WWE icon, 49, 'hasn't aged a day' in SmackDown return 25 years after debut
The 49-year-old Hall of Famer, who first introduced the wrestling world to Stratusfaction 25 years ago, made a comeback during last night's broadcast on Netflix, which was pre-taped earlier this week
Stratus' return set the stage for an in-ring appearance at the upcoming all-women's premium live event Evolution, which airs on July 13.
Fans were blown as she interrupted a segment between Queen of the Ring winner Jade Cargill and WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton to set up a title match with the latter next week.
She shared photos from her comeback branding herself 'your first crush', and viewers insisted she hasn't aged since her debut back in 2000.

'Trish Stratus is ageless,' wrote @EJRockSolid24 on X, as @IBPRI24 said: 'Looking better than ever and ready to grace the ring once more.'
'So good to see Trish back. I don't think she aged a second,' agreed @bengal4everson, while @sigmapoet1914 added: 'You haven't aged at all Trish. Go take down Tiffy Time at #WWEEvolution.'
Despite initially retiring in 2006 after winning her seventh Women's Championship, Stratus has made several comebacks over the years.
In 2018, she was a surprise entrant in the inaugural women's Royal Rumble, and in October of the same year she and fellow Hall of Famer Lita teamed up to beat Alicia Fox and Mickie James at the first Evolution event.
At SummerSlam 2019, she lost to Charlotte Flair in her first proper singles match since her retirement, and when she returned in 2023 Trish embarked on five-month stint feuding with the likes of Becky Lynch.
She had 10 matches that year, ending the run with a loss to the current Women's Intercontinental Champion in a Steel Cage Match at Payback.
That was the last fans saw of her in a wrestling capacity before her appearance in this year's Rumble on February 1.
A month later, the Canadian hero would team up with Tiffany Stratton as the duo beat Candice LeRae and Nia Jax at Elimination Chamber: Toronto.
Charlotte previously opened up about what it meant to face Trish back in 2019, and the pressure she was under.
'It's one of those moments that I don't think you'll ever be able to recreate,' she recalled while chatting to Metro in 2021. 'Who'd thought that you'd see Trish Stratus versus Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam?

'It was just incredible, and to see her in her hometown – she didn't miss a beat. I was very honoured.'

Is Michelle Ryan returning to EastEnders after Zoe Slater's quick exit?
Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) made a hasty departure in EastEnders after a week two decades in the making, claiming that she had done something 'so bad' that it warrants her disappearing for good. The much-loved Walford icon staged her long-awaited comeback last month, appearing on screen for the first time since 2005. Staying with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) in a flat in London, it became apparent very quickly that Zoe wasn't in a good place, with our Stace' concerned enough to notify Alfie Moon (Shane Richie). Alfie wasn't keen on the prospect of keeping Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace)in the dark but Zoe urged him to keep shtum. When Kat showed up at the flat, however, Zoe was forced to hide and she subsequently made an escape, determined not to come face-to-face with her estranged mum. Kat's suspicions were raised when Alfie announced her was taking a trip to Australia – actually flying to Barcelona to try and track her down. In scenes that aired this week, Stacey was forced to cover for him, stating that he'd had a cancer scare and needed some time to himself. The question is: just what is 'so bad' that Zoe has to flee once more? Is this really her exit? Has Michelle Ryan's stint come to an end so soon? Let's take a look at what we know. If you're thinking 'please don't go Zoe, it's barely been a week', then you're not alone as I too was thinking the same thing. However, I bring you good news, with this exit simply being a temporary one. Metro understands that Zoe will return to screens – and presumably this time in Walford – later this year in a more regular captivity. Good things come to those who wait and let's face it, we've been waiting a long time. One of EastEnders' most-known characters ever, Zoe frequented the Square for a five year period, appearing between 2000 and 2005. The early noughties was a particularly strong era for the popular soap, with the Slater clan at the centre of much of the drama. