another post on X. In the early hours of May 7, Indian Armed Forces successfully hit nine terror camps using special precision munitions in a coordinated operation called Operation Sindoor, destroying four camps in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur and Muridke, and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strikes on all nine targets were successful, which targeted top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders involved in sponsoring terrorist activities in India. Following the attack, intense clashes took place between India and Pakistan, with Pakistan's attempted drone attacks on Indian cities along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) and shelling along the LoC. India also retaliated with targeted strikes on Pakistani military installations, causing significant damage. After which, a cessation of hostilities between the two nations was agreed on May 10.
