Lindsay Lohan's Freakier Friday press tour looks: from Balmain to Jacquemus

Lindsay Lohan is officially back. The former teen star appears alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray in new film Freakier Friday – the sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday – and she's been making a series of stunning sartorial statements on her press tour. She even wore two looks paying homage to her iconic dual role of Annie James and Hallie Parker in 1993's The Parent Trap. Cue the nostalgia.

For her Live with Kelly & Mark appearance on July 28, Lohan wore the chinoiserie-inspired Oriental Bird print dress from Roberto Cavalli's pre-fall 2025 collection layered under a matching bustier. The look perfectly captured Hallie Parker's rebellious spirit – and the pink
cheongsam-style dress she wore in the film's final scene. Lohan finished her modern-day look with a Cavalli Roar bag and Khaite x Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

Earlier in the day, Lohan wore a yellow tweed miniskirt and jacket from Balmain's resort 2026 line that brilliantly recalled Annie James' polished style in the movie. Diehard film buffs might even say the outfit echoed another '90s classic – that famous yellow plaid skirt suit Alicia Silverstone
wore as Cher in Clueless.
These two outfits, which channel the twin characters Lohan famously portrayed nearly three decades ago, were the brainchild of stylist Andrew Mukamal, who is known for his narrative-driven dressing – as seen on
Margot Robbie's Barbie press tour . His skilful nods to Lohan's cinematic past have created a forceful blend of nostalgia and contemporary fashion as she promotes her new film.
Here's what else Lindsay Lohan wore during her Freaky Friday press run.

On the same day that she wore those nostalgic looks, Lohan appeared in New York City wearing a custom T-shirt referencing Pink Slip, the fictional band in Freakier Friday. She paired the simple top with a black leather miniskirt and belt,
Balenciaga heels and accessories from Cartier, Hermès and Jessica McCormack for the ultimate rock chic look.

14 of the best body horror films from the last 10 years, from Old to The Substance

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein might be the earliest example of body horror, a subgenre of horror that focuses on mutation, destruction and transformation of the human form. These ideas were explored further in classics like The Wolfman and Phantom of the Opera, or intertwined within science fiction in everything from The Fly to Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. Body horror hit its heyday in the 1980s, where advances in practical effects work helped realise the tactile, sanguineous visions of filmmakers like David Cronenberg (Videodrome), John Carpenter (The Thing), George A Romero (Day of the Dead) and Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator). Recently, body horror has seen a resurgence in popularity. The Covid-19 pandemic reacquainted everyone with the vulnerabilities and limitations of their corporeal forms. Cosmetic surgery is also becoming increasingly prevalent, as are arguments relating to abortion and gender affirmation. Alison Brie (left) and Dave Franco in a still from Together. Photo: Germain McMicking/Neon Couple these themes with a global push to amplify marginalised and under-represented voices, and a growing recognition of horror as a versatile and respected genre, and the result has been a wave of diverse, innovative and even confrontational films. This week sees the release of horror-infused romcom Together in cinemas. In the film, real-life partners Alison Brie and Dave Franco play a couple whose relationship takes a frightening turn after a bizarre supernatural encounter triggers a more visceral, inextricable connection between them.

Just months after releasing an experimental album titled Perverts, Ethel Cain is back with new music. This week, she's putting out a prequel to the album, titled Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You. Ethel Cain opening for Mitski on September 12, 2024. Advertisement Ahead of the release of Willoughby Tucker, the 27-year-old dropped lead single 'Nettles' and wrote on Instagram in June: 'I didn't even realise what story I was writing yet but I think subconsciously, because I knew how Preacher's Daughter was going to end, I wanted to go back in time to a moment of sweetness. I hope you enjoy the greenery; I love this song with all my heart.' Pitchfork has described the singer-songwriter as an 'American gothic Lana Del Rey', and she made the Forbes list of 30 under 30 in music last year. She's also a fashion model and was recently seen on the red carpet at the Dior Summer 2026 show in Paris. Here's what you need to know about the model and musician. The songwriter first put out music under the alias White Silas before adopting the moniker Ethel Cain around 2019, when she released the EP Golden Age. She told Nylon in 2021 that the story of Cain and Abel was her 'favourite Bible story growing up', and she was drawn to 'Ethel' because she wanted a name that was 'very 50s old lady'. 'I realised my heart was pulled the strongest to my roots, which is the intersection between my experiences in the heavily religious American South and my dreams of the wild and free American West,' she said of her alter ego in a 2020 Underground Underdogs interview. She says it's also influenced her own life in positive ways: 'I see Ethel Cain as a piece of me that I separate from myself and discard, so that I can make good decisions in life,' she told The Guardian recently. Amazon to cut Wondery podcast staff, reorganise audio business

is breaking up the operations of its Wondery podcast network as part of a broad reorganisation of the business. About 110 people will lose their jobs because of the move, according to a person familiar with the plans. In addition, Wondery Chief Executive Officer Jen Sargent will exit the company, according to a memo to staff viewed by Bloomberg News. Existing Wondery series will either be moved under Amazon's Audible banner or become part of the company's new 'creator services' team, which will become home to personality-driven shows, including Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast. The Wondery brand will still exist on some of these creator services-run shows. The moves are an acknowledgement that Amazon's big push into podcasts has not worked out as planned. Despite signing up some of the biggest names in the business, the online retailer is shifting strategies to compete better with platforms like Spotify Technology and Alphabet's YouTube as podcasts shift to video formats from audio-only. 'The podcast landscape has evolved significantly over the past few years,' Steve Boom, vice-president of audio, Twitch and games, wrote in the memo. 'The rise of video has also blurred the lines on what it means to be a podcast creator.' The Wondery+ team will now report into Audible, the memo states. Wondery's narrative-driven studio, which creates shows including the Dr. Death series, will merge with Audible, and Wondery Chief Content Officer Marshall Lewy will join Audible in a new role.