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Zoe in particular featured in many iconic storylines during this period. From assisting Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) and Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) in covering up the murder of Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) after her affair with the Queen Vic landlord – and her subsequent pregnancy reveal – to her relationship with Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman), she had no shortage of legendary and soapy moments. She is mostly remembered for the moment that Kat confirmed she's her biological mum. The truth came to light in a showdown which prompted perhaps the most iconic dialogue exchange ever uttered in Albert Square. I am of course referring to 'You ain't my mother!', to which Kat replied: 'Yes I am!'. More Trending There are few TV moments as iconic – and hopefully we'll get many more when Zoe returns to the Square later this year and *fingers crossed* reunites with Kat. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer. View More » This article was originally published on 18th June 2025. One of the ‘greatest TV shows of all time' launched 36 years ago today
If a friend asked you, 'What's the greatest TV show ever made about?' how would you answer them? Would you explain how it's about a brutal crime boss going to therapy? Perhaps you'd say it follows a chemistry teacher who starts cooking meth to provide for his family? Maybe you'd tell them it's about a bunch of wannabe influencers seeking a brand deal… I mean, love in a villa? Whatever show you think is the best of the best, though I very much doubt you'd tell them it's about nothing. And yet, 36 years ago today, a show 'about nothing' premiered on NBC and changed television forever. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. I'm talking, of course, about Seinfeld, one of the most influential and important series ever made. If you never watched it, then 'NO SOUP FOR YOU! Okay, that's not fair. Allow me to explain the series' premise because it's not really about 'nothing'. The show follows a fictionalised version of Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) and follows him and his friends – George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) as they navigate life in New York City. Now, there are ongoing plots like Jerry getting his own TV show (yes, it gets very meta), and George's terrible love life, but for the most part, the show focuses on the little things in life. This meant you got entire episodes focused on things like finding a car in a multi-storey car park, characters' sex lives, or, most famously, trying to get some soup. Looking to get started with Seinfeld? Why not start here… 10. The Jimmy ( Season 6, Episode 18) – Elaine dates a man whose annoying habit of referring to himself in the third-person annoys Jerry. 9. The Hamptons (Season 5, Episode 2) – Jerry and his pals visit a friend in The Hamptons, and it goes as well as you'd expect. 8. The Betrayal (Season 9, Episode 8) – Jerry sleeps with a woman George is trying to date. 7. The Merv Griffin Show (Season 9, Episode 6) – Kramer decides to recreate the Merv Griffin Show in his apartment. 6. The Bizarro Jerry (Season 8, Episode 3) – Elaine meets a man who is Jerry's exact opposite. Marine Biologist (Season 5, Episode 14) – George starts dating a woman who's convinced he's a marine biologist. 4. The Outing (Season 4, Episode 17) – Elaine convinces a journalist that Jerry and George are dating. 3. The Opposite (Season 5, Episode 21) – George does the exact opposite of what he'd normally do. 2. The Soup Nazi (Season 7, Episode 6) – The gang try and get some soup. 1. The Contest (Season 4, Episode 11) – Jerry and friends make a competition out of self-control. These plots may sound mundane, but they were the secret to the show's success because they made the characters and their world incredibly relatable. Creators Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld would then use this relatable world to make absolutely hilarious jokes and gags about the terribly recognisable gaffes and faux pas we all make on a daily basis. In a way, then, Seinfeld wasn't a show about nothing; it was a show about everything and everyone. Unsurprisingly, considering the brilliance of its premise, cast, and writing, Seinfeld was a huge hit, running for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998 and garnering legions of fans across the globe and turning Jerry into a household name. Indeed, the series' two-part finale was watched by 76.3 million people across America – making it the fourth-most watched series finale in US history. However, beyond the series' commercial and critical success, it had a major influence on the way TV was made. Arguably, the series' biggest influence is that it opened the door to TV shows about unlikable characters. Without Seinfeld, we definitely wouldn't have got Always Sunny or Peep Show, and there's an argument to be made that even stuff like The Sopranos owes a debt of gratitude to Jerry and his friends. Oddly, though, Seinfeld's biggest contribution to pop culture may be that it helped give us Friends. While Friends may be a far more traditional sitcom than Jerry's creation, the two share certain DNA – something that critics were keen to point out when Friends debuted, with some even labelling it a Seinfeld rip-off. Jerry himself has made several potshots at Friends for 'copying' his idea, once joking that the show is just Seinfeld 'with better-looking people'. Jerry's tongue-in-cheek comments aside, the real debt Friends owes Seinfeld is that Friends reruns often ran after Seinfeld, and this lead-in gave the show a massive boost in popularity. Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe on the show, once told The Daily Beast: 'It was in the summer when we were in reruns after Seinfeld, where Seinfeld was our lead-in, where we exploded.' 'I remember going to some party, and Jerry Seinfeld was there, and I said, 'Hi,' and he said, 'You're welcome,'' More Trending 'I said, 'Why, thank you…what?' Lisa continued. 'And he said, 'You're on after us in the summer, and you're welcome. I said, 'That's exactly right. Thank you.'' So I guess if it wasn't for Seinfeld there's an argument to be made there'd be NO FRIENDS FOR YOU! Watch all nine seasons of Seinfeld on Netflix. Got a story? Will there be The Old Guard 3? Here's what we know about a sequel:
Summary The Old Guard 2 is the latest instalment in this Netflix Original movie franchise. This action film has everything from superheroes and missions to betrayals and found family. Netflix determines whether to renew a movie based on various factors such as completion rate, viewership numbers, production costs, and more. As of now, there's no news regarding the renewal of The Old Guard, but we look at the possibility of a Part 3. It may have taken 5 years to get The Old Guard sequel but here it finally is! And The Old Guard 2 cast includes old and new faces such as Charlize Theron, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthias Schoenaerts, KiKi Layne, Henry Golding, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngô and Uma Thurman. With shocking revelations and plot twists, the ending had viewers on the edge of their seats. If you've watched the movie and want to know if there will be a third, this article has all the details you're looking for. Here's everything we know: What is The Old Guard 2 about? As a quick refresher, the first movie follows a bunch of immortals, led by Andy, who go around saving the world and humanity from man-made dangers. In the first movie, they face an existential crisis, an innovative villain and centuries-old regret. The Old Guard 2 picks up where it left off with a now-human Andy, Nile, Joe, Nicky and Copley teaming up to get rid of powerful criminals. But trouble is afoot as Nile dreams of a strange woman wreaking havoc. Traps are set but the team races to her willingly as this new danger is none other than Quỳnh, the immortal Andy failed to save 500 years ago. Seeking revenge against the immortals and humanity for abandoning her, Quỳnh ropes in the team's exiled member, Booker and a mysterious woman, Discord, who may be more powerful than all of the immortals combined. We have extensive coverage of The Old Guard 2 on the site, including a movie review. You can find those HERE! Will there be The Old Guard 3? At the time of writing, Netflix hasn't renewed The Old Guard 3. The Old Guard 2 has been co-produced by Skydance Productions which is responsible for several franchise sequels such as Mission: Impossible, Star Trek and Terminator. However, with Netflix distributing The Old Guard 2, we will have to keep an eye out on the reception. Netflix usually announces sequels depending on the popularity, views and drop-off rates. Some movies are instantly renewed like Enola Holmes and Rebel Moon while others take years such as Extraction, Murder Mystery and The Old Guard itself. So, while The Old Guard 2 does have a steady fanbase which guarantees some modicum of success, there is still no news on a sequel. However, the original author and the cast are excited to turn it into a multi-series franchise which means there is hope. What do we know about The Old Guard 3? Not much is known about The Old Guard 3 at the moment, given that it has not been greenlit. However, Part 2 ends on a massive cliffhanger which means there is ample material for the next movie should it happen. On top of that, the movies are based on Greg Rucka's graphic novels of the same name, so there is definitely a framework ready to be followed. However, nothing is confirmed. We'll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in. Would you like to see The Old Guard return with a Part 3? Or do you think the story has run its course?
